101 | Christmas | Jer 10:1 | TheFinalSQL | 106936
Jer 10:1 ¶ Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Christmas is heavily steeped in Pagan/heathen traditions. Communion is what Jesus told us to do to remember him, not Christmas. Lu 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Thank you Jesus! Norm |

102 | Prophecy of 70 weeks | Dan 9:24 | TheFinalSQL | 124206
Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. Start: Nehemiah 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. End of 69 weeks: Luke 19:37-40 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. The 70th week. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. This week does not seem to be contiguous with the 69 weeks, but a 7 year period in the future, a tribulation spoken of in Revelations among other books. Praise the Lord! Norm |

103 | Jesus said Don't Tell" about my miracle | Dan 9:25 | TheFinalSQL | 120249
Very good question. Luke 8:56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done. Matthew 16:20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. This is why: Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. We find in Nehemiah the decree to rebuild Jerusalem: Nehemiah 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. In Luke we find the Messiah: Luke 19:38-40 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. Before you try to add up those weeks, the definition of weeks from the Hebrew shabuwa, should be noted(1B): 1) seven, period of seven (days or years), heptad, week A) period of seven days, a week a) Feast of Weeks B) heptad, seven (of years) Jesus would not proclaim himself publicly until the prophecy would be fulfilled. 104 | Jesus said Don't Tell" about my miracle | Dan 9:25 | TheFinalSQL | 120255
In studying this you may find there are several decrees to rebuild the temple. However, with Daniel 9:25 the prophecy deals with the city Jerusalem being rebuilt, as found in Nehemiah. Even though Jesus probably knew the exact time to proclaim himself publically, he did not force this belief onto others, such as Judas to bring this to a conclusion. Praise the Lord! Norm |

107 | what is going to happen when Jesus retur | Matthew | TheFinalSQL | 117641
Matthew 25:31-46 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Praise the Lord! Norm |

112 | Prove having sex makes one married | Matt 18:6 | TheFinalSQL | 126564
What of Mary and Joseph. Looks like sex consummates the marriage, but according to Jewish tradition you are considered legally married, or betrothed if sex has not taken place. Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 1:18 betrothed. Jewish betrothal was as binding as modern marriage. A divorce was necessary to terminate the betrothal (v. 19) and the betrothed couple were regarded legally as husband and wife (v. 19)—although physical union had not yet taken place. See note on Luke 2:5. with child of the Holy Spirit. See vv. 20, 23; Luke 1:26–35. John F. MacArthur, Jr., The MacArthur Study Bible, (Dallas: Word Publishing) 1997. 2:5 betrothed. See note on Matt. 1:18. Matthew 1:24 indicates that when the angel told Joseph about Mary’s pregnancy, he “took to him his wife”—i.e., he took her into his home. But they did not consummate their marriage until after the birth of Jesus (Matt. 1:25). Therefore, technically, they were still betrothed. John F. MacArthur, Jr., The MacArthur Study Bible, (Dallas: Word Publishing) 1997. Praise the Lord! Norm |

113 | Good Friday | Mark 8:31 | TheFinalSQL | 123684
In regard to annual celebrations: Galatians 4:8-11 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Here is what Jesus told us to do to celebrate/remember him: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Praise the Lord! Norm |

Add a few more: John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 115 | Where the Scriptual proof? | Mark 16:16 | TheFinalSQL | 111218
Here is how the thief was saved: Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. The account in the 7th chapter of Luke may provide a little more insight as to the greatest clause: Luke 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. No matter how good you are on earth. It is better to be in the kingdom of God. Praise the Lord! Norm |

117 | King of the jews | Luke 1:32 | TheFinalSQL | 118120
There is one Jew that attends the same church I do. He believes in Jesus Christ, so I do not think a blanket statement about Jews can apply. Most of the new testament was written by Jews. Judaism however, does not believe their king has come yet. Jesus was called king of the Jews by a Roman: John 19:19-22 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written. Here is what Jesus said on the subject: John 18:33-37 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Praise the Lord! Norm |

118 | Do we keep His commandments? | Luke 4:4 | TheFinalSQL | 110359
Regardless of the translation of Luke 4:4 other verses make it very clear: NASB Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. I myself prefer KJV: Ec 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. 120 | Bad is ok? | Luke 17:3 | TheFinalSQL | 119858
Will Jesus forgive you if you do not repent? Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Esau was not forgiven: Hebrews 12:16-17 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. Praise the Lord! Norm |
