I have a lot of "supposedly" christian friends but they don't believe that Jesus is God. I know He is because He said He is. But what I want to know is if there are any verses in the bible you can give me that describes or moreover depicts Jesus as God and not just the Son of God?

4 | Clean Slate statement | Not Specified | Jesusfreak345 | 150880
I have a friend that's not christian who disagrees with many aspects of the bible but mainly one inparticular. The fact that we are all born (as in coming out on the ER table) sinners. He thinks that we should all start off with a "clean slate" as he so carefully states. I wonder what the answer to this as well. However I do not wish to question Gods decisions, but asking for an answer from someone much farther along with their relationship with Jesus Christ is not questioning Gods ultimate decision to allow mankind to be sinful. I just want to know whether or not anyone can provide me with some defense in which I can use against the "clean slate" statement made by my friend? I also would like to ask if anyone can give me bible references in which I can back up my answer and if not, I still wish to be able to answer these types of questions he may inevitabley dish out, even if it means without the bible but with common sense and morality.

6 | Mom, grandma, sister all in Satans hands | Not Specified | Jesusfreak345 | 151269
This posting is about a dead guy named Joseph Campbell. Many of you may or may not have heard about him. My mother, loves this guy. He's in Hell right now I guarentee you. He embraced "everything" as my mother says. Shes a New Age person or whatever, along with my grandmother, whom my mother lives with. My sister as well loves Joseph Campbell. She is a wicken. All three of these people have something in common. They don't know Christ. I have tried everything, and yes I am still praying for them. My mother's embraced this "New Age" stuff for about 9 years and my grandmother for about 12 or 13. My sister is the one I am really conscerned about. She's only 13 and is already saying to me that basically Satan is comforting her. She has these drawings on her door in which display a hideous creature that has fangs and a sort of upside-down cross right in the middle of the face. The fangs are dripping with blood (I am being this detailed because I need the type of advice I am looking for). There's a girl version of this as well and both, she saids, are going to be used in a science fiction/fantasy book she is going to be writing. She's so vulnerable to Satan and IT JUST PISSES ME OFF WHEN ALL I CAN DO IS JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH HER LIFE GO DOWN THE DRAIN!! I know where she is becasue I have been there. I used to be Satanist. I don't want God to reveal Himself to her in the way that He revealed Himself to me. I just want to see her go to heaven. I don't want to come home one day to find out that my sister died of suicide or something and feel like I could have done somthing else. Is there anything I can do? Please help me. How can I counter attack this Joseph Campbell guy with Gods love, grace and mercy? Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice?

8 | Abraham's Bosom (luke 16:19-31) | Not Specified | Jesusfreak345 | 151743
In need to ask 2 questions about luke 16:19-31. 1- what is the meaning of what Jesus is saying? 2- In the Old testament, does it anywhere give any "hints" towards there being something Abraham's Bosom?
9 | Lazarus, Abraham's Bosom, something else | Not Specified | Jesusfreak345 | 151817
Ok. I see the notes on Luke 16:22, but I didn't specify my questions very well. I will specify. My number 1 question is, 'In the 16th chapter of Luke, it talks about Lazarus. Is this the same Lazarus that is mentioned in John 11?' 'It also mentions that the rich man, who is in Hell or Hades, is speaking to Abraham. Am I confused or am I getting this straight? The rich man is talking to Abraham, who the rich man calls Father Abraham, when Abraham is actually in "Abraham's Bosom?" That is my third question. What is Abraham's Bosom? Is it an inbetween place that people who believed in the God of the old testament went until Jesus came and freed them when He died and went to Hell and then ascended? Or is this just a metaphorical expression in which Luke is using to describe Heaven? It just doesn't sound right. A person who is in Hell cannot talk to someone who is in Heaven. The bible directly specifies in Luke 16:26 that one who is in Heaven cannot go to Hell or vise versa. I know that it saids "pass to," but I remember reading, and I believe it is in the new testament, that there is a barrier that restricts those from Heaven from seeing the ones who are in Hell. Is this in the bible or am I just rambling off something I may have read in some other book? If it isn't, I sincerely apologize for giving false information. That is why I asked if it was in the bible somewhere. I am just extremely confused about this Abraham's Bosom thing, not so much if it is the Lazarus mentioned in John.
10 | a simple prayer request | Not Specified | Jesusfreak345 | 152547
This is not a question. It is a prayer request. I know that prayer is an amazing thing and I want to use it. My friend Kyle is a christian. He goes to my school but thats not the point. His father just had a stroke this morning. I am asking everyone that gets this message to pray for Kyles safety as well as his fathers and that his father would get well and get out the hospital soon.
11 | How do I learn to " walk in the Spirit"? | Bible general Archive 2 | Jesusfreak345 | 150744
2 Corinthians 5:7 (New International Version) (7)We live by faith, not by sight. Proverbs 2:7 (New International Version) (7) He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. John 14:16-17 (New King James Version) (16)And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- (17)the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. Romans 8:1-4 (New King James Version) (1)There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (2)For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (3)For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, (4)that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Another way to "walk in the Spirit," is ask yourself this question every time you make a decision, What would Jesus do? No matter if it's good or bad. We as Christians are called to be Christ "like." We are called to try to follow Jesus Christ as best we can. I like what Josh Mcdowell wrote in his book Evidence for Joy, which I urge you to look into. 'How do you define self-acceptance? To me, acceptance is knowing who you are, who made you who you are, and giving God the glory. You can be at ease with yourself when you "know" "God"(these are suppose to be italicized but are obviously in quotation marks) has made you the unique person you are. Note the two italicized words in the previous sentence: know and God. That is the theme of this book-knowing God. Because knowing God will tellus all we need to know about ourselves. God's plans are perfect, so He must have known what He was doing when He made you. And you know what? He's not finished with you yet! So, don't get discouraged with flaws in your life, because the process of making you like Christ will take a lifetime. Your confidence in the design of the final product is in knowing He's in charge. You don't have to strain to be someone you're not. You can relax and be the person God made you while being thankful for the changes He is making in you. God is in charge of the process as well as the final product. Unfortunately, it's one thing to believe in God's plan but another thing to live it. One reason this is so is because behind much of the disenegration of an individual's self-concept is another problem-a deep sense of insecurity, an inablility to face life's crises with confidence and assurance. A deep vacuum of uncertainty fills many lives. Possessions, people, or power are some of the straws grasped to fill that void. Nothing seems to work. The pain persists. Here again, knowing God provides the starting point from which the process of real Christian growth charts its journey. And in the matter of security, you start with who God is and what He is able to do for you. If security can be defined as that sense of confidence, assurance, and contentment with life that comes from knowing God, through Christ, personally, then being really convinced, mentally and emotionally, that God is in control if your life brings contentment with the outcome.' |

I do regret and apologize for my language. It was wrong for me to use such words. It make me extremely angery and leaves me in anguish to sit back be able to do nothing but now I know that the power of prayer is something I need to fight back with. Thank you for giving me those verses Hank. Please be praying for my relatives. I do not live with them and they live more than 5.5 hours away from me so I can not have much of an influence on them but I think what God is trying to tell me out of all this is just to let it go and just to pray for her. That I already planted the seed and that all I can do for her now is pray and hope. Thank you Hank.

16 | How to empower others to go and serve? | Proverbs | Jesusfreak345 | 150188
A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,- Proverbs 1:5 Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.- Proverbs 9:9 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.- Proverbs 1:7 |

17 | How to empower others to go and serve? | Proverbs | Jesusfreak345 | 150249
You can encourage some of your Christian friends by giving them this verse. Paul wrote it to a church in Corinth, which he helped start. He was encouraging and empower the christians in Corinth by writing them letters, which was really the only thing he could do because he was in jail. The verse is 1 Corithians 10:13. 'No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.' |

18 | How to empower others to go and serve? | Proverbs | Jesusfreak345 | 150253
I just found these verses which are in Romans It's 15:1-13. Look it up for yourself. 'Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO REPROACHED YOU FELL ON ME." For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God. For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME." Again he says, "REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE." And again, "PRAISE THE LORD ALL YOU GENTILES, AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM." Again Isaiah says, "THERE SHALL COME THE ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES, IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE." Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. |

19 | results of peace with God | Proverbs | Jesusfreak345 | 150692
Your first request- proverbs 16:7. First, its basically saying that you need to live at peace with God in your own heart. Look at 1 Corinthians 10:13. Then it goes on to say that your enemies, meaning those who do not love Jesus, will notice the way you act and respond compared to other people when they ridicule you. They will feel, most likely, that what they did was wrong and may or may not apologize. In Romans 5:1-2, its refering to Gods own personal peace with you. Psalm 11:5- 5The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates. Its saying that if you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and you continue to lead your life as Jesus did (not exactly of course. no one can be perfect) then Gods soul is at peace with you. The last three however, I do not see how they are relating to Gods peace |

20 | Does God answer the prayers on a sinner? | Isaiah | Jesusfreak345 | 150687
Isaiah 59:1-4 1Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. 2But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. 3For your hands are defiled with blood And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken falsehood, Your tongue mutters wickedness. 4No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity. Isaiah 1:2-17 2Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; For the LORD speaks, "Sons I have reared and brought up, But they have revolted against Me. 3"An ox knows its owner, And a donkey its master's manger, But Israel does not know, My people do not understand." 4Alas, sinful nation, People weighed down with iniquity, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the LORD, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him. 5Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The whole head is sick And the whole heart is faint. 6From the sole of the foot even to the head There is nothing sound in it, Only bruises, welts and raw wounds, Not pressed out or bandaged, Nor softened with oil. 7Your land is desolate, Your cities are burned with fire, Your fields--strangers are devouring them in your presence; It is desolation, as overthrown by strangers. 8The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, Like a watchman's hut in a cucumber field, like a besieged city. 9Unless the LORD of hosts Had left us a few survivors, We would be like Sodom, We would be like Gomorrah. God Has Had Enough 10Hear the word of the LORD, You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah. 11"What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?" Says the LORD. "I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats. 12"When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courts? 13"Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies-- I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly. 14"I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them. 15"So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen Your hands are covered with blood. 16"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight Cease to do evil, 17Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow. |
