1 | a devotional thot that blessed me | Ps 107:6 | wrightmor | 86841
This whole chapter (Psm 107) is laid out beautifully. verses 6, 13, 19, and 28 all record men under different sets of adverse circumstances, crying out to God. The next verse (7, 14, 18, 27) record God's responsive deliverance and then the next verse (8, 15, 19, 28) record their twofold confession: 1. to God his kindness (thanksgiving) and 2. to men (testimony) his wonders. |

2 | God's intent for man | Deut 30:20 | wrightmor | 83441
"Choose life" is further defined here. We choose life by loving the Lord, obeying His voice and clinging to Him. Not only did God give us direction to choose life (desiring our good), but He spelled it out for us, much as a father would say to his child, "watch my lips, listen closely. This is very important. Here how you do it."
3 | God's intent for man | Deut 30:19 | wrightmor | 83440
"in order that you may live" God's intent is our good. Basic, stripped down to the bone truth is He desires for us the good life and the most blessed life. Multiple other scriptures bear this out. Peter says "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all ... live. Jesus said "I have come that they might have life," More abundant is even implied here in that the life continues to "your descendants". |
