4 | doctrinally unsound? | Not Specified | umagumadog | 157624
Does anyone see anything doctrinally unsound in the following: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. |

10 | So would this be correct? | Bible general Archive 2 | umagumadog | 148911
Ok I can think of a list of any number of substances (outside of tobaco, alcohol, drugs) that have been altered by man that are able to destroy or distort that are used every day by man without a second thought as to their use. I asume that as you pointed out marajuana has benifical and detramentel uses. So does as an example the internet that we are using now it has the ability to be benifical such as in this forum but it also has the ability to be detramental such as someone who is addicted to porn on the internet or any other ways the internet can be used to destroy or distort. So am I also to asume that if something has benifical and detramentel uses it's ok to use it as long as the way it's used is not out of the will of god it's ok? Such as a bible printed on hemp paper would be an exceptable use of marajuana as would medicanal use such as doctors in some states and countries do now it would be ok but,if marajuana is used just to get high and no good benifit comes from its use it would be outside the will of God and should not be used or consumed in that manner? Please understand I am just asking honest questions that I have as a christian on my walk with god and am not trying to cause discension or argument but seeking wisdom from council as my bible instructed me. Where so ever two or more are gatherd in my name there shall I be also.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. Rev 14:4 These are they that were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they that follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were purchased from among men, to be the firstfruits unto God and unto the Lamb. Rev 14:4 They have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins, and they follow the lamb wherever he goes. They have been redeemed from among humanity as the first fruits for God and the lamb. G2135 eunouchos Thayer Definition: 1) a bed keeper, bed guard, superintendent of the bedchamber, chamberlain 1a) in the palace of oriental monarchs who support numerous wives the superintendent of the women’s apartment or harem, an office held by eunuchs 1b) an emasculated man, a eunuch 1b1) eunuchs in oriental courts held by other offices of greater, held by the Ethiopian eunuch mentioned in Act_8:27-39. 1c) one naturally incapacitated 1c1) for marriage 1c2) begetting children 1d) one who voluntarily abstains from marriage Part of Speech: noun masculine A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from eune (a bed) and G2192 Citing in TDNT: 2:765, 277 Mat 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. Mat 19:12 - For there are some eunuchs ... - Jesus proceeds to state that there were some who were able to receive that saying and to remain in an unmarried state. Some were so born; some were made such by the cruelty of men; and there were some who voluntarily abstained from marriage for the kingdom of heaven’s sake - that is, that they might devote themselves entirely to the proper business of religion. Perhaps he refers here to the Essenes, a sect of the Jews, who held that marriage was unsuitable to their condition; who had no children of their own, but perpetuated their sect by adopting the poor children of others. Eunuchs were employed chiefly in attending on the females or in the harem. They rose often to distinction, and held important offices in the state. Hence, the word is sometimes used with reference to such an officer of state, Act_8:27. |

17 | Tree of life VS Tree of Knowledge | Gen 2:16 | umagumadog | 149775
Well we are told that after man ate of the tree of knowledge God removed man from the garden and then God put angels round about it to protect it. So before man ate from the tree of knowledge man could have eaten from the tree of life but afterwards he could not and God also tell's us why they couldnt. The Bible doesn't tell us if man did or did not eat from the tree of life before eating of the tree of knowledge but sense they couldnt eat of the tree of life after eating from the tree of knowledge would have eating from the tree of life prevented man from eating of the tree of knowledge?

20 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | umagumadog | 149779
Remember God not only told us how he created man (in Gods image of course) but also WHAT he created man with (dust of the earth)a study of the word of God tells us that dust was contaminated from the begining with sin and death. When God threw satan out of heaven and to the earth sin and death came with him. We find out in Job that satan was IN the earth not just on it, sin and death were IN the earth that God created man from. Sin and death where Jesus went down IN for 3 days! Now back in Gen 2 we find that man was already under the curse BEFORE man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, man was acting already acording to the curse but until he ate from the tree and gained knowledge of good and evil man did not realize it. After eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil God REVEALED (gave them knowledge) the curse to man not placed it on man.
