In Matt 15:21-28, Jesus tells the Canaanite woman that He was "sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (v.24) when she asked for mercy (v.22). How does that line up with what He teaches in the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) about showing mercy towards our neighbors? |

7 | Simon wanting to buy Holy Spirit Acts 8 | Matt 13:20 | DEL | 73162
Can someone believe on JESUS for selfish reasons in a moment of feeling the need for something( ie. love, hope, peace, prosperity), walk the aisle at a church for salvation, yet not have a saving faith? I am reminded of Simon in Acts 8: 14-24. Was he saved?
8 | true intentions | Matt 21:28 | DEL | 106147
I agree this is an example of the true intentions of our hearts. The first son showed a rebellious spirit by saying "No", then after a while, he got bored or something so he thought "Well I've got nothing better to do, I might as well do what my father wanted." The second son, however, was willing to be obedient and please his father, but was probably distracted by something, so did not go. The chief priests did not look at the intentions of the heart, but just at the results. GOD looks at the heart. David truly wanted to build the temple with all his heart, GOD wouldn't let him, but allowed him the preparation for it and was pleased that David was a man after HIS own heart.
