1 | What is the Godhead? | Acts 17:29 | SOLT | 112977
Greetings hh, The word Godhead is referred to 3 times in scripture and in all 3 cases signifies Deity, Acts 17:29, Rom. 1:20, Col. 2:9. The greek word for Deity is Theotes and is used here in all 3 instances as 2 forms Theos(divine one) and fully as Theotes(Deity). Col. 2:9 is of special interest when it comes to Christ and the Godhead in that it relates to the Godhead or Deity personally. Christ is the is the personal and bodily manifestation of all the fulness of Deity. He was God incarnate and the manifestation of all the fulness of God's power and blessing to mankind. The fulness of the Holy Spirit rested upon him without measure and worked through his body. The fulness of redemption from the Deity came through his body. This is why we become complete in him and why he is the head of all principality and power(Col.2:10) Blessings, Paul |

3 | Spirit Baptism...Crucial? | Acts 19:2 | SOLT | 114164
Greetings Hank, Although I completely agree with your response and the verse used as it applies to the new birth, I was however refering to the experience the believers had as stated in Acts 2. of which is also the same experience as in Acts 19. Do we need this same experience as described in the book of Acts to be a faithful and, even more so, powerful witness for the gospel? Paul's question seems urgent. He doesn't ask: Hey fellas how your doctorine ? or, How many converts up to now Guys? To me it would seem that the importance of the Holy Ghost baptism with the evidence of tounges and prophesy was of the utmost importance and that they get it ASAP. This Baptism was given to both Jew and gentile and was emphasized much in Acts as well as other gospels. Are we missing something by not receiving this particular Baptism in the Holy Ghost? |
