Ok, sorry I came on so strong. While Deut. 27 does say that the Children of Israel were to build an alter of stones, he very distictly commanded them to write on them ALL THE WORDS OF THE LAW. 27:3,8. Of course, all the law and even the teachings of Jesus do not provide us the power to keep them. That is only acomplished when we live and abide in Him. If we try to keep the law and even the teachings of Jesus in our own strength, we will fail. That is why Jesus came. that is the truth of the verse at the top of this page (John 3:16). |

Annaciah, since your first statement is false, all the rest of you post is based on falsehood. There was only one LAW. Read 1 Kings 11 to see what God thinks of following different religions. It cost Soloman's decendants the kingdom. Peter said : Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. Heb 1:1 IN MANY separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets, Heb 1:2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. Heb 1:3 He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high, |

105 | Was Mary a virgin her whole life | Matt 1:25 | meusing | 47590
If you will look at Matt 1:25 you will see that it does say 'till' or 'until' those who know Greek like A. T. Robertson, Strong, an Thayer show us that the word 'heos' is a continuence until (place and time) or (as far as); or (up to). The other verses you use are taken out of context. |

106 | Are the days of old different from now? | 2 Sam 13:1 | meusing | 47588
The Old Testament does not support suduction and rape either. Read Heb. 11 to see the faith and beliefs of the people of the old Testament. In Christ we live in communion with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our actions afe based on our living in vital union with the Living God. Amos 4:13 For behold, He Who forms the mountains and creates the wind and DECLARES TO MAN WHAT IS HIS THOUGHT, Who makes the morning darkness and treads on the heights of the earth-- the Lord, the God of hosts, is His name! [Ps. 139:2; Dan. 2:28.] |

107 | No fruit apart from Jesus? | John 15:2 | meusing | 47582
Hi, as I understand it Jesus spoke these words after Judas had left them to betray Him. Does that not show that he (Judas) was not abiding in Jesus? Jesus is the source (the vine). He said at another place :John 4:14 But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life. Paul recognized this when he said : Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. |

108 | What is Incest. How is it defined ? | 2 Sam 13:1 | meusing | 47581
The story of Amnon and Tamar is a story of suduction and rape. I think rape and suduction is an abomination anywhere. ------------------------ Remember, God did not condemn Abram for marrying Sarai, his half sister. In fact he later blessed them with Isaac. |

109 | ? Tribes of Israel | John 3:16 | meusing | 47579
Boy, Annaciah, you ask a lot of questions in one post. 1. The information about the Tribes of Israel is to be found in the Five books of Moses especialy Jacob's(Isaac's) blessing of them in Gen. 49. 2. God alone is the basis for our religion. 3. The book of Acts is about the acts of the Apostles not the tribes of Israel. 4. When the Bible says that a person lived 200 or so years, it means that that person lived 200 or more years. ----------------- P.S. that is the first time I have ever heard the expresion "non-existance happens". Interesting. |

111 | What does this passage mean? | 1 Cor 7:14 | meusing | 47278
I think A. T. Robertson explains it well. -- 1Co 7:14 - Is sanctified in the wife (hegiastai en tei gunaiki). Perfect passive indicative of hagiazo, to set apart, to hallow, to sanctify. Paul does not, of course, mean that the unbelieving husband is saved by the faith of the believing wife, though Hodge actually so interprets him. Clearly he only means that the marriage relation is sanctified so that there is no need of a divorce. If either husband or wife is a believer and the other agrees to remain, the marriage is holy and need not be set aside. This is so simple that one wonders at the ability of men to get confused over Paul’s language. |

112 | How do I learn to trust in God. | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 47270
As we read the Bible we see that God is trustworthy. Seeing that being so, we step out of ourself and TRUST Him to keep His promises. Ps 1:2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Rom. 13:8-10; Gal. 3:1-29; II Tim. 3:16.] Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. [Jer. 17:7, 8.] Jer 17:7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. Jer 17:8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit. |

There is no evidence that she WAS sad. The Serpent just started a conversation with her.
114 | Saved yet unfruitful? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 47143
salvation is our recognition that we are barren, and lacking in the fruits of the spirit in our life; that we need Jesus to bring us to a new birth. And, as new babes these things take time to grow in our lives. 2 Cor 13:5 tells us to test ourselves to see this growth -- to see if we are truely in the vine, and drawing of thelife-giveing power He speaks of in verse 4. That's just my meusing. I saw a study about testing ourselves : PROVE YOUR OWN SELVES. 2 COR. 13.5 This is a needful work. beware of the deceitfulness of the heart. This self-proving should be done-- 1. INSTANTLY. The secret of our failure should be searched out at once. 2. WILLINGLY. Are your prepared to know yourself? -- ready to have a sight of hidden sin? 3. CAREFULLY. Let no beloved sin decieve you. Judge each by their fruits. Don't label things hamless that are unholy. 4. FEARLESSLY. with the lamp of God's searching Word (Heb. 4:12) 5. MERCILESSLY. spare no Agag. Make confession. Acknowledge sin (Ps. 51:3). 6. HONESTLY. Be severe on the sin, but approve what is good. Distinguage between sin and infirmities. 7. PRAYERFULLY. Remember, the Lord alone can search the heart. "Search me, O God; try my heart," |

115 | Does not All hang on Love? mt 22:36-40 | Matt 6:24 | meusing | 46715

116 | Revelation 6:12 and Acts 2:20 | Rev 6:12 | meusing | 46554
Peter was quoting Joel 2. Joel 2:28 And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Joel 2:29 Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit. Joel 2:30 And I will show signs and wonders in the heavens, and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. [Isa. 13:6, 9-11; 24:21-23; Ezek. 32:7-10; Matt. 24:29, 30; Rev. 6:12-17.] Joel 2:32 And whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered and saved, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the remnant [of survivors] shall be those whom the Lord calls. [Acts 2:17-21; Rom. 10:13.] As with all old testement prophesies he pophesieses of the coming of Christ, without distinguishing between the first and second comming. Living in the costal mountains I see one mountain close to me and another mountain behind that which in certain light looks like one mountain. I cannot see the valley between. Just so, the OT prophets did not see the valley of time between the first and second coming of Jesus. Peter indicated that the first part of the prophesy had been fulfilled so that "whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered and saved". The second is still to come. As sure as the first had. |

117 | People want answers! | James 1:5 | meusing | 46548
If you submit yourself and questions to God, He is faithful to answer. He speaks through His Spirit, through His Word, and through His people. All of us become Christians because we need healing. Christians are not perfect and we are all growing at various rates, so our understandings are varied as much as we are yielded to God. Concerning restoring marriage, a good article to read is : http://www.christianitytoday.com/mp/2002/001/6.46.html Again, read james 1:5 and believe it. |

118 | Does not All hang on Love? mt 22:36-40 | Matt 6:24 | meusing | 46543
giam, you seem to be confusing eros love with agape love. Love does not define God, God defines what love is. the focus is to be on God, not love. to give an illustration, A judge here in Canada decided to show love to a convicted murderer and released him. His ex-wife died as a result and he is still loose. The judge acted on love not justice. All eros is not agape. We look to God not to eros |

119 | Does not All hang on Love? mt 22:36-40 | Matt 6:24 | meusing | 46512
I think that you are confusing the emotion of Love with the attribute of Love which is chosing the best for the other no matter how I feel. That is how we can love others who hate us. Our focus is on God, not an emotion. Agape love is an act of the will. |

120 | Does not All hang on Love? mt 22:36-40 | Matt 6:24 | meusing | 46485
God is Good, Satan is Evil. Please show us where God commands us to love Evil. God IS Love, not 'in' Love. if we love God we will hate evil. |
