1 | Why do you think God sends delusions? | Not Specified | JohnDiscipleship | 192301
In 2 Thessalonians Ch2 V11 God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. Why do you think God does that? Also does that make you more dtermined to do what you know what is right rather than dabble in wrong doing?
2 | is how we use our talents to be judged? | Not Specified | JohnDiscipleship | 192347
Matthew 25v31-46 I have thoght about this passage of scripture many times and my understanding of it is this. We are not judged because of our sins, but by what we choose to do with the abilities that God has given us, if we keep ourself away from places where others are in need we will fail to see their suffering but if we use our abilities to serve others we will always be in a place where we can give a cup of water or clothes etc. Is tis a fair assesment of this scripture?
3 | How to deal with anger? | Not Specified | JohnDiscipleship | 194407
I am conducting a study on Monday night on anger. In the study I want to look at what the Bible has to say about anger, how to deal with anger in your own life and how to deal with an angry person. I would really appreciate Bible verses and personal experience as I will be printing the responses and using them in the group. Gods best for you all, John D |

4 | Still don't have an answer | Bible general Archive 3 | JohnDiscipleship | 192407
I think the focus when it comes to change should firmly be on ourselves. We our called to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith 2cor 13v5 also jesus asked those who had dragged the woman before Him to see if they were without sin before they could throw rocks at others.John 8v7 So what am I trying to say? If we see what we believe to be sin in someone else, we should first examine ourselves to see that we are not guilty of the same sin, secondly we should confess any sin before God through Christ so that we can be set free from the hold of that sin, thirdly we should then live as an example of Gods grace that he would forgive us and free us from the hold that sin had over our lives. Our witness to others is what God has done for me not what God can do for you. When people ask us why we behave the way we do, then we should be prepared to give an answer that way they do not feel badgered, rather they will feel free to examine our lives because it us us that walk in the spotlight not them. Also yes we should be constantly praying Father Forgive Them For They Do Not Know What THey Are Doing.

6 | is how we use our talents to be judged? | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192362
I think I will have to disagree that we are to be judged by our sin as Jesus takes on our sin and set us free from sin and death. The question that is asked by those that are called righteous and those that are called unrighteous is the same, "when did we see you hungry, thirsty etc. and the only difference between the two was that one had given and one hadn't not whether they were "Saved' or not. They both call Him LORD

8 | once "saved" always "saved" | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192400
Yes I did read Revalation 20, thanks for the sarcasm, am I to understand from the stand you are taking that you believe that once "saved" always "saved". The start of Matthew 25v32 says He will gather all the nations, v34 says come to me all who are blessed and take your inheritence. Romans 2 v7 says To those who persistance in doing good seek glory honor and immortality he will give eternal life. I think that when God gives us the right to use His name through Christ that we should honor that name in deeds and thanks and that if we continue in our old way of life we risk our eternal future.Hebrews 10 v 26-27
9 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192410
The problem that I keep encountering in the reply to my question is, the substition of the word "saved" for the word "faithful" Faithful means to remain in to and stay true to what you have commited to do. So like a marriage it is possible to get married and then be unfaithful in the marrige. So in Christ we can be joined with Him through Grace which is a gift from God not because we have done anything to desrve it, then we are asked to remain faithful and pure in that relationship forsaking all other things. If we then reject Gods grace what is the result? Or do you believe once we are "saved" it is impossible to reject Gods grace?
10 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192412
Good scripture! John 3 v21 says that "Whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." I think that in my own life I have found that if my deeds don't line up with my faith God has convicted me of that fact (not condemned me with that fact) I have than had the choice whether I wanted to repent and change my ways or whether I want to reject the truth and continue doing what I now know to be wrong. I thank God that when he shows me something he also gives me a chance to change through Christs love I also thank God that he does not take away my free will. I know that for me I have not always repented when I know that I am wrong, but He has been Patient, I have learnt not to test God but to repent quickly. One time after I became a Christian I turned away from God and walked in a wilderness experience for 15yrs! I never want to reject Him again because I know how dark that time was!!! Hebrews 3v 12-19
11 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192418
God never rejects us but as rebelious children we can reject him. The prodigal Son chose to take His inheritence and squander it away. What do you think would have happened if he had never come home? Also unfaithful means that you were given something and then failed to do it, you can't be unfaithful to something that you don't have!
12 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192420
I think what is in contention about judgement is not whether we are "saved" or "unsaved" but how do we know that this is true? 1John 3v13-21 talks about how we will know that we are "saved" we will have love for our brother. This would be lived out by actions not words and would be evident to those around us. 1John 3v18
13 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192434
We are not being forced to work at salvation to keep it, it is out of a repentant and grateful heart that we honour God by our deeds and our testimony of what he has done for us. There are so many warnings in the Bible about staying the course, staying pure, being Holy, etc. God has called us to follw His son, to sacrifice our lives for others and to be renewed by the transforming of our minds. We should not take his calling lightly Hebrews 12 v 14-17 warns us not to reject God's grace. james 2 v14-26 warns us that if we have faith without works it is dead v26 also inv24 he says that we our justified by faith and works. They work hand in glove, first Faith and then Works. if you say you have one without the other then you are decieved.

15 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192444
I am not saying that God is powerful enough to save us, but in the keeping part, he needs help. What I am saying is because of Gods love he has given us the same choice Adam had, to choose between good and evil. We should not be decieved as Adam was but live a life in obedience to God as a living sacrifice.
16 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192461
Yes I do believe that Adam had a choice to obey God, it was through that disobedience that sin entered the world.
17 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192463
My grammar can be confussing, What I am saying is that God has the power to save us and that we don't then earn our salvation we work with God in our salvation. John 15v1-17 jesus plainly tells us that it is about remaining in the vine and the purpose of that is to bear fruit. If we don't remain in the vine we will not beear fruit and we will wither and die.
18 | Can a Christian reject God's grace | NT general Archive 1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192496
Jeff, I believe that When Jesus says "that we should remain in him" That it is a call to be faithful and if you are faithful you will bear fruit. It is not our responsibilty to bear fruit, it is a natural result of being faithful.
