101 | Will we be young in heaven? | Ps 51:5 | G. Preston | 232151
I am not aware the Bible speaks of age. However, it does address environment...serene...no pain, no illness, no death, happy, restful, peaceful, beautiful, no sin and eternal. I don't see age as being important. Remember we will all have new, immortal bodies. When we apply the above into a mental picture I think it is fair to say it is inviting and a place we should all want to be. Don't you? |

BradK, I don't believe the Bible is as complex as some suggests. Debating scriptures is very interesting and I enjoy it...for Christ. However, I have found that addressing one point at a time is better because ,many novices of His word tunes in and they are critical in the working for Christ. Co-mingling thoughts is not wise in my opinion. Thus my approach. |

BradK, What is meant when John was baptizing Christ and he asked..."Rabbi...why MUST it be"? (Christ replied ..."for completeness".) John didn't say...should be...may be...can be...etc....he said "must" be). Many other references but, lets start with this one. |

BradK, Your last thought must be addressed first; We are not perfect in our actions thus the need for Christ's blood shed...for forgiveness. G-d knows what is in lour heart. When we sin...if we are sincerly in Christ..we will feel terrible...thus the heart is troubled. Christ provides forgiveness. ..thru grace. Performing the three things prepares us for advancing our state of rightousness. Unless they are first in place...all other actions are for nye. |

Tim, I understand your comments. However, it is a "slant" of which we can find many.... in different translations. We must remember there are only three things we need to know from the Bible to receive eternal salvation; 1) We must repent of our sins...I believe the Bible teaches we must do that outwardly...in front of the world, at the alter...acknowledging G-d as our creator and ask Him for forgiveness of our sins. 2)I believe the Bible teaches that we must be baptized...a symbolic washing in the Blood of The Lamb thereby acknowledgeing Him as Our Savior. 3) We then must live a righteous life by following His Law..the Ten Commandments. The Bible presents these basic things in many different ways...designed to be understood by all. Who the scarlet clothed lady on the horse in Rev. 16-17...while interesting to study...has nothing to do with our Salvation. We must be reminded...Atheists, agnostics and other AC folks come in the back door attempting infusing of conflict and degredation of G-ds' word while going to the bank with millions for a new translation. Shame on we Christians who participate in the process and fail to object..strongly! I,for one will have no part in that process. |

117 | left behind/rapture | 1 Thessalonians | G. Preston | 231652
"Rapture".... is man's reference word to capture the Bible wording of...'being taken up'. If I underdstand your writing correctly...you have it reversed. The ones being taken up(Raptured) are the sleeping(dead)and live repented/Baptised and righteous members of God's body of followers....often referred to as the ..."Philadelphia Church". According to scriptures those left behind will go through the tribulation period. |
