101 | Is there a reason to debate? | Eph 4:13 | justme | 219925
Is not the real truth, that Jesus Christ died and rose again? If you think it was Thursday or Friday that Jesus died on the cross, the real fact is Jesus is alive! I doubt anyone will change my opinion that Friday was the day jesus died on the crosss. For those who think it was another day I am sure their mind can not be changed either. This debate is like how many angels can stand on the head of a needle. Jesus lives and so we all can indeed celebrate the brith of Jesus Christ! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL justme |

102 | Request and a Question | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 219460
I am rather frustrated and have a question and request. The question is why some newer participants on the Study Bible Forum have not gone to the Updade User Info. and given something about yourselves. After 10 or 15 posts it would seem you would want to post something about yourselves. Why not join the rest of us? In the book of Acts is where bleievers started to be called Christians. Why would anyone so reject using the name to be called by as Christians? Are you ashamed of the wonderful name of Christ to the point you are rejecting or ashamed of Christ? When believers reject the name of Christ there is a serious flaw in your thinking. Why are you timid about carring the name of Christian, when Christ died so you could bare His name? Personally I think no one should be allowed to post more than twenty times before using the Update User Info. or you are not allowed to post anymore until you do. Any thoughts on this idea? justme |

104 | Correct Understanding of verses? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 219202
I was reading a note written by our dear Brother Hank, who now is with the Father the Son and Holy Spirit. Hank wrote this back in 2001, so his wisdon continues on. Hank suggested the person read Titus 3:9. Hank was in a dialogue about the LAW. Recent there has been some dialogue abouth this very subject. It pains me that those who believe the keeping of the LAW are so adamant that those who do not believe the way they do, are or as I understand their dialogue, not true believers. My question is keeping the LAW not more than just keeping the Ten Commandments? I believe there are many more rules besides the Ten Comandments, is this not so? I think Hebrews 6:4-6 addresses this, am I correct in this understanding of these verses. I know these are a good number of questions. I am seeking to see if my understanding of the above questions is correct or am I in error. Thank you for you time to answer my questions. justme |

105 | TNIV ended and new NIV release ? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 219008
A fellow Christian Book store employee ttold me he was told the TNIV has stopped production due to dismal sales. That the revised NIV to be out in 2011 will be a blending of the TNIV and NIV. Has anyone had more factual word on this? Personally I (along with our dear brother Hank and many others who of you previewed found the TNIV) think the TNIV was at best a serious mistake. So no great loss to dump the TNIV. Perhaps the revision of the NIV will have the same mistakes as the TNIV. Has anyone gathered any information an either the TNIV or the revised NIV? Thanks, justme |

107 | Women are to be silent? | NT general | justme | 218334
YenlsaRap: Was not the 1 Ti 2:11,12 in response to the fact women were not educated, and to ask questions in a service because it was rude, and showed their being uneducated? Else where in Scripture women are told to cover their head, why is this not stressed as well? The majority of denominations do not wash feet either now. As a matter fact if it were not for women in ministry during the 19th century, the United States would have had no Sunday Schools. There were many women preachers while the west was being settled. Often Churches were started by women extending Sunday School to those who wanted to hear more about Christ. When a men do not or won't step up to the Biblical leadership of the church, then should women just say they are helpless and let the evangelism of souls to Christ go undone? If asking a woman to keep silent in Worship Services is for today, then what about singing solos, or doing anything but keeping quiet? Who takes care of the babies in the nursery? Is the Church the only place a woman is not to teach or usurp authority? There are women in every profession, from judges, even in the higest court in the nation. Adam and Eve were both equally guilty of sin. If we are to love our wives as Christ loved the Church then perhaps we need to remember women are not second class anything. Not second class humans or second class Christians. What really seems cruel is to have women missionaries in a remote spot, by themselves serving in every way you can think of, and yet not Ordain them as we would a man. The "phenonomen in the churches of today" is not just a recent event or happening. There have been women in ministry from the time of Mary and Martha. Having been in Central and South America in the remote villages and small gatherings in a few houses, often it has been the women who have started the Sunday School or Worship Services. I believe Scripture was relating these verses, you used, in their cultural setting not as a mandate for all time. If we take these verses in the most literal meaning then there are other verses that have been ignored for the sake of keeping women under the subjection of ignorant men. Should we not encourage our women to excell in every way possible as Christians? Blessings. AFTER THOUGHT: I am sure my responce will not be accepted by the majority in the Study Bible Forum. I have no intention of causing an upset in the Study Bible Forum with my remarks. I respectfully decline to debate my opinion. I do think there far more to the subject of Women in Ministry than just being a preacher. In love, respect and peace, Justme |

111 | Is murder ever right? | Ex 20:13 | justme | 216277
Yesterday, Sunday May 31,2009 Dr. Tiller of Kansas was killed by a gunman. Dr. Tiller had done more than 80,000 late abortions. Dr, Tiller had no restrictions as to how late term the abortions was. Many babile would have lived if allowed to be born. I do not ever think murder is right. But I have very mixed feelings about "Killer Tiller". I have strong feelings about taking the law into ones hands as well. In light of Psalm 139 how do we understand how these killings of 80,000 helpless and weak children? How should we feel about Dr. Tiller and his outright death? justme |

116 | Hank is wainting, are you ready? | 2 Cor 1:10 | justme | 215469
To all brothers and sisters in Christ on this forum: I just read about Hank going home. I know Hank will be waiting for us when we get to go home too. Going home is glory for Hank. For us left here awaiting the Holy Father to bring us home it seems like a sad time, as we will miss Hank. For those of us, like me, Hank was always pressing us to dig deeper, and to put our answer in the correct form of English. Some of you might have picked up by now I have a impairment. Hank was kind and loving to me. Hank and his wisdom and Bible knowledge was something so very special to me. Hank spread Christian love beyond what the average Christian can ever do. I will miss Hank. Justme.....Mike |

117 | Resurrection Day, not easter! | Exodus | justme | 215228
I have just spent a long time on the Christian Post. It makes me so very sad to see the word easter, to describe the RESURRECTION DAY OF JESUS! Think who is honored when we use the word easter? Eastar was the goddess of fertility and the celebration of this satanic goddess was easter, thus easter eggs and bunnies. Every Resurrection Day we continue we continue to let the wong word for the most Holy Day to be called the worng word. This grieves me deeply. justme |

118 | HOW DO WE HELP THOSE IN NEED? | 1 Tim 2:3 | justme | 214440
These are very hard times for many people, and Christians as well. We have started sharing food with those who are struggling just to pay for housing, utilities and food and gas. This has opened a door for us to show our good deeds and Christian love for our neighbors. We open the door to those people in need with "AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD". We are deeply concerned at the number of older persons in serious financial need. Their spiritual need is even greater as we have discovered. All of the people we have been able to meet with do not qualify for EBT cards, which is the new food stamp program. Most all make too much for financial State help. Seven hundred dollars is all our state allows for a couple to make and get a little help. Local food pantries are maxed out, even some churches have financial shortages as well. My question is has anyone found another way to open the door to reach those in deep need. We don't just see this in unsaved people but many Christians are living in faith depending on the Lord for their needs day by day. We live in an area that basically is settled by hard working people, or those who are retired. Many who are retired can no longer live on what retirement brings in. We personally are blessed and the Lord is good. We are looking into ways to help we have not thought of. We are touched by the saying, No one cares how much you know; Until they know how much you care. This is not orignal to us we read it some where. Any ideas would be gladly be appreciated. justme |

119 | humility, help me understand. | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 214432
humility: I found your note interesting. I was not sure what the alcoholic subsatnce in you back pack had to do with your answer. As you said I want to get to know you. Perhaps this is a tool for witnessing that I have not used or thought about before. Would you be so kind as to explain this more to me? I sincerely thank you as sometimes I do deal with those who are living for what the bottle gives. Blessings. justme |

120 | The United Stated in the Bible | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 212997
The United States is not mentioned or given a hint of in the Bjble. Is it a possibility, because the US stands firmly behind Israel, that the US might be seen as insarable from Israel? Any thoughts on or about this? |
