2 | The Church's response to Active Sin | Not Specified | dweaver | 93103
In 1 Cor. 5:1-13, Paul uses some very direct language regarding how the church should handle members who are actively engaged in homosexuality. My question is this. Are there any other references in the Bible giving guidance regarding how to deal with a member who is actively engaged in any other sin? I'm specifically looking for any text that says we are "not to keep company with" members who are actively engaged in sinful practices of any other kind?

7 | Why wasn't Barnabas judged for his sin? | Not Specified | dweaver | 175391
In Acts 4:36 and 37 we have the account of Barnabas, a Levite, who had land Levites were NOT to own land and sold it and brought the proceeds to the Apostles. In Chapter 5 we have the story of Annanias and Sapphira dying for their hypocrisy in keeping back part of the proceeds of the sale of their property and acting as thought they gave it all. Why was their sin greater than Barnabas? Barnabas sinned by owning land. Levites were not to own land. Why didn't he die and why did Annanias and Sapphira die? |

10 | Kingdom of God Spiritual or Phisical? | Bible general Archive 1 | dweaver | 36826
Jesus talked much about qualifications for entering his kingdom. For example, He said, "Unless we become as little children, you cannot enter"; "It is harder for a rich person to enter the kingdom than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle", etc. My question is, "Is the Kingdom of God a spiritual Kingdom, one that is viewed or experienced vith Spiritual Eyes only, not a physical kingdom? Or is Kingdom living primarily about an attitude of the heart?
11 | Can non-Christians be in praise band? | Bible general Archive 1 | dweaver | 36970
Dear Robert My heart on the matter is this. If you have enough interest in this issue to ask the question, it seems to me that the Holy Spirit is drawing you to God. Just go ahead and accept the claims of Jesus and then be part of the praise band with enthusiasm. I'll pray for you. Dale |

12 | Kingdom of God Spiritual or Phisical? | Bible general Archive 1 | dweaver | 37271
Dear Thankful1 Thanks for your perspective. This is where I'm coming out in my searching. I think that the Kingdom is in my heart. I receive it by the Holy Spirit at the time of my conversion. All of descriptions of Jesus regarding the Kingdom fit this understanding. We cannot deal with the Kingdom in the physical dimension, it needs to be dealt with in the spiritual dimension. (Heart) I'm still working on question of whether God permits us to actually get a visual glimpse into the spiritual realm, ie. Elisha's servant when Elisha asked God to open his eyes. What do you think? I appreciated your answer. dweaver |

13 | Kingdom of God Spiritual or Phisical? | Bible general Archive 1 | dweaver | 37274
Katherine Thanks for your response. I have pretty well settled the issue of the Kingdom being a spiritual one pointing the way to a physical kingdom which is part of the new heaven and new earth. The issue i'm exploring is just how the spiritual kingdom really works. I have been a "Word" person for most of my life and have not given much attention to the "Spiritual" aspect of the christian life. God is taking me on a journey in which I'm sensing that the spiritual dimension in the life of the Christian is much larger than I ever gave credence. I'm trying to discover how to be "in touch" with the spiritual part of my existence as a Christian. I know the old teachings regarding conscience but I'm sensing that there is more. Any thoughts? 15 | Timing of Satan's Fall | Gen 1:1 | dweaver | 74283
Is there any reference in scripture to give an indication of the timing of Satan's fall relative to the creation? I know Satan had at least come upon the earth after it was created and entered into the serpent. What I really would like to know is, Could Satan have been present during the creation? It would seem to me that this battle for position occurred prior to the events described in 1:1, however, I can't prove it. |

16 | Was Satan on the earth prior to Creation | Gen 1:1 | dweaver | 74383
I'm not talking about Armegeddon. I'm concerned with what was happening around creation. Was the earth being "without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of th deep" a reference to Satan being cast down to this earth and causing havoc until God decided to intervene and give it its present shape, structure and order? This is my question. I know that Satan was in the Garden of Eden because he "entered into the serpant" and deceived Eve.
17 | Go or Come to Noah to Enter Ark | Gen 7:1 | dweaver | 34104
I'm trying to understand the difference between how some versions treat God's call to Noah to "enter" the Ark. Some translations use "go" and some use "come". Could someone shed some light on this discrepancy. It seems to make some difference. What was the sense of the original text?

20 | Doing God's will in Heaven? | Matt 6:10 | dweaver | 36885
When Jesus, in the Lord's Prayer, prayed "Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven," what did He mean by "as it is in heaven." Did he mean that in Heaven God is pretty much in charge and everyone is excited about doing His will?
