101 | Are apostles the same as evangelists? | Matt 28:19 | lionheart | 212726
humility, In accordance with Matt 28:18-20 we are all evangelist, Now look at Luke 6:13- And when day came, He called His disciples to him and chose twelve of them. whom he also named as apostles: Notice what everyone of them had in common is firstly they were with him, they saw him. Now bring Paul into the picture and he refers to himself as one born out of season. Jesus appeared to him ( The road to Damascus.) The criteria for apostleship is pretty clear. One question for you now, In light of these scripture do we have apostles today? In Him, lionheart |

Kcabml4, The subject of sanctification is vitally important when Jesus tells us we are not of this world. The word sanctify means to set apart. In simple terms, we live in the world but it's not our home. We now belong to God and live by His Word and no longer by the standards of this world. In Him, lionheart |

105 | who was Jesus talking about | Acts 19:15 | lionheart | 210871
jchelve, Glad to have you here with us. Matthew 7:22 get's batted around allot in today's church. We hear term like backsliding or people who have quote unquote lost thier salvation. Back in the time this was wrote Matthew 7:22 was not understood in those terms and shouldn't be today either. When Jesus made this statement it wasn't He didn't KNOW them it was he never knew them, meaning he never had a relationship with them. There are allot counterfeits and false teachers out there. Some of them are even amongst us today. Peter and John spend allot of time on this subject, so does Paul. Acts 19:15 is one of a number examples provided for us in scripture. In Him, lionheart |

108 | Is not Jesus the true God?I Jon 5:20 | Titus 2:13 | lionheart | 208926
Timoteoarao, Having come out of a cult almost twenty years ago I can tell you this. These groups like the one I was in for seven and a half years will teach that Jesus was The Son of God but not God. And let me tell you they could take you to the Bible make it look good. My council to you is to spend time with God and His Word every day. 2 Tim 2:15 study it make it your own. Jesus is who the bible says He is who He says he is. When we keep our hearts and minds in the Word daily then we too will know beyond the shadow of a doubt who Jesus is. These groups all have an agenda and it can be easy to get fooled. Be a 2 tim 2:15 disciple Jesus Christ you will go far. Look at Titus 2:13 this will help you too. In Him, lionheqart |

110 | ... | 2 Cor 11:2 | lionheart | 208331
yearegods, Welcome to the forum. In 2 Corinthians 11:2 the word for jealous is the Greek word zelos-- Ardent concern, zeal, enthusiasm. Now look at Acts 7:9 and 17:5 the word jealous here is the Greek word zelloo- envious,to experience morally corrupt zealous ill will. With cases like this there can be multiple usages for a single word. Usage and context are vitally important to any study of God's Word. Look at these passages of scripture and you'll get an idea of what I'm saying here. In Him, lionheart |

111 | Any thoughts? | Lev 26:1 | lionheart | 208150
Eli Marez, Greetings and welcme to the forum. Glad to have you. Have you read all of Leviticus 26. I'm glad you brought this up. Romans 15:4 tells us that His Word was written for our learning and for our encouragement. The Old Testament is a picture or patern if you will for what he was going to do for the whole world by His Son. Lev 26 is one of those sections of scripture allot of us have read through a hundred time and then one day you open it up and it's like your reading it for the first time. Leviticus 26 is huge in what our attitude of heart should be and how it relates to the promises of God for all of us. What do you think? I look forward to hearing from you. In Him. lionheart |

113 | Laying hands on someone? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 207545
Jesus_Keeps_Me, It's not so much in the laying on of hands as it is in the prayer involved. It's the prayer that will move God's heart. Touch can be very healing but we need to exercise allot of Godly wisdom and judgement when doing so as that may not be appropriate in many cases. Example- I spent part of this past weekend in the hospital and was discharged late Saturday afternoon. As I was sitting out front waiting on my ride they brought an individual by ambulance. The vast majority of the time my bible goes where ever I go. This happened to be one of those times. As they were taking this person into the emergency room one of his family members thinking I was the hospital chaplain asked me if I would pray for who I assumed was her husband. I explained to her that while wasn't the chaplain that I would be happy to pray for her loved one. Ya see we intercede as Jesus our High Priest intercedes for us. It's God that will bring the healing or strength to bare up. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

115 | Heb6:4-6 Loosing salvation or what? | Heb 6:4 | lionheart | 207535
Beja, One does not nor neither can they lose their salvation. Now walking away from God is a whole other story. 1 John 3:7-9 case in point, Most will agree that we all sin every single day conscious or otherwise. Now we as disciples of Jesus Christ can do one of two things, We can repent 1 John 1:9 and continue in faith with our Lord and Savior or we can willfully choose to continue to continue in the sin that we get ourselves into 1 John 3:9 in which case that individual puts his/her self in grave danger. Folks it's up to individuals (disciples) to nurture and cultivate their walk with God daily. If we choose not to do so....? In Him, lionheart |

116 | What did it mean to be "put out"? | John 9:34 | lionheart | 207339
lor1960, Good day to ya and welcome to the forum. As this would apply to the church Paul is pretty clear in 1 Corinthians chapter 5 and he also discusses those who willfully cause division within the fellowship. 2 Corinthians 2:5-8 while not specifically talking about bringing these folk back into the fellowship it does address what our attitude of heart should be. Disfellowshipment was and is not meant to be permanent but with the view of restoring the brother or sister dependent on thier repentece and change of heart. In Him, lionheart |

119 | Who constitutes the church? | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 206005
immanuelsown, Welcome to the forum. Denominationalism has been an age old debate and remains so today in some circles. There is no one denomination to define the body.(ecclesia) Church when we speak 0of God's church consists of all born again believers in Jesus Christ. You've chosen a good passage of scripture in dealing with this. Perhaps a simple word study on the word one will help to give some more understanding for you. Take a good look at 1 Corinthians 12 where Paul talks about the church. (Many members but one body.) In Him, lionheart |
