In mediating on the parable of the ten virgins, the foolish did not have oil. There by missing entrance. The wise responded, go get from those who sell (Preachers, bible teacher, books etc.? by then it is too late.) Appling this today as followers, keeping our lamps trim (our spiritual state), the spirit must continuously be maintained (replenished). John 6:63 answers the symbolism of the word. When we keep and meditate on the word, the spirit is continually maintained in us. Our minds are continually renewed. Also our actions (Psalm 119:11). So, just a deeper revelation of the bible symbols, lack of oil in your lamp means what. Not being prepared when we here the loud cry of the bride groom. Thanks, God Bless! |

6 | Who says the Sabbath is on Sunday | Bible general Archive 2 | David1740 | 124197
A small observation and reasoning to myself. If confuse over this or any decision making in your life, ask the question, what is the heart of God? If we say we know him, then would he not over the hundreds of years of church history indicate his displeasure with worshiping on Sunday? Especially to the apostles! If a man is to work by the sweat of his brow and give 10 percent tithes, all of this by God’s provision, why would God provide employment for Christians who work on Saturday or Sunday or both days? Wouldn’t that person choose a weekday to spend time with him? What is the heart of God? There no confuse in this matter, why keep asking and seeking something other than. Beware of the trickery of the enemy? As in the Garden of Eden. Apply doubt to their hearts even though they know the truth. Has anyone been convicted by the Holy Spirit on this? Would we go back and try to pickup the Law again? Thanks for sharing. |

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Wow, focusing on the details and missing the main point. Spending time with the Lord with a willing, joyous, glad heart, isn’t that what he requires? Since we are to seek him and worship him everyday building our relationship we him, wouldn’t you say on some level, we are keeping Sabbath. We are the Temple and in the Temple that’s where the Sabbath is kept. Searcher56---Deu 14: 23 “….The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to fear the LORD your God.” Luke 21 1While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people putting their gifts into the collection box. 2Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two pennies.[1] 3"I assure you," he said, "this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. 4For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has." Would you say she gave from her heart? She could not have fulfilled the required law. All of God’s word is to be reverence, but Jesus fulfilled all the Laws. |

Country Girl, please help to understand your stand on this matter of Sabbath on Sunday. I say this because of the prior posts and my notes. The widow’s praising attitude I agree with. But Searcher56 referred to the different types of titles, which I questioned if the widow could have followed the Law as she was poor. Kalos, please answer my post without any references, quotes, or scripture, but from your heart and relationship experience the Lord. What is your feeling on Sabbath on Sunday as it would apply to; say doctors or nurses working on Sat. or Sun. What day would be Sabbath for them? |

14 | What is the name of the river in Eden ? | Gen 2:8 | David1740 | 125584
pbp, read deep and close! Genesis 2:8 A garden was planted. Where, eastward of Eden. Eden is the name of the place. The garden was planted eastward of the place(Eden). The river is flowing from the place or source in the place (Eden), watering the garden there. I haven't seen a name for the river. Read even closer, and you'll see that Adam was not created in the garden but place there or in the garden. So, where was Adam created. No location or name was given. God Bless!

CuriousChristian, at this time, I can't think of a time of battle, but David almost killed because of anger. See 1 Samuel 25 the story of Nabal and Abigail. Hope that helps.
16 | is it ok to kill? | Eccl 3:3 | David1740 | 125150
Thinking of it, a time to kill reflects a time of war, as the bible had many. Thou shall not kill, is an a individual act. Mostly selfish motives.
17 | Does God answer using a holy spirit? | Is 41:17 | David1740 | 125152
I think I'm misunderstanding your question. However, think of the verse of scripture, only the Lord can provide water, unless he moves someone to bring a glass or jug of water to a needy person. But provide a body or volume of water, only he alone can. Spiritual--Christ the living water. The afflicted and needy seek water. See John 4:10 and John 7:38-39. The Lord bless you. |
