101 | i want to no the truth | John 8:58 | Mommapbs | 135756
Jesus declared, "I and the Father are one." John 10:30. You claim to want to know the truth? Jesus is the Truth! He said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6 Jesus also said, "you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." John 8:32; What is keeping your belief captive? Mosa, you have been duly answered and directed to Scripture. May Jesus reveal Himself to you there; and may you come to exclaim like Thomas did when he saw Jesus, "My Lord and my God" John 20:28 Trusting God with the outcome of your search, mommapbs |

104 | Water alone means baptism? (Question 2) | John 3:5 | Mommapbs | 134747
Greetings Doc - the word that comes to mind is "cleansed." "But a voice from heaven answered a second time, 'What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.'Acts 11:9 Eph 5:26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, "And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' Act 11:16 Johns baptism was for the repentance of sins - Christ's baptism with the Holy Spirit is for our regeneration (the forgiveness of sins) - only God can forgive sin. Repentance precedes forgiveness. "Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also AFTER believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?" Acts 11:17 (EPH - mine) Heb 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. May the Lord bless you as you ponder His Word! mommapbs |

105 | how can I win the world as you said | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134689
You can't! No one can win the world! "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44 Blessings, mommapbs PS: However, there is a way to "gain the whole world" according to Jesus. Consider what we trade for it though! Mark 8:36 |

106 | Bibiography for the Holy Bible | 2 Pet 1:21 | Mommapbs | 134476
Greetings BHW - currently the Forum has been addressing the subject of the "inspired text" - meaning the ORIGINAL autographs vs translations that we possess today. Imo, the Bible needs no "bibliography!" All Scripture is inspired by God - 2 Tim 3:16 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, - 2 Peter 1:20 Blessisngs, mommapbs |

107 | traditions and tradition living | Col 2:8 | Mommapbs | 134420
Greetings - When we live our lives based upon our performance and the opinions of others we are living according to the empty and deceptive philosphy that is the basis for the traditions of men. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7). If we believe that we are who God says we are in Christ - forgiven, totally accepted, pleasing and complete in Him, we will live accordingly, with the objective of glorifiyng God in all things. How we dress will not be an issue. Although unique, IN Christ, we are all the same and each of us should be a reflection of God to the world. We honor Him when we honor how He made us. A woman can certainly reflect her femininity in slacks, and a man can reflect his masculinity in a kilt. I hope this helps you sort through the trap of legalism that is hinted at in your question. Blessings, mommapbs |

108 | (What is one to think???) | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 134370
Perry5 - you registered a little over a month ago. What is your purpose for posting here? It appears that your intent is to challenge the Christian faith rather than truly learn about it. Sadly, it appears that your mind is made up about God and His Word. You stated that God's Word is "A book of perversion and sin promoted to be the word of God by a self anointed people who view themselves as God's chosen people." If this is what you believe, then you are in violation of the Lockman Foundation's rules for posting "Postings must be Biblically based and not opposing to the authority of the Bible, Christianity, or the deity of Jesus Christ." If you believe that you need another "god" rather than the God of the Bible - you are wasting you time here. Be mindful that the decisions you make will determine your destiny. mommapbs |

112 | Dear Forum, can you verify my research? | John 1:1 | Mommapbs | 134102
Survivor - you have been asked repeatedly by different Forum members to declare yourself openly. Please respond to this re-post of #133165 Survivor: You could make life on the Forum much easier for yourself and the rest of us if you would merely answer the question that has been asked of you: Are you a Jehovah's Witness? And to see something about you in your user profile would also be nice. Cordially, --Hank I too would like an answer to this question. Thanks, mommapbs |

113 | Why did John TB question | Luke 7:20 | Mommapbs | 134081
Greetings Emmaus- In "Uprising" McManus offers this observation: John was in prison with the prospect of death at his door and although he had indeed witnessed the declaration of God at Christ's baptism, he still had some doubt about the Lord's role in his life - McManus suggests that John was asking if Jesus would intervene in his situation - to which the Lord encourages him with His response - the lame walk the blind see the dead are raised etc . . . and then He says, "blessed is he who does not take offense at Me." Meaning, don't give up - persevere in what you believe. imo, this is a mighty encouragement to believers who suffer and question "Why me?" Another observation that I would offer is that the question was for the benefit of John's followers rather than John himself. We can tell others about Jesus, but the reality of who He is must be given by God. ("No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44) Let us not lose sight of the order of our responsibilities and God's work. (I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 1 Cor 3:6) May this be an encouragement to you all today. Blessings, mommapbs |

116 | Comparing the way God leads.... | Acts 16:13 | Mommapbs | 133994
See verse 14 - notice how the "Lord opened her heart"? We would be wise to understand that apart from the working of the Holy Spirit, no one "shares" Christ. (See John 6:44) Blessings, mommapbs |

117 | How did God guide these missionaries? | Acts 16:6 | Mommapbs | 133993
The point is not "how" God guided but the fact that HE did the leading and Paul and Timothy obeyed. Notice that they were also prevented from sharing the Word? I'm wondering, how often do we run ahead of the Holy Spirit? Blessings, mommapbs |

120 | weather | Job 1:19 | Mommapbs | 133755
Greetings! Gen 1 tells us that God has created everything. Weather is part of HIS creation. God has established all the priciples that are involved in earth's weather - the sun, the position of the earth, air, water, etc. Even though the activities of mankind have influenced our weather, (acid rain, global warming, depletion of the ozone, etc) God has made all of those things too! See 1 Kings 17:14 and Luke 8:22-25 for an answer to your second question! Blessings, mommapbs |
