1 | Definition of worldly sorrow? | Not Specified | NAV | 27784
2Cor 7:10 "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." Christ is prophesied as being a man of sorrows in Isiah (fulfilled in Mt 26:37,38). He couldn't have had the first kind of sorrow since He needed no repentance, so I think it's safe to assume it's the second kind. If we are exhorted to be Christ like, should we feel worldly sorrow as Christ did? (if my assumption is true). Your prayerfully submitted and scripturally backed answers much appreciated. I believe your answer can be found in Luke 16:31. If they can't be convinced even by someone rising from the dead, proof if it's really Jesus' burial garment will be to no avail. Hope this helps. NAV |

3 | OT Prophecies fulfilled by Christ in NT | Ps 22:1 | NAV | 27588
According to an appendix in the "Catholic Living Bible" there are 37 old testament prophesies.A good majority are found is Isiah (that He would be born of a Virgin, that He would be called Emmanuel, that He would have a forerunner, that He would be worshipped by wise men, that He would be called a Nazarene, that He would speak in parables, that He would heal many). Psalm 22 is truly astounding in predicting the crucifiction of Christ. Others include Jeremiah 31:15 (that His birthplace would suffer a massacre of infants). Here's the whole list, but you'll have to look them up: Isa 7:14 Compare to Mt 1:22, 2 Sam 7:11 Ps 132:11 compare to Lk 1:31 Dan 2:44 Micah 4:7 Compare to Lk 1:33, Isa 40:3-5 Mal 3:1 Lk 1:76, Ps 72:10 Isa 60:3 Mt 2:11 Num 24:8 Mt 2:15 Isa 11:1 Mt 2:23 Ps 69:9 Jn 2:13-17 Isa 11:2 Lk 4:18 Isa 53:4Mt 8:16 Isa 9:1 Mt12:17-21 Isa 6:9 Mt 13:10-15 Isa 53:3 Jn 1:11 Zech 9:9 Mt 21:4-5 Ps 8:2 Mt 21:16 Ps 118:22 Mt 21:42 Isa 53:1 Jn 12:37 Ps 41:9 55:12-14 Zech 11:12Mt 26:14-16 Isa 53:3 Mt 26:37 Zech 13:7 Mt 26:31 Isa 50:6 Mt 26:67 Jer 18:1-4 Mt 27:9 Isa 53:12 Mt 27:38 Ps 69:21 Jn 19:28-30 Ps 31:5 Lk 23:46 Ps 34:20 Jn 19:33-36 Zech 12:10Mt 27:36 Isa 53:9 Mt 27:57-60 Ps 16:10 Mt 28:2-7 Ps 24:7 Mk 16:19 There may be more - I hope this answers any questions you have, or that you can use it to minister to others. God bless you. NAV |
