1 | Gen 35:1 God says make an altar to God, | Not Specified | tremere123@comcast.net | 67054
In Genesis 35:1 why does God tell Jacob to make an altar to (the) God who appeared to him when he fled from Esau?...Why doesn't God just say, "make an altar to Me?" The "God" that God is referring to said to Jacob "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac" So are we to see God and this God as seperate entities? |

2 | Is God responsible for evil? | Bible general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67063
God created Satan and allows him to test us...God hardened Pharoah's heart...God created darkness...but we choose the evil that was created by God when we fall...therefore God has created two directions in which we can go...what good would free will be without choices?
3 | Does God help those that help themselves | Bible general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67714
I cannot give you actual chapter and verse but I do know that Jesus had said "You have not because you ask not" which, to me, means if your asking God for help...you are, in essence, trying to help yourself and, therefore, will be helped...If we are sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves and lose hope in finding solutions to our problems then we must have lost faith in God...so, logically the statement is true...and it may actually be in the Bible, I'm not sure...I can only verify that there are many Bible verses to support it!
4 | favorite bible passages. | Bible general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67718
Why not find your own favorite passages?...rely not on people nor yourself for understanding but on God...let Him lead your heart...and know that reading the Bible is not meant to entertain us, although It does, rather that It is a means to build a relationship with God. I guess I just don't want you to read what other people's favorites are or the most exciting parts rather read the whole thing so that you will be able to develop your own favorites based on Scripture that speaks to you...and It will speak to you!
5 | I need scriptures pretaining to gambling | Bible general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67723
I don't think there is any Scripture directly about gambling but there are many that you can use for it like not worshipping money or putting it above God...I cannot tell you exact chapter and verse but look in New Testament when Jesus speaks about man not being able to worship two masters or where He tells a rich boy who asks how to be perfect to give away all that he has or the whole Den of Thieves scene...all New testament all Jesus's teachings...all True!
6 | What is people sin? | Bible general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67739
The best way I can explain this is to tell you that God wants us to come to Him by choice not by force...God gave us freewill and in order to give us freewill he had to create a bad choice as well as a good choice...without a bad choice there is no choice to be made...if you are only given one option then you have to take that option...if someone says you can choose A or B then you have to decide in your heart and in your mind...based off of what A and B entail which you will pick...God did not create sin to hurt us or to kill us or just to make life difficult rather as a choice...we choose who and what we want to be...Are we predestined?...Yes, we are because God already knew before we were born what we would choose and even if He knows that a person is going to choose evil...He will use that person as a bad example or to fulfill prophesy as he did when He hardened Pharopah's heart...consider what would not have happened if He had not done that...search the Scripture on that and consider carefully how things would be different...without darkness light wouldn't shine, would it? Just remember that God is Love and Mercy and Grace and all that...He is all those things....He not only loves us but wants us to love Him back...if you cage someone to keep them are you loving them and are they loving you...or does it mean more that a person of their own free will chooses to be with you, to love you? What is more sincere? Rumor has it the several angels are jealous that we humans can choose to love God because...maybe, it is a more sincere, pure gesture of love...Search this out! Peace!
7 | Satan can't interpret tongues?In script? | NT general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67721
Ya know...if you are speaking in tongues without interpretation...not only can Satan not understand you but I can't understand you either and neither can the unsaved person next to me...the Bible describes this in detail and my understanding is that when you speak in tongues it is between you and God only...if you speak tongues in public you must have an interpretor or have an interpretation so that those around you, including Satan, can understand you...otherwise, you appear as a lunatic or crazy person and your words...your worship is in vain...your light cannot shine if it is not seen...or understood! Did that make any sense!?
8 | What does 1 Corithians 15: 27-29 mean? | NT general Archive 1 | tremere123@comcast.net | 67724
Each individual is saved based off their own personal commitment to Jesus Christ. If a person who is alive gets saved (and, by the way, they need to be alive)they can sanctify others...like a wife can sanctify her husband or children but, I believe, that means she can give them and all others who see her the encouragement or desire to change (become saved) by example of how being saved has changed her or helped her...her light is now shining...her relatives who are dead either were already saved or not...and only themselves and God knows whether or not they were saved...some believe that at the end the dead will rise and during Tribulation those who were not saved will get a last chance to convert but you seek out the Scripture and find out for yourself...God will guide you if you request it!

10 | RULES FOR A WOMAN IN THE BIBLE | Exodus | tremere123@comcast.net | 67720
There are many verses directed at women specifically which I would love to just give you but don't know them off the top of my head...but remember that woman came from men and Scriptually God is head of the church...church is head of the man and man is head of the woman...I don't believe woman should be offended at that logic or other, seemingly male-thinking, verses but rather believe through experience and through observing nature itself that there has to be an order for peace to exist...without structure or order there is chaos! Search this out!
11 | Praise the Lord! | Exodus | tremere123@comcast.net | 67755
I could just blurt out verses and chapter or make sure to have verse and chapter listed after everything I write but then a person would not search the Scriptures themselves...What happens if you keep telling a child how to spell a word every time he asks as opposed to handing him a dictionary...doesn't a child with the "book" fair better than one who relies on you to tell him every spelling and doesn't the book show him other words as he searches for the word in question?....I am not saying these people are children, I am saying that they may fair better searching for Scriptural proof...especially if they doubt me or anyone else because, in my experience, when I search the Scripture for something I end up finding 10 other things on the way to my answer that I need to search out! Also, I make sure to say "in my belief" and "in my opinion" or "in my understanding" because that's what I'm telling them ESPECIALLY when I am not quoting actual chapter and verse...Do you not have an opinion or have you not created an understanding by reading the Bible....When you talk to people do you always footnote everything with a Bible passage so they know you're okay? This is a forum...I didn't think you needed to give Scriptual reference to everything you said...If you notice some people ask for opinions and those who wanted Scripture I told them if I knew it to be in the Bible or not but could not give the actual chapter or verse at the moment....It doesn't mean I was lying or wrong or am incapable...I was being honest...by the way, I didn't answer all those questions to impress anyone...so, please, don't be so judgemental of me, Sir! With All Due Respect, Sister (Thanks I like that handle!) |

But I would bet my soul that it's in there, that's how sure I am....Maybe you should search the Scriptures on Judgement...Check for yourself...make sure I'm your Sister! Hank, I felt you were being judgemental because you felt the need, and still feel the need, to point out that I didn't use Scriptual references in most of my replies to people in this forum which seemed to imply that I was innacurate in my own opinions or inadequate for this forum because I was giving my opinions or "musings" without scriptual reference as if that was bad or wrong!!!??...You pointed out that you were not impressed as if I was trying to impress you or someone else...By the way, thank you for stating this forums statements given by Thee owner...I have read them and note the words in statement #1 "...whenever possible.."....This, therefore, admonishes me of any wrongdoing in this forum because...at the time of my replies, I could not accurately give biblical references...it was not possible, so I made the choice not to include them....Does it state anywhere by the owner of this forum...because maybe I missed it....that we HAVE to include biblical reference or is that just your opinion? If you weren't being judgemental why did you feel the need to express your negative opinion about me and my replies when no one asked you a question or for your opinion? Why did you feel it necessary to point out, what you consider a fault of mine as if you owned this forum yourself?...If not out of judgement or criticism then what? It is a forum, so you do have the right to express your opinion as you JUST DID in your last note WITHOUT biblical reference and...hmmm, that's all I did when replying to people...as you pointed out, I gave my opinion...Tell me, how are you not being judgemental or critical or intrusive by feeling a need to point out something I did or didn't do? Did you post a question that I replied to? If so, you can tell me/us how you feel about my reply....but if I am replying to OTHER PEOPLE'S questions your negative imput is not necessary or asked for...which is what gives me the impression that you are judging my biblical base and biblical knowledge simply because I did not give biblical reference in my responses to OTHER people's questions! You seemed to imply and make assumptions that I was somehow offbase or questionable simply because I didn't give scriptual refence...Do you want to be impressed, Hank?....Ask me a question and I promise to give you every biblical scripture, chapter and verse in my response...without my own "conjecture" or "musings"....because it's important to everyone here, I'm sure, that Hank be impressed, right!? You do not own this forum...you are not the police of this forum...and as I stated before only God is the Judge! If I had gone against the rules of this forum, which you seem to be entranced with, then I am sure the owner would let me know...and I would be apologetic, but.. until then, feel free to discuss your biblical understanding, "musings" or "confjecture" as we ALL are doing here! Boy, even today there are those stuck in the law who are quick to point out, what they feel, are other people's wrong doings who have forgotten to love and be at peace! Either way, I meant you nor anyone else any offense...not sure why you felt the need to be offensive! Sincerely, Sister |

By the way, this was not the Scripture I was referring to in this peticular reply but I will find it and post it. |

20 | Praise the Lord! | Exodus | tremere123@comcast.net | 67858
I have used Scripture in a question I asked and 1 or two of my responses...at the time I answered a large number of questions I didn't have my Bible on hand so I answered them with knowledge I have of the Scripture and told them that this was my opinion or said "I think" or "I believe" for most of them...Hank has made his case clear and I have been sent and Advisory from the owners of this forum...I didn't realise you had to give Scripture chapters and verse in order to respond.
