101 | Is it a sin to run away from home? | John 16:33 | Timothy Paul | 47039
It is a sin to disrespect your parents. If your running away would cause them grief, then you would have to answer for that. Some children are, sadly, victimized by their parents, and I think God hates that sin worse. So if there is a substantial reason I would certainly think that it would not be a sin. Bless you, it is very hard to consider an answer without detailed information
102 | Whom should I direct my love and praise | John 14:5 | Timothy Paul | 47025
Greetings gk,:o) welcome to a wonderful site, I have lots of fun getting my questions answered. I believe that Jesus IS God as well as man. God is so perfectly holy that there can be no interaction between God, who is completely holy, and man, who is utterly sinful. That would be like trying to mix fire and water. This is why He sent Jesus, to create a bridge between man and God. This is why we pray "in the name of Jesus"
103 | What about abusive marriage? | Col 1:24 | Timothy Paul | 45379
While it is true that God Hates Divorce, my feelings are that He would hate the wife getting beat up More than He would hate divorce
104 | What about abusive marriage? | Col 1:24 | Timothy Paul | 45087
Cheryl May God Bless You for sharing your spirituality with us, and for making me, an infant in Christ feel welcome on this splendid site. My feelings are that we should always cater to our spouse, children, authorities, unless it conflicts with the will of God. That is, the Mosaic Law, and Christ's Teachings. does an abusive husband fit? I am against divorce too, and you are very blessed for your endurance in a painful situation. But I feel if you are not taking proper steps in turning this violence over to the authorities then you are allowing it and not doing the right thing. I do not know the whole situation so forgive me if i am wrong. I understand it's much more complicated than what you have put out for all eyes to read, bless you for that as well. Now,the Holy Spirit will rush to your rescue only if you do not have blockades against it. this includes the three areas of a Christian's life that are acceptable, your body, your spirit, and your estate. I would suggest, to gain help from above, that you seek it through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. In the grip of His Grace. Tim |

105 | So, not ALL suffering is included? | Col 1:24 | Timothy Paul | 44980
Cheryl, i don't think that suffering for the sake of it is included, but some kinds of unrelated suffering such as a thorn in one's side could possibly be spiritually advantageous incidentally, here is a note from the disciple's study bible: COLOSSIANS 1:24Evil and Suffering, Rejoicing—Christ’s suffering adequately atoned for sin. The church continues to suffer so all the world may know of and benefit from Christ’s atonement. Christians must continue the ministry and, therefore, the suffering of Jesus until He returns. Knowing the ultimate purpose of our suffering allows us to rejoice in it. We do not suffer for ourselves or for some mysterious evil force we do not understand. We suffer for Christ and His church. |
