1 | Is the Holy Spirit Leading? | Not Specified | John Ryals | 227916
Genesis 8:8-13; In verse 11, "Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other." It is my believe that Lot didn't seem to realize, as most don't realize, that he was blessed by God because of Abraham. He should have said to Abraham, that whatever the Patriarch desired, that's what he desired. But instead, he chose for himself, and as the future will prove, chose very unwisely. When he separated himself from Abraham, he separated himself from the Blessing. My question: How do we know within ourselves that it is truly the Holy Spirit leading us, and not a mask of the flesh saying it's the Holy Spirit, which takes us in the wrong direction? My thoughts are this, What if I have a ladder against a wall and I'm climbing to the top and when I get there I find out I've got the ladder against the wrong wall? Are there any reference books or any reference scriptures that may help me determine the answer? Thanks John Ryals |

7 | ... | Bible general Archive 4 | John Ryals | 228522
Exodus 6:3 states: "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by My Name JEHOVAH was I not known to them." In fact, the Name "Jehovah" was not used from the very beginning; however, the full meaning of it was not made known unto Israel until it was time to fulfill the Promises and Covenants with them as a nation. Psalms 83:18 clearly states, "That men may know that You, Whose Name alone is JEHOVAH, are the Most High over all the Earth." Some more scripture's: Isaiah 12:2 and Isaiah 26:4. I pray this can be helpful. God Bless! John Ryals |

8 | Is Belief in the Trinity Required? | Bible general Archive 4 | John Ryals | 230234
Just wanted to offer a scripture to one of the statements you made: "Never does Christ state that the Holy Spirit is a different "person." If I understand the scripture correctly; Acts 1:4 states: "And,being assembled together with them, Commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father, which, said He, you have heard of Me. I believe Jesus is saying that they also heard of this promise from Himself, which the promise is the Holy Spirit! I hope this makes sense to you. Have a Great Day! John Ryals |

Hey Beja, There's no argument of the possibility, but I just commented that I can't find it in the Word. You and I can only pray she did. You know after I looked at the question fully, I wonder if he meant the first person when Jesus was walking on earth? Have a Blessed Day Brother! |

12 | Does the Bible refer to Peter being hung | NT general | John Ryals | 227994
The Bible only mentions the deaths of two apostles, James who was put to death by Herod Agrippa I in 44 AD and Judas Iscariot who committed suicide shortly after the death of Christ. The details of the deaths of three of the apostles, (John, the Beloved, Bartholomew and Simon the Canaanite) are not known at all, either by tradition or early historians. The deaths of the other seven apostles are known by tradition or the writings of early Christian historians. According to traditions and the Bible, eight of the Apostles died as Martyrs. At least two of the Apostle's Peter and Andrew were crucified. Simon surnamed Peter died 33-34 years after the death of Christ. According to Smith's Bible Dictionary there is "satisfactory evidence that he and Paul were the founders of the Church at Rome, and died in that city. The time and manner of the apostle's martyrdom are less certain. According to the early writers, he died at or about the same time with Paul, and in the Neronian persecution, AD 67,68. All agree that he was crucified. origin says that Peter felt himself to be unworthy to be put to death in the same manner as his Master, and was therefore at his request, crucified with his head down. I pray this information is useful to the furtherance of the Gospel for Christ. May God Bless You |

15 | Where did Adam and Eve's find their wife | Genesis | John Ryals | 227917
Genesis 5:4; "And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters" (the intimation is, Adam was able to father children, and Eve to conceive, for some 800 years. Exactly how many children they brought into the world we aren't told. But it had to be many. So yes, these children of Adam and Eve married each other, even though deterioration of our life expectancy had began because of their disobedience.
