Greetings, Here is another way that might help. James 1:21 (KJV) 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. The word engrafted is translated from the Koine Greek word EMPHYTOS which means impregnated but keep the following in mind. John 1:13 (KJV) 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Those who are born again or saved have only God to thank. Those who are lost or unsaved have only themselves to blame. The relationship with God must be by consent! The consent is given when one trust in the finished work Of the Lord Jesus Christ. 108 | Knowing the Word | Jer 8:7 | CDBJ | 233203
Greetings, I have reference to just such a predicament. Acts 13:48 in comparison to II Pet. 3:9 Acts 13:48 (KJV) 48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. The previous is an example of God’s sovereign decision. The following doesn’t play out correctly when considering God’s will, which is also His sovereign decision, i.e. what God desires, He is able to perform! 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If mans repentance toward God is actually a direct act of God according to Acts 13:48, and if God on the other hand desires for all to be saved, i.e. His will, why doesn’t He so decree that all should be saved? We know for a fact that there are more lost then there are saved. Matthew 7:14 (KJV) 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (God’s provision verses man’s responsibility) I have been trying to figure this one out for close to 47 years now, CDBJ |

110 | Why does God respect Satan's opinion | Job 1:8 | CDBJ | 233072
Greetings, If we are ignorant of God’s Word and suffer as a result, (“Man... how I suffer because of ignorance, and God bothers in making evil spirits aware of the mysteries of life, while we have to be groping in the dark like Job....”) It’s because we have neglected to be obedient to God’s command to us. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The word “study” in the previous verse is the Koine Greek word “SPUDAZO” and it is in the imperative mood and the active voice which means you are to produce the action and the imperative mood means it is commanded by the Lord. By not doing this it will put one out of fellowship and your growth will be stunted. In order to grow “in Christ” we are constantly put to the test to see if we will apply Bible doctrine to our experiences or fail by trying to sustain ourselves through the energy of the flesh which is nothing more then responding to the dictates of our old sin nature. This grieves the Holy Spirit who is our personal teacher and retards the super natural way of life that’s provided for us by the Father. Christ always used Bible doctrine to combat the cosmos attacks of spiritual wickedness. Do your self a big favor and get more involved with the intake of Bible doctrine on a daily basis! Have a great day, CDBJ |

111 | Why does God respect Satan's opinion | Job 1:8 | CDBJ | 233066
Greetings, It’s God’s way of showing Satan that he is barking up the wrong tree and with it he is able to bless Job beyond measure while still in this life. Now you can answer a question for me, one of the same nature. Why did Christ give those spirits in prison a lesson on the failure of their intended mission? 1 Peter 3:18B-20 but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The left their first estate in order to corrupt the seed of mankind so that the Messiah couldn’t come in the flesh from the seed of a totally human woman, but why did Christ have to show them that the weren’t successful in their endeavor ; they didn’t deserve to know? 112 | Can anyone explain Mat 24:15? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232770
That is well established in II Thess 2:3-10 but most American’s have been convinced contrary to the teachings of Christ and Paul. They have been duped into believing that they won’t see these things happen and that the Church won’t have to endure any persecution from the antichrist. This is also referred to as Daniel’s 70th week and the time of Jacobs trouble. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10 (KJV) 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. The day spoken of is the return of Christ for His Church. NOTICE the first words of the verse both here and in Matt. 24:4 Don’t let anyone deceive you into thinking differently. 113 | Who raised Tabitha from the dead? | NT general | CDBJ | 232416
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I believe you might be looking for Acts 9:36-40 Acts 9:36-40 (KJV) 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Where is it exactly in Scripture where it says that the angles are non male and non female; that’s a new one on me? I think you will find that it says the following: Matthew 22:30 (KJV) 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. All angels are male in gender to the surprise of most but the Bible doesn’t say that they a sexless. CDBJ |

115 | how do you serve in spirit | John 4:23 | CDBJ | 232324
Greetings and welcome to the forum. John 4:23-24 (KJV) 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. This is a reference to the filling of the Spirit and Bible doctrine; not some emotional nonsense. CDBJ |

116 | Baptizedwithoutproperintentions | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232217
Welcome to the forum. I was “baptized” when I was a baby but according to Scripture was it really baptism? Just because someone sprinkled a little water on me and pronounced a few words that are mentioned in the Bible that doesn’t constitute real water baptism. Look what the prerequisite for baptism is in the book of Acts. Acts 8:35-39 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Notice what was ask of the one who of “his own free will” believed in Jesus. Again he wasn’t baptized because of what someone else believed but what he himself personally believed. The one being baptized asked this question; “what doth hinder me to be baptized?” The only hindrance before one can be truly baptized is personal faith alone in the person of Jesus Christ. Philip said,” If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. I would assume that the eunuch had water with him because one doesn’t venture out into a desert without it, yet the Bible says they both needed to go down into the water, which suggest how one is to be baptized, i.e. total submersion, which is how it was done. I was, later in life, actually baptized the real way, after I thoroughly trusted in Jesus as my own personal Saviour this required being “buried” with Him in baptism. I hope this helps and that you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

119 | Is there a bible verse that means this? | Rom 8:28 | CDBJ | 232180
Greetings and welcome to the forum. When I first started reading the Bible for my self I was given a very good peace of information that turned out to be very informative. I would like to pass this on to you and if used, will save you a lot of time and confusion. You seem to be following the same pattern that I pursued which lead to many misunderstandings of Scripture. The best interpretation of the Bible is the Bible it’s self. The best advice I was given was to read through the New Testament no less then three times before ever venturing into any of the Old Testament and before reading, always ask the Lord to reveal the truth of His Word to you. The best news that I found was that eternal life is a free gift from God and that when God gives that free gift you will have not doubt that you have eternal life right here and now. It can’t be earned and it doesn’t depend on us but Jesus and the fact that He paid the price that God requires for our salvation. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Some of the most fantastic promises that God has offered us are found in the book of John’s gospel. God can’t lie and we must depend on this fact and claim those promises! Have a great day and stick to the Word, CDBJ |

120 | Question on Hymn of Invitation tradition | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232171
Greetings, Asking Jesus to come into one’s heart is like inviting Christ into a sewer. Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? It seems as though in most of the churches and services today that people are being ask to jump through man’s psychological hoop in order to be saved; the Word of God establishes the guide lines not man!!!!! The bigger one then this is, “asking God to forgive you”; who knows where they dug this up from but is sure isn’t found in the Word of God. Jesus said the following, Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. The word repent is from the word, METANOEO in the Greek and it’s a compound word meaning to “change” one’s “mind” about the person of Christ and who He is. The most common denominator is found in the following verses and it’s the reason for the whole gospel of John. John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. The problem now days resides in the confusing word “believe”, i.e. PISTEUO in the Koine Greek of the New Testament. One can’t just give mental assent to the person of Christ that He existed and have eternal life; they must completely place “all of their hopes for eternal life” is the “finished work” that Christ did for them on the cross. If “anything is added” to this faith alone in Christ alone, for all intent and purposes they aren’t truly saved. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. The gift of God is eternal life which is given freely to those that have the son residing in them. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Here is the statement that settles it all. 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
