1 | Were priests electrocuted? | Not Specified | keliy | 210387
A friend said he saw a show on TBN where a guy was analyzing the construction of the Temple, I think it was the Holy of Holies. The guest on the show was a scientist and said that the metals used in construction when brought together would produce electrical shock, enough to kill the man if he was not following instructions exactly. Did anyone see this show? Has anyone heard of this? |

6 | How do I tell if she is Christian? | Not Specified | keliy | 221302
I have a girlfriend who says she is a Christian. I told her when we first met that I could not date her because she was not a christian. But, since she was 'after me', she retorted, "How do You know that I am not a christian? I was raised as a Baptist" So I thought I would give her a chance. We began to date, and now it has been two years. She has helped me much and I likewise, so we mainly get along good, but she does not act like a christian, such as she does not go to church with me as often as she should but has worldly excuses and complains about the sevice (during the service) when we go do to church together. (this can be embarrassing) She will not discuss much biblical issues with me either. I say she is going to church for the wrong reasons, and am about to break off with her. But I think that I would be doing more harm to God's Kingdom by not bringing her to church when able. My other thoughts are that the enemy is trying to keep me away from church and using her to do it. I have in fact missed more days since we have been together because of issues that surround her. She does seem to be growing spiritually, (albeit slightly) but sometimes she shows that there has been no progress made at all. Am I wrong for thinking this way? |

7 | did angels occupy the earth before Adam? | Not Specified | keliy | 221665
I have heard of a pre-adamic race, but I have not heard of angels occupying earth prior to Adam. Is this the same concept, and is it evolved from the gap theory? The following statement was taken fropm a link offered to someone elsewhere on this forum: This pristine earth, originally occupied by the angels, became a chaotic ruin following Satan’s revolt against God. In grace God restored the planet in six days for human habitation. Does anyone know of a scriptural foundation for this? I believe that this undermines the gospel as it allows for death before Adam's sin. |

8 | Need feedback on Genesis? | Bible general Archive 4 | keliy | 210569
Hello, thequickenenedone, Esau may have been the first born to Sara, but Abraham had a son prior to that, with Hagar. So, this question is much more complex that seen at face value. keliy Gen 16:1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife had borne him no children, and she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar. Gen 16:2 So Sarai said to Abram, "Now behold, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her." And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai. Gen 16:3 After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife. |

11 | Similar Barak in Judges - Barack Obama. | Bible general Archive 4 | keliy | 210756
Hi Saved4ever. I understand where your curiosity became energized, It happens to me at times, too. But, sometimes we need to look at the Big Picture, and not become guilty of changing the landscape over one landmark. I would suggest that it is NO coincidence at all. The main objection that I have, is that Obama allegedly has a plan in place that will divide Israel, giving part of the land to Palestine. OK, No more politics. This man is not only in need of much prayer, but our country, as well as the nation of Israel is also in need of much prayer. I would like to bring up Romans 13:1 which states, "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." So, Since to disobey authority is to disobey God, we must all trust in God alone and praise Him for His plan for our Salvation and trust in faith that His ways are better than ours. This, from Book of Psalms, Psa 118:4-8 Oh let those who fear the LORD say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting." From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me in a large place. The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in man. Finally, There is no word in the Hebrew language that would translate as 'coincidence' -so I would say that there are no co-incidences, only God -incidences. Blessings 4 ever, keliy |

Thank you John, Your reply and Scripture reference blessed me. I will respond with a verse from St Paul's letter to the Philippians: Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Php 2:1-4 Lord Bless, keliy |

15 | Did Israel reach out to other nations? | Bible general Archive 4 | keliy | 211425
Hello, ssjr and welcome. Thank you for your question, I will do my best to answer it quickly, as it is getting late. The Jews, in the days of Israel, weren’t sent out into the whole world as we are commanded to do now in the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20). People actually came to them, (Jerusalem) from all over the earth to hear of and to learn the glories and wonders of God. The story of the Queen of Sheba is an illustration of how God caused the whole earth to know the story of His grace. You can read it for yourself in 2Chr but here is just a primer, ch 9 verses 5,6 Then she said to the king: "It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. "However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. Blessings, keliy |

Hi asimilation, welcome to the Forum, You have come to the right place to learn about Christian eschatology, which is the study of its religious beliefs concerning all future and final events (End Times), as well as the ultimate purpose(s) of the world (i.e., mortal life), of humankind, and the Church. Where eschatology (Greek: eskhatos "last," logia "discourse") refers to doctrine that represents a history of inquiry into the concept of the destiny of all things, in Christian context, this inquiry is vested in the prophesied purposes of God as documented in the Bible. ( I copied this information from Wikipedia) It is my belief that all studies (eschatology or soteriology and etc.)should lead to the foot of the Cross. Blessings to you, keliy |

HI Val, Wow, I have seen some loaded questions before, but...just kidding, sister -I am more than happy to do my best to answer. Actually, I do see the Book of Revelation as the most controversial book contained in the Bible, but the interpretation is not as complicated as most people think. There are so many interpretations of the symbolic meanings within, that it is possible to go to ten sources and get over twelve interpretations. I try to see past all the symbolic imagery to look towards the hope that is offered to all who suffer persecution and tribulations in this fallen world. When I speak to a Jewish adherent about the New Testament, I get the answer that it is not accepted. So my counterpoint is, Well, had they read the Book of Revelation? Because it was written by a Jew, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The writer of the letters to the seven churches of Asia was in his own eyes a Jew, while believing in Jesus as the risen Messiah. I have learned that the key to understanding the Book of Revelation is in the understanding of the rest of the Bible. No, I do not claim to actually understand it all, just that I am more than happy to spend the time trying to gain understanding. Concerning Israel, I turn to the second chapter of Isaiah, which begins, "The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it." (vss 1,2) Another reference to Israel is symbolic, and found in Rev 12:1, "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars" There are many different interpretations as to the identity of the woman symbolized, The Catholic Church says that it is Mary, the mother of God. I believe that verse 12:6 proves their interpretation wrong. And Mary Baker Eddy says that it is herself, which I believe is ridiculous. The interpretation of this symbol (the woman being Israel) that I accept is found in the Genesis, in Joseph's second dream. So to answer your first question, my approach to Revelation is to approach the rest of the Bible. This is explained in the Bible as the need for two or more witnesses for a matter to be called true. In answer to your second question, where I see Israel in the end time, I do not accept replacement theology, because of the everlasting covenant made in Gen 17:7, "I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. My belief is that there will be Jews who are saved, and Jews who are unsaved. There will also be non-Jews who are saved, and non-Jews who are unsaved. Thank you for your question, Val. May our Lord bring you many joyful blessings in this new year. keliy |

19 | TRUE HEART OF WORSHIP | Bible general Archive 4 | keliy | 212738
Hi Brittany, sometimes it is hard to place a question in specific terms, so I will do my best as to what I think, and you can give feedback as well as other forum members. So, here I go, and Welcome! I would say that True Worship is God worship. Or, worship that is God-centered. People sometimes get distracted in side issues like where they should worship, The worship team, the music they should sing, or even how they look to other people while they are worshiping. Focusing on these things and whether we enjoy them is focusing on self and does not please God. Besides, it completely misses the point of worship. Jesus tells us that true worshipers will worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). True Worship can include praying, reading or studying God's Word, singing, participating in communion, or even serving others. It's not limited to any one act, but the important part is that it's done properly with the heart and attitude in the right place. May our Lord Bless you as you seek Him, keliy |
