It is not for me to say about the left wingers. some of my favorite Christians are left wing in their politics. I think i have some of each in me. zztoaa |

Thanks, Jeshuafreak. Someone said it takes two wings to fly. they were talking about our right and left wing politics. but i think it also stands for our 'Political' differences in the Body of Christ. We need the "right-wingers" to hold up the standard. The "left-wingers" focus on the inside. We will meet in the middle and follow the Head. zztoaa |

Hi, again. Being an introvert it helps me to stop and think of a response. I believe the two people who replied missed the point of my comments. I obviously didn't say them right. Since i am essentially anonymous on this forum, I can tell you that I am an AA member. Having said that, I add the disclaimer that i do not speak for AA, i speak only of my own experience. My experience personally is that as i clean the inside of my cup as AA suggests in their 12 steps, the outside gets clean as well. for my friends who are acting out in a homosexual lifestyle, i believe my job is to help them clean the inside of the cup. the outside will take care of itself. When i was drinking it would have done me no good for someone to come to me and tell me that my excessive drinking is a sin (note the word excessive. If Christians can smoke cannabis, then i guess we can drink alcohol). But AA taught me that my drinking was only a symptom of deeper problems, problems that i must take responsibility for. When i took responsibility for them, i no longer needed or wanted to drink. I see the same thing can go for homosexuality. (although the Bible does talk about eunuchs and i am not sure where they fit into this whole thing) Go to the root of the sin nature, the rest will be taken care of. I hope that clarifies better what i was trying to say. thanks for being willing to discuss this. by the way, i replied because it was suggested that we needed to be open to such discussions. |

I too liked the comments about what is it that makes us unclean.? Not what we put into our body but what is in our heart.[mark 7.21] I am dealing iwth this iwth the issue of homosexuality. the ministry i work with and for upholds the standard of heterosexual marriage. people i minister to act out in homosexual lifestyles. i do not judge them, or at least i don't think i do. the problem comes in when and if the person should want to become a part of the ministry. i believe the standard is right but i also believe that i have to allow G-d to bring someone to that standard in His time not mine. i am blessed because i accept that standard for me. i don't have to fight the issue personally. i do have to rely on G-d to enable me to maintain that standard. i am a single woman working among many men. i have to trust that G-d will allow me to express myself in ways other than sexual. what is great is that one of my greatest friends in the ministry is one who openly encourages people to express their homosexuality. we are at opposite ends of the pole. but we have found a way to let each other live out their values unhindered. the common ground is that we love the sinner and what them to know more of the love of G-d. Isn't that the point after all? |
