1 | Why is Jesus addressed as Son of David? | Not Specified | EmmaB | 240527 | ||
Hello there, Ive been reading Luke 18:35-43, the story of Christ healing a blind beggar. I noticed that when the crowds told the beggar that "Jesus of Nazareth" was passing through, he chose to address him as "Son of David". I understand from my Bible notes that the Syro-Phoenician woman (in Mark 7 and Matthew 15) also addressed Jesus with the same title. I am therefore left wondering why these 2 characters referred to him as such? When others referred to him as Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus the Prophet, Jesus the Messiah, etc... Why did these people address him as "Son of David"? Thank you |
