1 | The future of loved pets | Not Specified | CDBJ | 19099
I don't know of any verses to help me with what I am going through, as far as grief. Someone shot my pet that I loved, very, very much and I had to have it put to sleep. Having it was such a joy and it was such a friend; it was just a little over a year old and so full of life. The Bible says that when we loose a person, that is a believer, that we sorrow not as those who have no hope, because we know that we will see them again and be with them, just as king David stated about the loss of his young son. I went to the Throne of Grace and ask for the Lord to help me with this problem and that was all I could do. There might be some that think I am very foolish about this but believe me I really hurt. Does anyone have any verses on the future of animals or at least a good comforting concept? I know from scripture that there are horses in Heaven but what else. 2 | The GAP theory could be true. | Not Specified | CDBJ | 19898
We know that all true science parse, backs up the Bible and when the truth of scripture is found, it always stands in judgment of us, we never stand in judgment of it. There are those that say that the GAP theory of the Bible, Gen.1:1 to Gen. 1:2, has no grounds even though there are different concepts even within the GAP theory. Now it is a proven fact that some petroleum is found at depth over a mile deep. Now that is a great amount of mantel or earth over the top of it. It is also a proven fact that petroleum is made up of compressed decaying organic mater, plant and animal life, that's not disputed. Gen. 6:14 is the command to Noah: Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. There are areas where petroleum comes to the surface i.e. slime pits. Petroleum is formed under Earth's surface by the decomposition of marine organisms. The remains of tiny organisms that live in the sea and, to a lesser extent, those of land organisms that are carried down to the sea in rivers and of plants that grow on the ocean bottoms are enmeshed with the fine sands and silts that settle to the bottom in quiet sea basins. Such deposits, which are rich in organic materials, become the source rocks for the generation of crude oil. The process began many millions of years ago with the development of abundant life, and it continues to this day. The sediments grow thicker and sink into the seafloor under their own weight. As additional deposits pile up, the pressure on the ones below increases several thousand times, and the temperature rises by several hundred degrees. The mud and sand harden into shale and sandstone; carbonate precipitates and skeletal shells harden into limestone; and the remains of the dead organisms are transformed into crude oil and natural gas. Once the petroleum forms, it flows upward in Earth's crust because it has a lower density than the brines that saturate the interstices of the shale's, sands, and carbonate rocks that constitute the crust of Earth. The crude oil and natural gas rise into the microscopic pores of the coarser sediments lying above. Frequently, the rising material encounters an impermeable shale or dense layer of rock that prevents further migration; the oil has become trapped, and a reservoir of petroleum is formed. A significant amount of the upward-migrating oil, however, does not encounter impermeable rock but instead flows out at the surface of Earth or onto the ocean floor. Surface deposits also include bituminous lakes and escaping natural gas and slime pits. The time from Adam to Noah was not enough time to make petroleum much less put over a mile of earth on top of it, as is the case: Therefore giving rise to some possibility of the GAP theory. I am NOT saying that there was human life before God created Adam, I am saying that between Gen.1:1 and 2, that God was preparing Earth for man, thus the GAP. |

3 | Are all at the white throne judg. lost? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 35262
Revelation 20:11 speaks of the great white throne and the assumption is that all that are judged at this judgment will be the lost. If that is the case why is verse 15 of chapter 20 even recorded? Rev. 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. |

4 | Who can refute reasoning? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 37028
People have been responding on this forum with what they think is within the responsibility of those that believe, in order to be saved; the options are varied. The big ones are baptism, communion, speaking with tongues and faith with works. All of these can be eliminated by one verse or another when one uses the Scripture as the final authority. I would like to ask if there is any way to eliminate what I have to suggest, that comes from Isaiah. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. The one thing that cannot be eliminated from the process of salvation that is found in Isaiah, is REASON! We all know that God has provided salvation to all through His Son. John wrote his portion of the gospel so that we might have life by believing in Jesus. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. The only thing that one must include in order to have salvation is the ability to think, or as God said through Isaiah, the ability to reason. The process of reasoning is none meritorious action on the part of the one doing the thinking and the Holy Spirit guides the thought process. As long as a person has the ability to reason they can be saved. The ability to do anything but reason it excluded and that takes care of all the other scenarios otherwise God is a respecter of persons, which we know is false. Reasoning is the only possible option for the thief on the cross because he can do nothing, other then think. A person could be buried hundreds of feet under ground in a mine and unable to talk to anyone, be baptized, speak in tongues or anything else, but if they can still reason, God is able to save their soul, if they are willing to believe in Jesus Christ and trust in Him for their eternal future. Can anyone refute this with Scripture? CDBJ |

8 | Prayer needed!!!! | Not Specified | CDBJ | 128003
To all please, I just noticed that our nation has been put on a high terrorist alert, orange; which means that we, as Christians, should be on a high priority prayer alert to pray for our nation and its leaders! 1 Tim. 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 9 | Do we need prophets today? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 135507
In view of the fact that we have the completed Word of God, the Bible, is the gift of prophecy still in operation today and if so is it necessary apart from Scripture? 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Matthew 22:1-14 states the following. Matthew 22:1-14 (NASB) And Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying, [2] "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king, who gave a wedding feast for his son. [3] "And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come. [4] "Again he sent out other slaves saying, 'Tell those who have been invited, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast." ' [5] "But they paid no attention and went their way, one to his own farm, another to his business, [6] and the rest seized his slaves and mistreated them and killed them. [7] "But the king was enraged and sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire. [8] "Then he said to his slaves, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. [9] 'Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.' [10] "And those slaves went out into the streets, and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests. [11] "But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw there a man not dressed in wedding clothes, [12] and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And he was speechless. [13] "Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' [14] "For many are called, but few are chosen." For a better understand of Scripture it helps to understand the era in which it was written. The Question is this. Did the kings of old, Christ era, provide robes for the entire guest list to wear to the wedding feast? What were the acceptable “wedding clothes Have a great day, CDBJ |

Almost every funeral that I have attend, where a believer has gone home to be with the Lord, the one officiating will say; “Brother or sister, so and so, has gone to a place where there is no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain”. The conditions spoken of in Revelation are brought out to those in attendance at the funeral, as immediate conditions for the deceased. In “my” estimation, the situation is being placed out of setting and it isn’t correct to infer that the one who has just passed away will actually be enjoying "all" of the benefits mentioned in the verse in Revelation 21:4 upon their arrival with the Lord. Rev. 21:1-5 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Are there any thoughts that would suggest otherwise on the timing of the events taking place in Rev. 21:1-5 The way I see it, verse 4 can’t precede verses 1-3 and the key to the timing is found in the first 3 verses. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

15 | Assumption or truth? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 159660
I have heard numerous, “well meaning people”; say that in order to become a born again believer one must invite Jesus into their heart and make Jesus the Lord of their life. Where are the actual verses, which require those functions, found in the Bible? Or are some trying to direct unbelievers into a course action that is not supported by Scripture and thus giving them a false hope? John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: [31] But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Where does the USA stand today? Psalm 2:1-3 (KJV) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. Psalm 2:1-3 (version as seen in the USA) Why do people go on and on trying to remove God from their lives? (2)All of the nations are becoming hostile, and they are forming charters together, to eliminate God from their thinking, and restrict the name of Jesus. (3)Let’s eliminate prayer and the commandments and the Word of God from all municipal places, and let's get God out of our lives so we can all be happy! Look out USA, verses four and five are sure to follow! Psalm 2:4-5 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. [5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. HOW do we stop the process? Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 Chron. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: No comments necessary, CDBJ |

17 | Decisional regeneration? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 169712
Having just attended a memorial service for a Christian that now resides in the presents of the Lord, there was something that caught my attention that I have heard hundreds of times, by about as many pastors, but this time it just seemed to jump out at me. The pastor that held the service presented a very good message on God’s plan for mankind with emphasis on the gospel message. He ended his message by saying: “If anyone wanted to have a relationship with Christ, and be saved, all that they needed to do was to ask Jesus to come into their heart and ask God to forgive them and surrender their life to Christ.” Question: Where in the Bible are these recommendations for “salvation” found? I’m sure I’m not the only one who has heard this! Wouldn’t we be better to stay with what the Scripture actually says? John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: [31] But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. I know that people mean well but that just isn’t the way to be saved. Ephes. 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: CDBJ x |

18 | Forgiven or not Forgiven? | Not Specified | CDBJ | 170298
Just as adding any human activity to faith in Christ for salvation nullifies salvation; why wouldn’t the effect be the same when adding any human activity to the action of Confess in I John 1:9 and thereby nullifying forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God forgives us when we confess our sins only because of what Jesus did on the cross for those sins. I’m not forgiven because of X amount of remorse or sorrow or an overactive guilt complex. When one repents as an “unbeliever” he has a change of mind and then believes in Jesus and receives indwelling. When one repents as a “believer” he has a change of mind and confesses his sins for forgiveness and is restored to fellowship. Are there any opinions on this? CDBJ |

19 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Not Specified | CDBJ | 184410
Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This is the first mention of the tree of life then it is mentioned and referenced again in the follow verses. Genesis 3:22-24 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: 23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Emphasis on the words for ever, which in some translations the word is combined as “forever”. The question is, since in the English we find the word “forever”, which is the Hebrew word “AWLAM”, does it actually mean a continuance from that point on into eternity? All that I have studied would say yes, since man, from that moment on, had an old sin nature and God didn’t want him to continue on in that condition into eternity and apart from God. Carrying that thought, it’s informative to notice that the word “AWLAM” is also used in numerous passages where the assumption of eternity isn’t plausible. Example: Leviticus 25:45-46 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour. Here is where I am running into a problem trying to figure this out. During the thousand years of Theocracy there will still be those repopulating the earth that are in their human bodies and procreating and carrying on the seed of Adam, which is still contaminated by the old sin nature, thus there will still be suffering in the world and illness in the world. The tree of life is mentioned again in the book of revelation several times. It “appears to me” that only those in glorified bodies will be allowed to eat the actual “fruit” of the tree of life but the leaves will be used for those that are still in mortal bodies as a way to heal them. Rev. 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Rev. 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Rev. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Are there any different takes on this? CDBJ |
