2 | Confess or ask forgivness of our sins? | Not Specified | farout | 35102
My Pastor taught in the morning service that as Belivers we are told to "confess our sins not to ask for forgiveness." Something in my spiritual heart remembered that in the Lords example prayer, Jesus said " forgive us our debts (sins) as we forgive those who have trepessed (sinned) against us." I looked in VINES EXPOSITORY DICTONARY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT ant the word Jesus for FORGIVE (APHIEMI)is a verb and means " the remission of punishment due to sinful conduct". Matt.6:12. The word in 1 John 1:9 is not the same. I am sure our Father sees the intent and not the exact words, because for more than 56 years of my life I have sought forgivness of my sins. I wonder if confession and asking forgivness is not a process? One must admit to something to seek forgivness is what I have assumes all my Born again days. AMY COMMENTS?

4 | Pretribulation or slightly after ? | Not Specified | farout | 42575
I am a pre-millenniumist, however I am finding it very hard to believe a pre-tribulation view. To me it seems to point that the world is, and will continue to become more wicked. at some point, which only the Father knows, Christ will rapture His church. So my question is, is not there tribulation now for Christians in the worls? If Things must get worse then would not a slightly, say 10 to 20 percent into the tribulation view be more accurate? I find it hard to fit in seven weeks here and grab some information somewhere else and fit it into a nice little package. Darby did not come up with the pre-trib theory ubtil 1820. From what I have read early church fathers did not think this way. I would really like some indepth references or factual answers. God Bless, farout@onemain.com |

5 | Healing. James 5:14-16 | Not Specified | farout | 46213
In James 5:14-16 I have read much about "healing" in the forum lately. I have been a pastor of several small churches. I am the only person I have ever known of who, in a church service anointed a sick believer. This was in a church service with the elders gathered, and the ill persons request, we followed this scripture. I believe this is an act of faith on the ill person and the congregation. I have always prayed for the ill person to be in the direct will of the LORD. I saw one lady who had terminal cancer live two more years, beyond what the doctors said was possible. The glory was strickly given to Christ. I can say I felt this was an act obeying the Word of God. There were a few others and all had a special ending for all concerened. No matter how long our lives are extended it is only tempoary! Has any one else seen this done in their church? I would also question if you have not, why not? Is this not a part of healing that is scriptual? Why do these healers we hear of stay away from childrens hospitals, or rest homes, where none but a few see what is done? I know of one socalled healer that drives a very expensive english rich luxury car. Oh what do you think Jesus would drive today, if he were here now?
6 | after death, right then, what? | Not Specified | farout | 46799
I am questioning my view of death. For most of my life I have been taught that upon my death I would be in heaven. However I recently heard a speaker say that we stay in a state of waiting to be raised when Christ returns. I can read where sleep is refered to as death. When it says in the N.T. concerning those who have fallen asleep. I feel rather ignorant, because I have studied this, and felt I had the answer. Now, I am not so sure. I would like some feed back, as this is sorta bugging me. Thanks for your input. Peace, farout |

9 | What is the best version of the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 5219
The answer has a lot do with your educational level and how much Bible study you have done. Your understanding of how Scripture came about have a lot to do with selecting a BIBLE. All Bibles are translated for a grade level of reading. KJV is grade 12 to 14. NIV is 6th to 8th NASB is 8 to 10th. This is my opinion only. Also the translators Theology and understanding of interperation is a huge factor. RSV, and NRSV are neo-orthodox, liberal translation usually associated with the vied that there may be errors that do noteffect the central message of the BIBLE. The NIV translated thought per thought as accuratly as possible and is very good. The NASB is a literal word for word and their conviction is every word is God Breathed and as penned in the orignal is perfect and without any errors. NIV believes the same as well.I personally use both the NIV and updated NASB STUDY BIBLES by Zondervan Publishers. Most of my Seminary Proffessors used either RSV, or the NIV., and a few the NASB. All these have the plan of salvation and their differences are generally noticed by Bible students that have struggled in word study, so as to be able to defend theeir belief in what version they perfere. I would encourage you to go to a knowledgable Book store keeper who will take the time and help you see the differences for yourself. Perhaps you Pastor od go to a Near by Seminary and talk with aa OT or NT proffessor. Just afoot bobded leather wares our fast. Genuine leather lasts decades, and is well worth the extra money your investing |

I bekieve that if I seek answers so must others, so lets bring it to the surface!

Can babies sin? When do we reach the age of being able to know what sin is? Is not God a loving mercifal, good God? King Davis said he would be with his son, his small baby in heaven. If you have had a child go home or know someone who has get the the small pamphlet EMPTY ARMS. Most hospitals have it. Call your pastor or near by clergy, but please seek some comfort. You are not alone inthis and the Father does love the child and you or whom ever. God Bless you.

13 | do babies go to heaven or hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 37949
Dear friend in Christ. Denominations mean little to me. I have been a ABC baptist, Concertive Baptist, Southern Baptist, and now attend Calvary Chapel in Lake of the Ozarks. I say that just to make a point that it's not what the denomination says, or even the pastor but the Living Word of God. If we take Christ literally when he told the repentant thief on the cross he would be with Jesus that very day; Then why wshould we not take King Davids word as well? wE MAY HAVE A SIN NATURE BUT WHEN DO WE OF CHOICE BEGIN TO WILLFULLY SIN? Certianly not at birth ! Would you not agree that God is the one to make such mercy calls? Might I suggest even those special humans with no brain function are in His arms. I have done over 120 funerals. Never have I condemend someone to hell. I am not the judge. I can say with complete honesty that they are in the presents of Jesus. How Jesus makes theeir eternal home known to each person is Jesus job. I believe if a person has failed to make Jesus their LORD and followed in growth that person is not saved, but made a delerbet choice to follow satan and his lost angels. I am not the judge but I can say with assurance every knee will bow and agree with the Mercyfull loving God's judgement.

yOU MADE DIALOGUE INTERESTING ANDARE NON OFFENSIVE I LIKE THAT. I think we are both saying the same thing. My only possible exceptopn is that we can know that some are bound and some have gone th bein Heaven. I do judje when I know for sure a person has made Christ Lord. Jesus said no one con pluck then from his hand, including ones self. That the Holy Spirit SEALS us. What un-merrited love ! I kike exchanging views it stimulates growth and makes our faith fire.
15 | dinasaurs? did they exist? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 38789
There is no doubt that they existed. We have their boned. We also have in Arizona a place where mans footprints are right nest to these created big relics. In the Grand Canyon fossils ate found not according to what eveolutionists clain. A recent non-christian thought on creation is INTELLEGENT DESIGN which I have only heard about on Christian radio. So you might find a book on it. When these animals lived is only a guess. I was not there contrary to my childrens thinking, I am not old as dirt. I think they died after the flood. The earth had changed axis and climate was most assuredly different. However all this points to a wonderful creator which made animals and nam with many simularities. Lungs, reproduction, blood, and on and on. I would suggest Creation Instute in I think Riverside Cailf. They have very fine materials. As for millions of years I do not think so, but I was not there as I said. Hope this helps.
16 | dinasaurs? did they exist? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 38846
Dear Hank: Thank you for your review, no offence is taken. I usually do a better job. I am one hundred percent disabled and take some thirty two medications. I should not have responded last night after taking my medications. I will in the future not respond after taking my late night meds. My deepest regret for the many mistakes I made. This does not excuse my lack of proof reading, but lets you know how much of a struggle my life is. God Bless and thank you again.
17 | Why not use Yahweh for LORD? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 39684
I have read the begining notes in the NASB, NIV, and other translations. I still feel the answer is inadequate for me, I wonder why the NASB and others like NIV does not take a big step, in what seems to me, to be more accurate, and use YHWH for LORD. I think most congreations are now more used to hearing the word Yahweh than in the past. THE NEW JERUSALEN BIBLE, uses it as Yahweh. This is a Catholic translation, and I find is refreshing to see the LORD used as Yahweh. I do not agree with the total translation. I would like to see the LORD refered to as Yahweh. Maybe someone knows of a good translation that says Yahweh.

19 | what is the state of the dead in Christ? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 39706
Hebrews 9:27. I believe that as paul said to be absent from the body is to be in thepresents of the Lord. We are a spirit that resides in a body. This has been a question that I have struggled for more than ten years. and with prayer and much study I beleive at death we are instantly into the presents of Christ. My human sinful nature can not realy understand this, but the spiritual part of me knows. Hope this give you some food for thought.
20 | What is ok in a premarital relationship? | Bible general Archive 1 | farout | 39711
Maybe a better way to ask this is what is expected in a relationship before marriage. Purity, respect, protecting each others christian witness. You are asking about a relationship not engagement. In engagement there is even more responsibilities. Each step in the area of physical closness, the next step is easier, and many christians make some lifetime mistakes. It is true God forgives, but we still suffer the price for not following His word. WWJD is still the best.
