2 | do babies go to heaven or hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | dreamer | 37946
Different denominations of christianity will say different things. Some think babies have no sin, so therefore they go to heaven. However, 1 Kings 8:46 says the "When they sin against you- for there is no one who does not sin- and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to his own land, far way or near." Basically there is no one who is without sin. In many denominations of Christianity there is believed that we are all born with original sin. Born to us because of the first sins committed by Adam and Eve. So therefore even the smallest child is born with sin. For 1 Kings says no one is without. However, the question of babies going to heaven or hell- no one has an absolute answer to that question but God. It is believed that they do go to heaven, that because there life is so short and they never had the oppertunity to learn about God they are considered innocent and God shows his mercy and they go to heaven. Only God knows for sure, I know it is hard to accept that know one truely knows who goes to heaven or hell. Based on passages in the bible we can make assumptions but that doesn't make those assumptions right. All one can do is believe God does what is right.
3 | do babies go to heaven or hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | dreamer | 38003
Perhaps you misunderstood me, I neither condemed nor accepted that fact that babies go to heaven or hell. I presented facts and other beliefs that other christians uphold. You say that you did not judge when in fact you had. You judge that the people did go to heaven when in fact you cannot be so certain. You can be certain enough bacause the scripture says so but only God knows were people's souls truely go. I have not passed judgement upon anyone, I did not state that babies or people who lack brain function go to heaven or hell. I simple stated what others believe and that only God truely knows. Meaning as humans we are not qualified to make assumptions of where babies or special humans go when they die only God is.

6 | What's really going on? | Col 1:9 | dreamer | 37999
I thought I could help you a little... As far as pre-existance, such and our souls being in heaven and coming down to earth, there are no biblical supporting or denying pre-existance. However, in Psalm 139:13 suggest that we aren't created until we are conceived. As for God destroying satan, He will Revelations 20 is all about the destruction of the devil. You just have to have faith that God knows all and his decisions are for the best. God created an angel but the pride of the angel created satan (Isaiah 14:12-19.) Heaven really is a place free from sin. Other angels did defy God, they followed Satan to the underworld. They were cast down with the devil.
7 | is God and Jesus are one person? | Heb 1:8 | dreamer | 37944
Yes! they are one, they are the trinity. It is difficult if not impossible for the human mind to conceptualize the trinity. There are not three separate individuals. Our minds think very linear and logical, things happen in sequences. However, there is only one God . My pastor told me to think of the trinity in this very crude manner: the trinity is like water. Water is a gas, liquid, and solid but all forms are still water. Just like the trinity is still one. It doesn't clear the confussion created by the concept of the trinity but it is impossible for us to fully understand everything.

9 | is God and Jesus are one person? | Heb 1:8 | dreamer | 38409
No, I don't think Christ is an actor acting to someone in Heaven. They are the same and I believe they are equal. Yes, everything known by Jesus is known by God. All I can say is that they are one and equal.
10 | is God and Jesus are one person? | Heb 1:8 | dreamer | 38563
While it is true that in the original Hebrew text the refer God as Elohem in Genesis 1:1 which is plural. However, it is not in the plural as several individuals or three separate gods but one collectivly. Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1: 18-23 reffer to Jesus as Emanual or God with us. 1John 5:20 says that "We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true- even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." I know what your thinking that this passage proves what you're saying however, I'm not done. This passage is further proof that Jesus is fully God- but I don't think you're having a problem believing in that so I'll move on. Hebrews 2:16-18 says "For surly it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants. For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service of God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Meaning that Jesus is fully human too. So if Jesus is fully God and fully human at the same time God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit can be the same 1 God. Just as a woman can be a wife, mother, and sister at the same time. No, I don't think Jesus lied, I have always interpreted those times when Jesus refers to God as My Father as him talking from his fully human side. However, I think we are on two separate pages. I've said my beliefs and I understand and respect your's. I know you respect mine but I don't think we are going to reach a compromise on this. But it has been nice discussing this with you.
11 | Is God ONE or is God THREE? | James 2:19 | dreamer | 37942
There is one God. The trinity is one... I know it is confusing to understand. It seems like Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God are three separate individuals, however, they are the same and are only one. Humans will never fully understand the concept but you have to know that God's ways are not always capable for our minds to understand in our linear thinking. In a crude representation you could think of the trinity like water. Water is solid, gas, and liquid but all forms are still water. If that helps? It isn't a perfect way of thinking about the trinity but it helped me to try to sort the idea of the trinity.
