Good evening all, I realize that this is a study forum, but I would like to get a prayer line going for a dear friend, his name is Tim M. He has just been diagnosed with cancer of the prostate: on the right his prostate a Gleason 9 (advanced, very agressive). on the right side a Gleason 6 (mid stage), as well as small cell cancer (early on-set, very agressive) of the prostate; one kidney has already failed. He is married, a grandfather, and still has adolescents at home. His family would appreciate any prayers you might offer on his behalf. Thank you Dhaniei |

MickeyMouxe, Googling works wonders, just type in Caesarea Maritima First Century. You can also try Biblical Archaeology Review, and probably get quite a lot of info there, including possibly photos. Dhaniei |

Dear Justme, If you think your computer may be at fault, you may want to download Ccleaner. It is especially good for people who spend alot of time online and it has NO spyware, adware, or any-ware type junk. I use it on a daily basis. Dhaniei |

7 | Is there a reason to debate? | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 219928
John, I don't see this discussion at all as a debate where one is trying to convince another. I see it as a few people who are sharing views that slightly differ, but it appears all have scriptural basis. We are simply sharing insights, maybe right, maybe wrong, but no one is getting upset, we are just trying to learn.... Isn't that what StudyBibleForum is for? To share and learn? Sorry our discussion offended you. Dhaniei Merry Christmas all. |

8 | Is there a reason to debate? | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 219933
Merry Christmas to you, John The Bible is far from silent regarding the events of the Passion Week. It gives us a timeline, just not explicitely clear to us - but the scriptures are not silent about it. Besides, if God didn't want us asking questions, He would not have created us with inquisitive minds. Today we would not be discussing His word on an internet forum, we would be out in the field without even a wheel or a hoe to help us do our work. Instead, He created us with minds that ask questions, that figure out problems, that bring light and understanding into our lives where once there was darkness and confusion. :o) Dhaniei |

hehehe No need at all to apologize, but thank you for it anyway. People usually do have trouble with my name (how to pronounce it) so I rarely notice it. sure didn't notice it this time. I've misread names on this forum too. Hope your day has been a joyful one? Dhaniei |

John, Just because something has been a part of traditional belief doesn't mean it is true. I recall a man who had a bunch of problems because he discovered that the planets revolved around the sun and not the earth as had been believed up until that time, and many continued to believe that the earth was the center of the universe - but they were wrong!!! How long did the people believe that the Pope was the all in all? How long did the people believe that only the Pope and bishops and elders should be able to read the Bible? Isn't that why the Reformation took place? Cause those people were wrong? (Note, I'm not saying that I'm right, just that long time belief of or in something doesn't make it right.) If you recall, I originally stated that I believe that He arose during the Havdalah period, which, in actuality, would be considered the first day of the week (to the Jews, but not to the Gentiles - to them it would still be Saturday evening). Have a good night Dhaniei |

11 | how can i read the bible | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 220065
Good morning Constantine, The very first way to approach reading of the Bible is prayerfully. The second, and just as important way is expectantly. Just as you approach the breakfast or dinner table, quite hungry, you EXPECT to be nourished and satisfied to the fullest with the best foods available. You won't get better food than God's Word. Always remain in awe, wonderment, amazement, humility and prayerful as you digest His Word and you'll never leave His table unfulfilled. Dhaniei |

12 | What is origin of grace before meal? | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 220074
Good evening Niaboc, According to Dt. 8:10 the Jews generally bless God after a meal. I believe the tradition of the blessing before the meal would come from Messiah's blessing of the loaves and fishes as seen in the NT. By "blessing" I'm speaking of thanking God for the food, the family, friends, etc at the table. Is that what you mean by "grace?" Dhaniei |

Doc, Thank you for the further info, but isn't blessing food a somewhat superstitious thing to do? Thank God for His goodness, yes; request blessings on those at table with you, yes; bless the food? for what reason? Why does that which God considers to be food and good for nourishment need to be blessed? I can see in the feeding of the multitudes that Messiah blessed the food, but I'd always seen that as possibly being for a miraculous increase over what would have been normally possible with what was available. That wouldn't be necessary at an ordinary dinner table... Dhaniei |

Shalom Wejlly, I'm guessing that you are questioning the word "divers'? That is simply an early English word (used in KJV) meaning diverse, different, etc. If it is some other type question that you have, could you please rephrase? Dhaniei |

Hi prr, I have one, it's 2 columns, verse by verse, with references at the end of verses (Just to be sure we are on the same page, my large font NASB is size 15 font, genuine leather, runs about 50-55 dollars at the local bible store.) You can also go to CDB and pull up several pages to view. Dhaniei |

Doc, Lockman itself sends one to one of 3 different sellers. I noted CDB (one of the three) from experience, usually the lowest price, quick shipping, and it lets you take a look at the inside of most bibles. Sorry for misunderstanding Dhaniei |

19 | Five fingers relation with the Church | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 220351
Makarios, I think the person may be referring to the WOF version of the hand. It's not scriptural, but here it goes: Thumb represents Apostle because it covers the whole hand, and is distinctly NOT a finger but can stand in any of the other four "offices" quite admirably. Pointing Finger represents the Prophet (which is the office of Hinn, Copeland, Hagen, etc, according to themselves) because they point the people to God, to repentance, to turn away from sin, etc. Middle Finger represents the Evangelist because it stands the tallest, is easiest seen and recognized, is the "glue" keeping the other four digits in unity. The Ring Finger represents the Pastor because it is the finger symbolizing the "marriage" of the church to God and to the five-fold ministry. Little Finger represents the teacher, small but vital to the health of the whole hand, without it the hand may live on but it will be malnourished and deformed. :o) Dhaniei |

20 | Pierced Jesus side | Bible general Archive 4 | Dhaniei Zewditu | 221226
Dear watchman I see a correlation in Num. 20 regarding the rites of purification. Blood and living (running) water were required. There needed to be living water ALONG with the blood for the Saviro to fully cleanse us of our sin. It was noted in the gospel as miraculous because, as you stated, He had already died, it shouldn't have happened. |
