3 | Help me with Bible reference for prayers | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 194934
The Bible teaches in many places that we are to pray for our leaders. A search would be necessary for direct reference. As a SS teacher I recommend that a study of scriptures is in order. Also, you will learn much more from that effort which will help you in your over all knowledge of G-d's word. For Christ, Preston |

4 | covering heaven with a cloud? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 194935
Michael, I am not aware of such scripture. Anything close to that passage doesn't make sense. G-d receives our prayers as a beautiful perfume scent.(my words). Your wording is rather conclusive that it exists. Do you have a general reference?...what Bible?..OT or NT?..writing?...publication..someone,etc? For Christ, Preston |

6 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 195466
Brenda, The only "errors" I have seen in the Bible..KJV..are errors in translation. Those are not to be construed as errors in what G-d is presenting us as a road map for eternal salvation. As with any human touched process there will be errors. The 66 books of the Bible were written by 40 some authors... man... over several centuries, in different languages, then translated from those language(s)to english with errors in translation. There are several examples, such as; The Greek word PNUEMA,which means spirit, was improperly translated to Ghost. So we have Holy Ghost used in Scriptures. Properly, it is Holy Spirit. While it should be the goal of each person to know all scripture, we should not loose sight of plain and clear Bible teachings of the three things we must know and accept for eternal salvation; 1)Repentance 2)Baptism 3)Then we must live a righteous life according to G-ds' commandments. It is often said that those are presented in the Bible in a manner that a ten year old can understand. You may wish to do a general search using "Errors in the Bible"...and you will have no problem in having material to read on the subject. A WORD OF CAUTION....validate before you accept findings. |

7 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 195538
Doc, The reason I consider it an error when translated in connection with Holy Spirit...Pneuma is Ghost. But,for hundreds of times in other general scripture translations it appears as spirit. I could never undestand that phenomenon, quite frankly. Strongs Dictionary was used in my reference. Tyndale is hardly a guide on this topic for me, although he serves to fill space in the history books. For Christ, Preston |

You are being hyper critical. Please read the request. It is not a statement. It is a framed question...should you take the time to study it. Also....'To my knowledge'...is not conclusive. Please save it until you are ready to be more definitive. |

10 | Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 223625
CDBJ, Excellent analysis. Just to augment; ...'It is finished"...carries a mush greater meaning than His physical life is ...'finished'. I doubt that was the motovation for the statement. But, rather, His assignment, penalty-pre-determined, was...'finished'..completed....accomplished...achieved, mastered and sealed. I do have trouble with your concluding theory however. To suggest He experienced ...'spiritual'... death conflicts with the meaning of the second death because of sinfulness. He never sinned. I submit, separation of the spirit from the body does not signify a death process of the spirit. The spirit is eternal... be it saved or condemed, which the Bible refers to as the..'second death'. |

11 | Crusifixtion a sacrafice? John 3:16 | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 223646
Some would say there is an attempt at spin here. A no no. He sacrificed His physical life for your and my sin...not his. |

12 | Do you go to hell if you kill yourself | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 231547

14 | Everybody dies with recent sins | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 231568
Allow me to extend my point; Everyone has their pattern for asking forgiveness. For example; I ask morning and night, also, during the day when I recognize I have sinned. After many years G-d knows my plan...therefore ...should I suddenly be taken...illness or accident...He knows that I would have again asked for forgiveness....except that I did not have time to do so. He imputes forgiveness.(This was demonstrated by Him... imputing forgiveness... of the thief on the cross at His crucifixion) This is a common sense thing. G-d Himself determines when and how we end this physical life. Remember it is His desire that no one perish. |
