101 | What constitutes 'abuse' on the forum? | Acts 17:11 | Asis | 94505
Graceful It is a shame that we "christians," little Christs, don't know who we are in Christ. We are more concerned with some point of doctrine that doesn't concern the majority of those who hear it. You see we can argue what happened during the three days Jesus spent in the earth, setting captives free (my paraphrase), conquering death, smashing the gates of Hades, or we can shout to the heavens that He is risen and has given all of us eternal life and salvation and a job. But noooo we prefer to argue the letter of the word and not walk in and teach the spirit of the word. We spend way too much time telling others that they are wrong. rather than instructing believers in the life of victory. It will be better when we die and go to heaven. What about here? We need to tell each other what the word says about our condition here on this earth now as believers in the Messiah. We should tell the saints of God what He has done so we might be His intruments of righteousness HERE. His light HERE. His salt HERE. We need to spread the good news of the Kingdom of God to those who are still in the kingdom of dakness. Tell all the people that they don't have to be buffeted about like a cork in the ocean by an enemy that has been paralized by our High Priest, by our Brother Jesus the Messiah. We need to equip the saints for the ministry of reconciliation not confrontation. Show the world that the love of God is so great it breaks the yoke of all that binds us. Tell all the world that we are "Free at last, Free at last, Thank God Almighty we are Free at last" Here on this earth by the power and the might of God Almighty through Jesus the Messiah. But no, we of the forum are defenders of the faith not exhorters of the faith. Graceful, I want to tell you that you are the righteousness of God just because you believe. You are God's daughter (I think you are a woman, if I'm wrong I appologuize and tell you are a son of God) and a joint heir with Jesus. You have been indwelt with the Spirit of God Almighty. You have recieved a new nature that has wiped away ALL the old that you were and He has filled you with newness of life which is from and of Him. He has removed your citizenship of this world and transfered you and given you citizenship in the Kingdom of His Son. You have been given a most precious faith so you might partake of God's divine nature by His placing YOU IN CHRIST JESUS. And by Him and through Him and in Him YOU can do ALL things. He has given you the mind of Christ. AND BY ALL HE HAS DONE WE CAN DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL!!!! HALLELUJAH (a jewish word meaning PRAISE THE LORD). Take heart woman of God, leave these childish things to the children and do that which I have called you to do. Your friend in Christ Jeff |

Are you saying that if we mess up and quench the Spirit or disobey the leading of the Spirit of God we have rejected God forever? I thought there was nothing we could ever do to turn God's love from us. The unforgiveable sin of blaspheme of the Holy Spirit would seem to be the only thing that could ever separate us from God. 103 | What is "this attitude?" | Phil 3:15 | Asis | 93247
mommapbs . . .I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. We are leave behind us and the everything that is of the world. We are cleansed by the blood of Christ from all unrighteousness. But we are given to God by the Cross. We are basptized in Christ's death and ressurected in newness of life. This is a fact and God has done it even though we might not have a revelation of it personally. Paul did. He left all he had in his "old life" behind. Even considered it trash in comparison to what he had attained in his "new life", given to him by God though Jesus. Even the sufferings he had to endure are better than anything the world had to offer because he suffered them for Christ's sake. He wanted to be known by one thing and that was to be "found in Him". When we, as Paul tells us, realize, have, a personal experience, revelation knowledge of what God has done through the life, crucifixtion, and resurrection of Jesus, we will know that the loss of all things is gain. Philip. 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, [KJV] I will, am suffering the loss of all things that I may gain Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing). If I hold even one thing back I hold it in greater esteem than Christ. Jesus says "Follow Me." Have we gotten up and left all behind and followed Him. We must continue In Him until we attain that which we do not have. . . resurrected bodies. Then we will be complete. Just some thoughts Asis |

104 | It all comes down to the Word of faith | Rom 10:8 | Asis | 93242
Does this passage mean that the apostle Paul was a word of faith preacher? We must take God's word to be true on Faith. Yet I wonder if we live life as if God's word is true. God has given us ALL Things. However a great many of us live struggling. We are overcomers. Sons and Daughters of God but we live like we are the offspring of the down trodden. We have the access to victory in life, every aspect of life because we have ALL THINGS through Him. ALL THINGS have been made subject to Him and we are in Him. Do we live as one who has dominion over their life? Do we know who we are? Have we died with Christ and now live for God or is there still some of US hanging around doing stuff. Do we believe what God has said He has done or are we determined to do it OUR WAY. Think about it. Are we atuggling to do something that God has already done? How much of the word in the New Testament is written in the past tense or the aorist tense? Let Go and Let God Ref: Rom 8:14,33 Rom 11:36 1 Cor 15:27,28 1 Cor 1:30 Rom 6:6 Gal 2:20 Gal 5:24 Gal 6:14 |

Hank, how is the "splintered church" a thing that makes all doctrine important. How did the church get splintered? Who splintered it? Did Christ? I would think that Christ wants a unified church. It seems to me that we need to look at all scripture and not just that which supports our beliefs. When we look at scripture in this way we are saying, "We have it right. You are wrong." Who are we to say such a thing. Did we instruct God? Do we have a complete understanding of all that He has put in the scriptures. Are all the mysteries revealed to us? Are you saying that unless we all subscribe to the "The Baptist Faith and Message" (this is a metaphor for all demoninational doctrine) we have it wrong? I guess that must be why we are a splintered church. Have we stopped being teachable. Do we have an attitude of knowing more than the teacher. That is what needs to be exposed for what it is, and cast away as worthless chaff. -- Asis

108 | What does "being a homosexual" mean? | Rom 1:19 | Asis | 91811
Well said Megiddo We are told to judge the sin not the sinner. I can abhor the idea of practising homosexuality yet have compassion on those who think they trapped in that behavior. We must be careful when we judge because we set the parameters of our own judgement by how and why we judge. We are told that no man knows the things of a man (1 Cor 2:11), which tells us we do not know the heart of another except by the Spirit of God. Those of us who struggle with beleiving God, that we are dead to a particular sin and desire to put it away, yet have not reached that point of breaking relations with it, repent each time we find ouselves inexplicably back in the sin (i.e. pornography, alcoholism, drug addiction perscription and ilicit, gossip, lust, etc.). Our heart is to give it all up yet we seem to not be able to control ourselves. . . Are we as disciples of Jesus to condemn those who struggle. Were we condemned when we first believed and sinned or did we find that when we first believed we sinned no more. Are not those who profess Jesus and have a heart towards God God's business? not ours. Can we afford to judge them? I think not. We are to be in Christ. It is Christ who lives in us not us. We are to love as He loved, Have compassion as He had compassion, Heal those who He would heal? Are those homosexuals around us seeing the love of Christ in our lives, especially in how we relate to them? The bigger question is, "Are we taking in what the Bible says about our behavior and our relationship with God (the spirit of the word) or are we merely making a list of behaviors we must follow (the letter of the word) to be in right standing with God?" Just look at David. Are any of us any different? Enough. . . I step off the soap box. NEXXXT GENTLEMAN or GENTLEWOMAN. Asis |

Hank I prefer a scholar in the language to be translated rather than a theologian. One or many the better the translator is aquainted with all the idiosyncrasies of a language the better they are able to give a translation accurate to the indended meaning of the written word. Such as Kittel (although I don't think he wrote a translation) or Bullinger. I would like an accurate history of the events which prompted the letters written by the New Testament writers. So we could look at the letters in the context to the situations they were addressing in the eklessia they were written to. Asis |

Radioman2 We must always be watchful of what man says about the Bible whether a Dakes or a NIV study bible or a Ryrie. Man's part is just that. Man's interpretation of what the Scriptures mean. 112 | What did Jesus mean by this | Mark 9:23 | Asis | 91648
The faith that we have comes from us. Then when we believe it comes from Jesus. What about Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [KJV] Do you think the faith that Jesus saw in those people whose infirmities he healed was faith given them by God? Peter call Jesus the Messiah and Jesus said that knowledge came from God not man. Couldn't God have given those who believed that Jesus was the Messiah the faith required to believe He could heal the diseases? Now that we believe God, when we hear the word faith comes and we appropriate it. We make part of us and call it my faith. Are we not also to be established in righteousness given us just because we believe God (Romans 3:21-22) Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. [KJV] Jesus told us to have the "God kind of faith" Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [KJV] Literally, "Have the faith of God." Such is possible or it would not be a command. Man was created with God's faith but doubt entered in at the fall (Genesis 3:1-7). Faith is restored in the new birth and if normally exercised and maintained it will grow to fullness and power (Romans 1:5,17; Romans 10:17; Galatians 2:20; Col. 1:23; Col. 2:6-7; 2 Thes. 1:3; 2 Peter 1:1-5). Ken Why would God honor a faith that comes from our "Old Man" to bring into exixtance our new nature when He says in Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. [KJV] Doesn't this verse tell us if it is of our making then it is like filthy rags to God? Asis |

114 | What did Jesus mean by this | Mark 9:23 | Asis | 91475
Good Evening Ken Jesus was stating the power of faith. Even a faith as a mustard seed, which is a very small seed, is capable of doing whatever we say. We can speak to our troubles in faith and see them move. Faith even mustard seed faith can move mountains. Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. [KJV] Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. [KJV] Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. [KJV] Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. [24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. [KJV] Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. [KJV] John 14:12-15 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. [13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. [15] If ye love me, keep my commandments. [KJV] John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. [KJV] John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. [KJV] The reality of wonder-working faith is that our hearts are after Jesus so our words are according to our love for Him. It is not about selfish things it is about asking for God things. PastorFloyd it is good to see that someone else is reading What God is telling His people instead of concentrating on just words. God has given us a picture of people's walk with Him in Exodus. He led the children of Israel through the wilderness by a pillar of fire by night and one of smoke by day. I am sure that as God had them stay in one place for a time and then the pillar started to move that some of them decided to stay where they were because they were familiar with the terrain. Imagine them watching as God moved away from them. How good they felt in the comfort zone. Until they realized that they had let themselves be removed from the presence of God. I know this is just a thought something contrary to some on the forum, but sometimes I just wonder. Anyway God led them around the desert until all those who had unbelief had died. Them He led the remainder into the Promised Land (I wonder what that represents). They crossed the Jordan river and the pillars ceased. Now they had to walk by faith and not by sight. They believed Numbers 23:19 as we do. They had chosen life not death. Pastor, remember Romans 3:3-4 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? [4] God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. [KJV] I believe if God said it, it is so. We should take the Bible at face value. All that God has done is for now not when we get to heaven. Power in the Holy Ghost is for now. The gifts of the Spirit are for now. The fruit of the Spirit is for us now. Abundant life is for us now. I wonder what abundant life means. It must mean I must suffer abundantly. Yeah that is what my Father who gives better gifts than us wants for our lives. To think that all this started with someone wanting to know what being overcome by the power of God meant. John 18:4-7 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? [5] They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. [6] As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. [7] Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. [KJV] Rev. 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [KJV] Fell back and down by the power of Jesus words. Fell down AS DEAD. Hmmph I wonder if that is the same as . . . no it couldn't be. Pastor Floyd take heart there are those who believe all things are possible to those who believe God. A great many of us. Yours in Christ Jeff |

118 | what is the gift of Moses? | Lev 14:4 | Asis | 89757
Title: Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament Author: Barnes, Albert See thou tell no man—This command is to be understood as extending only to the time until he had made the proper representation to the priest. It was his duty to hasten to him immediately Lev. 14:2 (2“This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. Now he shall be brought to the priest,) ; not to delay by talking about it, but, as the first thing, to obey the laws of God, and make proper acknowledgments to him by an offering. The place where this cure was performed was in Galilee, a distance of 40 or 50 miles from Jerusalem; and it was his duty to make haste to the residence of the priest, and obtain his sanction to the reality of the cure. Perhaps, also, Christ was apprehensive that the report would go “before” the man if he delayed, and the priest, through opposition to Jesus, might pronounce it an imposition. And offer the gift that Moses commanded—That Moses directed to be offered by a leper when he was cured. That gift consisted of “two birds alive and clean, cedar-wood, scarlet, and hyssop,” Lev. 14:4. For a testimony unto them—Not to the priest, but to the people. Show thyself to the priest, and get his testimony to the reality of the cure, as a proof to the people that the healing is genuine. It was necessary that he should have that testimony before he could be received to the congregation or allowed to mingle with the people. Having this, he would be, of course, restored to the privileges of social and religious life, and the proof of the miracle, to the people, would be put beyond a doubt. I hope this answers your question. It shows that Jesus indeed did not abolish the Law but was the fulfillment of it. |

Hello Hank. I hope this note finds you well. There are those who see Jesus and look to Him for what He can do for them. They recognize that He is the Son of God and even believe in their heart that He died for them and rose after three days and now sits at the right hand of the Father but that is as far as it goes. Albiet that is pretty far but it is not what Jesus wants from us. They recognize Him but have no relationship with Him. Jesus did not proclaim the mysteries of God to the followers. He did reveal them to those who are close to Him. Matt. 13:10 through Matt. 13:12 (ASV) 10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath. The multitudes followed and heard parables but the disciples heard the deep things of God, even to the extent that some were so hard to grasp that they left Him to walk with Him no more. There is a difference between those who follow Jesus and those who walk with Him. Does this answer your query? Have I made my statement clear? Do you need more detail? Am I off base? Matt. 4:25 (KJV) 25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. Matt. 8:1 (KJV) 1When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Matt. 8:10 (KJV) 10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Matt. 12:15 (KJV) 15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Matt. 19:27 through Matt. 19:30 (KJV) 27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. 30But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. Mark 6:1 (KJV) 1And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. John 6:60 through John 6:66 (KJV) 60Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Matt. 8:23 (KJV) 23And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. |

Graceful: How does Ephes. 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [KJV] fit in what you are discussing. We all have a obligation to seek the truth through study of God's word. If we desire to be disciles and not just followers of Christ, it absolutely necessary that we study. I think that the gifts of Jesus, the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and the teacher, are necessary to bring us from follower to disciple. Ephes. 4:12-15 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: [KJV] Thank you Lord Jesus.
