2 | Demon posession or Personality disorder? | Not Specified | bandaid | 211855
In various scriptures, Jesus comes in contact with people who are possesed or have demons. The signs are different, but in a few cases, they display signs of what psychology today would label with personality disorders or mental disorders. Such as the man in the tombs in Matt 5:1-20. My questions are did Jesus ever send anyone to get herbs or anything to help their dispositions, or did he simply see they were deomonically oppressed and cast out the demons? Is there scriptures that back up anything about psychology such as going to counselors or taking drugs? I don't want to offend anyone that feels they need drugs to survive whatever medical or mental situation they are in, but I believe more people could be healed if they were delivered from the demons that are opressing or possesing them. I just want to know what the bible says about it all.
3 | Can a woman divorce man: Ongoing porn? | Not Specified | bandaid | 212543
Matt 5:27-28 Mark 10:10-12 In these verses it specifically addresses the mans right to divorce a woman under the grounds of adultery, but it does not specifically say a woman can divorce her husband. Is a woman biblically allowed the right to divorce a man under these grounds (porn as adultery) or does she have to seperate and wait for her husband to divorce her? |

4 | Porn in spouse overcome thru fasting? | Not Specified | bandaid | 212544
Matt 17:15-21 In this scripture it points out that a lunatic was demon possesed and released only through fasting and prayer. Man has freewill to do what he pleases. Freewill may be different from lunacy depending on the circumstances that led to the lunacy. Can freewill be overthrown if it is a sin that may be oriented through strongholds? How do we know if a sin such as pornography addiction is a spiritual stronghold? Is it just a learned behavoir that has affected dophamines in the brain, a spiritual stronghold, or both? |

At first glance it may be easy to assume I am at the beginning of a long journey. However the opposite is the fact and without going into further personal experiences, you can rightfully go from the assumption after 5 years, every effort has been made, including the movie. I am clearly asking for scriptural references, not advice. I understand basic law, glanced scriptural text, and freewill to hardness of heart. However, despite the advice I have already heard one nagging detail has escaped my reading. In reading the scriptures, I have been unable to find any reference where WOMEN can divorce under these grounds, it clearly seems to state men as the divorcing party. I think everyone assumes it includes women, and that would be an easy road to take, however the scriptures still don't mention women as divorcing men UNLESS they are to live in adultery. I don't want to assume like everyone else. I want facts. Freewill, or spiritual strongholds (demonic oppression/possesion)? That is my next question. Can pornography lead to spritual strongholds? Can these strongholds, in this case, be broken through fasting and prayer? Or does freewill prevail? |

Keliy, assume you had little girls. Assuming the worst situation you can imagine, would you stay or divorce? Please, understand, I am not looking for answers to all the other questions and judgements brought up here. My questions were specific. I understand everyone has opinions and ideas and wants to help, but for the sake of several paragraphs on advice you know nothing about in a situation, trust that God has perhaps given me enough sense to ask questions that have legitimate value to my situation.

Keliy, This is NOT the place for you to push your opinions and ideals on me. If you do not have any bible references to my question, then please save your advice for another site and leave these questions for someone who DOES know if there are any. This is as I understand a Bible Study Forum. I will be kind but blunt since I have already advised you. You have no clue of my situation and I have other places I go for information, accountability and spiritual advice. If you cannot answer the questions given, then move on and please leave me alone. If you continue to harass me I will advise the forum leader.

Thank you John. I appreciate your sincere caring approach. As I somewhat mentioned, my situation goes beyond the norm as to what I will not go into. I would ask you pray and if you fast, for my husband who seems to be on a very difficult path that he is in bondage and denial to. I am in a safe place, and agape love cares for the person more than the union. Sometimes love needs to be tough.

Gileum, Try what before I abandon ship? Please. The end of this lonnngg line is that someone needs help despite anything I can do or have tried. I cannot make him change. Does his freewill take precedence over fasting and prayer? Those are the questions that at some point everyone will get to at the end of everything else attempted. Is the desire to overcome mine alone? You can't save a marriage when only one party is trying ...unless the sin is only one that can be delivered through fasting and prayer. I am not asking for advice, I am asking legitimate questions and my understanding is that the truth of Gods Word is what sets us free. You have to be open to go places to hear or read the Word to accomplish this. When someone IS NOT OPEN, there is something hindering that. Do you really think I have not prayed about this for several years?? Please, if you want to help, pray for my husband to be open, and fast if you think Gods word pertains to this situation. That is what my questions are about.

Again, I am at this site to get scriptural references and study aids for my questions. I already have EVERY FORM OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND INSPIRATION. Give me a break, I just want scriptural references to study for my particular questions! I have enough people in my life for several years. I am not alone. I have a pastor. I have women I have elders. All I want from this site is scriptural references to my questions. If you don't have them, be at peace ...I am already in good hands, and pray for my husband.

Please read Col 3:12 again. I can only suggest to you to wait 2 days to respond after reading someones questions, rereading them again to employ a clear understanding of what they are asking. Then reread your answers again. Then make changes to what you write. You will not be heard for your many words, and you may sound as a clanging cymbal. I am asking you to refrain from trying to instruct me since I sense you still have no clear understanding. Your "honest answer to me" is in still not listening to anything I have said! I do not care to listen to what works for you since you are not the example I would want to portray. I will not be reading anymore of your posts. |

I thought this was supposed to be a bible study forum? If I had wanted extensive advice I would have told my story in full, to get the same advice I have heard for the past five years from my elders, brothers, sisters, pastors, professors, authorities and friends. I don't need to go over all of that again for strangers sakes. This is a bible study forum to study the Word!, not get counseling. At least that was my understanding when I read the requirements. I am already addressing all of those other issues in full and simply am curious about the other subjects very few people have even focused on. All I want is a clear focus on my questions, I have everything else I need. I have already been studying and addressing each and everything AGAIN mentioned by strangers who have no clue, and don't need to go over those things again. Just simply answer my bible questions and talk about the subjects of the questions themselves. How hard is that? This is where I have progressed at this point. |

Thank you Cheri. I have heard many stories and testimonies of supernatural happenings in this time. And stories over the years from missionaries, friends and pastors and books with awesome stories of Gods intervention. My questions pertain to the biblical truths of Gods intervention in the bible when he frees people, some who seem to not even be asking. Like the man in the tombs who was possessed and freed from the legions. I will read those verses.

Thank you! I want to pray rightly and I have had to undergo many changes myself. Yes, my own faith, Gods mighty loving grace, and stubborn persistance has brought me this far.

I am well out of the way, I am focusing on my own well being...but I still have enough love, strength and faith inside myself to pray for the reconciliation of my husband to God. I can do a few things at a time! ;cD

Do you even remember my questions? My request was the focus on the questions. Not on my situation. I asked for no assistance BUT to my questions. If you followed along you would have read that ONE simple request over and over... and over again. This is a great group of people, who mean well. It's been a matter of going over the same request to FOCUS, again, on my questions and not my situation. That is well under wings of protection. I am hungry to know what Gods Word says about the ideas portrayed in the questions I asked, and I can just ask again that people respect that. |

Matt 5:28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt 5:32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. unchastity:4202 PORNEIA; from 4203; fornication:--fornication(4), fornications(2), immoralities(1), immorality(16), sexual immorality(1), unchastity(1). Study Notes: Jesus is saying the desire to have sex with someone other than your wife is mental adultery and thus sin. Jesus emphathized that if the act is wrong, then so is the intention. To be faithful to your wife with your body (depending) but not your mind is to break the trust so vital to a strong marriage. Is it not a sin to have sex with your wife and be thinking of someone else, or to have sex with someone else and be thinking of your wife? Jesus says clearly porn is adultery. The old saying you let let a bird fly over your head, but not nest in your hair does help to summarize this. It is okay to appreciate the beauty of a womans form, just don't let it nest there, or hurt your wife. Biblical grounds for divorce is adultery. Mans laws do not necessarily extend into the biblical text. Mans divorce laws usually means physical adultery. Jesus is biblically stating that porn is grounds for divorce. (ie., unchastity:porneia) There are people around still who really don't look at porn and it is still biblically considered adultery no matter what the world says. |
