2 | Job 1:6,was the sons of God angels? | Deut 6:4 | goldnbreez | 56955
Nothing like bringing up a can of worms. In Job the sons of God were angels. In most cases in the old testament they were angels. However, the question could be.....Were they sons of God (angels) in Genesis that saw the daughters of man.......and does that relate to Jude where it says they kept not their first estate. But then again in Matthew, it is said that angels are not given for marriage, etc. And so you are left with a debate of centuries that continues even today. That being, were the sons of God always Angels in the Old testament. One thing I can say, I see both sides, and though I used to be consumed with trying to find out, I have noticed every scholar has their own opinion. What is left? Well, as children of God through Jesus Christ, maybe in eternity we can find out. I might add this though, if you are a believer that the sons of God were always Angels, and thus see the account in Genesis as angels. The Book of Enoch, which is not considered canon, makes an interesting read on it. God Bless, and remember, Deut 29:29, it does indeed exalt us from having to know everything. As ambassadors of Christ, we don't have to play lawyer or all-knowing, we just have to give an accounting to our faith and that which stems from the saving blood of Jesus. AMEN Goldnbreez |

3 | Preterist interpretation of this verse. | Luke 21:32 | goldnbreez | 51386
The Preterist view does interpret the word GENERATION to be the one that Jesus was talking to. One book that was helpful for me to understand the preterist view was "The Last Days According to Jesus" by RC Sproul. However, I came across three other interpretations of "generation" in my study of it. 1) the generation did not pass until all things were fulfilled. When Jesus came into His glory, it was finished. Therefore there is no contradiction of those verses. 2) The generation spoken about was the generation of wickedness that would rise up the antichrist and apostacy. 3) The generation of man, meaning man would not be passed. Which one to believe....well that is the ultimate question, however, I really do stay adamant on two things. Love God with all your heart mind soul and strength, and Love your neighbor as yourself. I study the scriptures to show myself approved, and also to be able to give a clear answer of my faith. No matter how you interpret "generation" and no matter which millenial view you fall under. Whether you are a preterist, a pre-tribber, a mid-tribber, a post tribber, a amillenialists, a futurists, etc.......Jesus said only the Father knows when that day would come...so we are left with Faith, Hope and Charity. |

4 | Water baptism unnecessary for conversion | Acts 2:38 | goldnbreez | 51333
1 Pet 3:21--Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which also goes along with what the verse posted prior 'AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.' Acts 2:21 Calling upon the Name of the Lord, to save you, so that you can have a clean conscience to Christ. I have never understood why people get caught up in the water baptism. In acts, it is said in chapter 18---This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John; ..... clearly showing the difference. The Baptism that does save is the answer of a clean conscience to Christ....and the only way to get that, is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, so that His blood along with your repentance cleanses and redeems you. However, I might add, that I also have been water baptised. Why? Obedience and Testimony that I indeed am a Witness to the Love and Salvation of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God Bless |

5 | What does Anathema Maranatha mean 1Cor16 | 1 Corinthians | goldnbreez | 50756
By these words are meant the severest type of curse and excommunication that was among the Jews: and the words are as much as to say, "As our Lord comes". So that his meaning may be this, "Let him be accursed even to the coming of the Lord", that is to say, to the day of his death, even for ever........(GENEVA BIBLE COMMENTARY)
