Hi African Venus, Aaron is said to be the first of the priests of Israel: However, during the conflicts between the Midianites and Israel, according to chapter 25 and 31 of Numbers, he was not present in this particular era of time. Nevertheless, God made a covenant of peace with the children of Israel, declared war via Moses, with the people of Midian, but Aaron was not there. However, in my previous reply to your question; in error I placed Aaron at the scene. It wasn’t Aaron, but his descendant Phinehas son of Eleazar. . As for Aaron, he was already deceased in Numbers chapter 20:28, this oversight on my behalf was ignorance (Lack of knowledge): evidently, God is not finish with me, as of yet. In any case, Twenty-four thousand people had died from a plague: related to sinful acts, committed by the Midian and Israel people, while indulging in the worshiper of other gods. Remember, that God clearly stated in Exodus chapter 20, that He is a Jealous God. Based on Phinehas reactions to the sinful adapted lifestyle of Israel, and his zealous honor for God: the lord God honored the intent of Phinehas heart, and made atonement for the Israelites Num.25. I hope this somewhat clears up this matter; and I apologized for any confusion it may have caused. “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace….” 1 Cor.14: 33. Emmaus, thanks for notes on subject, may God richly bless your ministry. Edd |

103 | Is believing a verb or a noun | John 3:16 | Edd | 119270
Believing is a Person, Place and Thing. Believing: is a Person in the sense of Jesus; whom the world must believe that he is the Son of God, in order to be saved from the pending wrath of God: on Judgment Day. He that believe and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believe not shall be damned, St. Mark 16:16. Jesus also said, truly, truly I say unto you, He that believes on me hath everlasting life. I am the bread of life, St. John 6:47-48. Believing: in a Place called Heaven; “and I John saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven …” Rev.21: 1-2. Believing: is a Thing called faith, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1, but without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that come to him must believe that he is…. Heb.11: 6. Jesus said “ Have faith in God” St. Mark 11:22. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake, which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” Rev.21: 8. Therefore, Believing is a noun, with some good old fashion broken English action, as in the King James Version of the Bible. Edd |

104 | What is Christianity? | John 3:16 | Edd | 119244
Hi Chummpy, Followers of teaching and examples of Jesus Christ, People whom accepts Jesus as the Messiah, Son of God; are called Christian. First noted in the book of Acts 11:26, at the church of Antioch. On the other hand Christianity, as in denominations, entail varies belief systems, In such cases, Christianity is a word of division; which could be viewed as a religious way of life; rooted in rituals, traditions and high ethical standards: open to varies doctrines. Not necessarily align with, and committed to Christ’s commandments or his absolute moral teaching. However, according to scriptures in St. Matthews 7:21-23, it explained the danger of profession without faith. “ Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers!” |

106 | How does God help us break addictions? | Rom 13:14 | Edd | 119145
SAZ, Pray without ceasing, pray about everything, the good, the bad and the ugly, before, during and after every event, in all circumstance. For example, Cry out to God, saying, please have mercy on me, deliver me from myself. This is called spiritual warfare; enemy is Satan. He comes to kill, steal and destroy by means necessary. Therefore, prepared yourself “Put on the whole Armour Of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6.11). “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kind of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6.18). Now is the time to use your weapon of prayer to seek God’s divine intervention to break this addiction. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds”(2 Cor.10.4). Christ said, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last” (Rev.22.13). God is in control, all power is in Christ hand; power to give life, power to take life away, power to heal the sick and raised the dead, all power is in Jesus Christ’s hand. We are as clay in a potters hands: being shaped and molded in to God’s divine purpose, Pray that Christ delivers the person in the addiction situation, that they may know that it is his hand that do it. Hi African Venus Under the Mosaic Covenant given to Israel are the commandments Thou shalt have no other gods before me… Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God. Out of these and other laws came the righteous will of God, these ordinances of God formed one religious system to govern the people of Israel. Failure to comply was accompanied by Judgment, condemnation and of death. However, in today’s period of time we are under the new covenant of grace. Unlike the Midianites or people of ancient time faced swifter judgment of God, truly different dispensation. The Midianites you are referring to, were people whom worship other gods, not the God of Israel, Numbers chapter 25, But the Israeli joined themselves to Midianites sinful social lifestyle. Their action caused the anger of the Lord to kindle against Israel, Num.25.3. However, The priest Aaron pleased the lord, by doing so he turned God’s wrath away from the children of Israel. God said “ I consumed not the children of Israel in my Jealousy.” Num.25.11. God was not pleased with Midianites perversions of the Israelites. Therefore, swift Judgment was on the Midianites “ and the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, vex the Midianites and smite them, Num.25.16-17. During the war in Numbers chapter 31, one can see that God favor the children of Israel: honoring his own commandments, using the people of Israel to reveal his displeasure with any person(s) given over to a sinful nature. The ultimate consequent of sin is death, if there is no atonement or high priest intervention such as Christ intervening on our behalf. Edd |

108 | Numbers 31:2-10 | Josh 13:20 | Edd | 118941
Hi African Venus, It is strange that your Professor would make this an example of genocide when there is no archaeological remains to be attributed to the Midianites, where is the evidences. Outside of the Bible, very little is known about this tribal group. Therefore, according to the Bible, Yes there were conflicts, but to conclude that God supported the deliberate extermination of a nation or people (genocide) is far fetch ideology. God loves People, but hates sin. Through the bible I somewhat understand God’s concern about the sins of Midianites and Israelis and others, but I don’t think God makes decision based on race. Beside he created the human race and located people in varies parts the world. I believe God will defeat all sin, to the point death. However, if we began to label wars as acts of genocide, especially in this particular situation between the Midianites and Israel, this action could be viewed as Israel perpetrating genocide against the people Midian.Which is not a good view of God's biblical chosen People. If your professor claims of SUPPORTED BY GOD were valid, I believe it will surround issues of sin not ethnic cleansing. Ask your Professor to clarify position, but be careful your GPA is at stake. What's the big picture here? |
