1 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | wilyelder | 217024
You are correct. Nowhere does the scripture state that Jesus is the Sabbath. The Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5). On the other hand, katapausis is a fair distance from sabbatismos and would generally make the both the Sabbath argument and the Sunday argument a moot issue in that particular context. The narrow way is to obey God in spite of encouragement to disobey. |

3 | Were priests electrocuted? | 2 Tim 2:15 | wilyelder | 213581
Hello Brad, I neither confirmed or denied the idea of electrical shock, but indicated the possibility of the Sadducee High Priest being struck dead by God on the day of Atonement, and the High Priest's supervision by the Pharisees who maintained control over the high priest. You seem to have had a problem finding one of the references: The Temple by Edersheim. The reference begins at the top of page 245, and is titled as: The Duties of the High Priest. The paragraph starts with the word: Seven. Take care. -Wily ----- Leviticus 16:2 Exodus 28:34-35 Danby, Herbert, Mishna, Yoma 1:1-5, pages 162-163, © 1933 Oxford University Press Dankenbring, William, Sadducees Versus Pharisees –Who Really Controlled Temple Services in the Time of Christ? 2008 Triumph Prophetic Ministries, Omak, WA, United States Edersheim, Alfred, The Temple: Its Ministry and Services, p.245, © 1995 Hendrickson Publishers Mendelsohn, Bob, How Shall A Man Approach God? 2008 Jews For Jesus, Sydney, Australia Soncino Zohar, Vayikra, Section 3, Page 102a, 1984 Brooklyn, NY, United States |

5 | Love for all, judge not anyone | OT general | wilyelder | 213224
Would they be entitled to eternal life with God? No. No man is justified by the law in the sight of God...The Just shall live by faith (Galatians 3:11). What kind of faith? There is dead faith and there is live faith. Faith without works is a dead faith (James 2:26). In addition to works, there is also the issue of obedience. I know it is a popular notion that disobedience to God is okay because, after all, we're under grace. Right? "What shall be say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God Forbid...." (Romans 6:1-2). And what is sin? Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) Let no one judge you in meat. Have some steak if you desire to, or some lamb. In drink. Have some wine if you choose (1 Timothy 5:23). In respect of a holy day. Don't allow anyone to judge you for keeping the celebrations of the Father as outlined in Leviticus chapter 23 (no need for the sacrifices, of course, thanks to the sacrifice of Christ). New moon. You can celebrate a new moon if you choose. God doesn't require it but you can still do it as a get together. Or of the Sabbath days. Don't allow anyone to judge you for remembering what was commanded in the fourth commandment. He said, remember. He knew we'd forget. It is certainly good to not frustrate the grace of God. Without grace through the sacrifice of Christ none of us would even start the process of salvation. |

Hello Kam. Rest on the Sabbath day is the only one from the Ten Commandments. The other 3 are not written in stone. Yes, it is a shame that people do not remember the Sabbath, and thereby miss out on a great benefit from the Creator. Take care. -Wily |

Hello Kam. The importance of keeping the commandments continues into the future. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). The importance of the commandments is shown not only in the fact that they were written in stone, but also their placement in the ark of the covenant. The law of the covenant of Jordan, sometimes called the second law, was put in the side of the ark (Deuteronomy 31:24-27). This is not to indicate that a person cannot be blessed for obeying ordinances that are outside the Ten Commandments. Keeping the Feast of First fruits (the feast of weeks) causes one to understand the plan of God in regard to people who are being called to be a part of Christ's headquarters team. Keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread causes one to understand coming out of sin just as the children of Israel came out of bondage from Egypt. Pharaoh is symbolic of Satan. Egypt is symbolic of sin. What is sin? It is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). Even logic alone would tell us that keeping the ten commandments is more important than avoiding boiling a young goat in its mother's milk. Of course, I don't boil milk at all. It destroys the live-giving enzymes. |
