1 | Moabites forbidden and Ruth allowed?? | Deut 23:3 | skccab | 214588
MJH Shalom, Thank you so much!! John and I had come to a conclusion and your addition just added to what we concluded. I like your #3 the best also. (And I'm right with you on your opening statement about the Torah (:o ) Thank you for taking the time and effort for me. I should have figured it out, but there are times my ol' brain just doesn't want to work right - when that happens, it sure is nice to know I have learned brothers and sisters to help out! lol. 2 | Moabites forbidden and Ruth allowed?? | Deut 23:3 | skccab | 214567
Shalom again John, Gotcha!! I think we're on the same page, I was asking only in the context of the "OT bible days". I use the NKJV mostly, and it reads like the ESV you quoted, and I knew I was missing something, just couldn't figure out what :o) Cheri |

3 | Moabites forbidden and Ruth allowed?? | Deut 23:3 | skccab | 214563
Hiya, I was thinking in terms of one of the Ammonites/Moabites joining themselves to Israel thru conversion, so I'm not sure of that, cos it would go against the "will not...forever" statement. But I can agree that the women and girls could be exempt from it, maybe even young boys who were still teachable....???? Good discussion, thank you. Cheri |

4 | Moabites forbidden and Ruth allowed?? | Deut 23:3 | skccab | 214561
Thanks John, That's pretty much what I figured, males only. Like I've told you before, when I begin reading Gill, he's sooo good, I forget why I went there. Thanks for being focused for me.....!!!!! Cheri |

5 | False Prophet | 2 Cor 11:13 | skccab | 214534
Greetings Brad, Thanks for posting these "predictions." I can be pretty gullible, but even I would not fall for this guy's jokes!! I don't know how he sold himself to so many others, it's amazing!! He's laughable. Cheri |

6 | does God still send prophets? | 2 Cor 11:13 | skccab | 214513
Cowboy, What credentials do you possess that affords you the right and ability to ascertain BradK's witness as being false??? BradK is one, among many here on SBF, that has no credentials to his name but the One Whom he preaches and teaches. If it's in the Scriptures, BradK speaks it, if it is not, you will not hear it from him. Brad, I couldn't be quiet on this one :o) Cheri |

7 | HOW DO WE HELP THOSE IN NEED? | 1 Tim 2:3 | skccab | 214493
Shalom Justme, Have you heard of Time Banking? With the group of people you are already feeding maybe you could get that started? It's a program that sees that everyone has something to offer that someone else needs - i.e., tudoring a child, fixing a roof, cleaning a home, mowing a lawn, etc. As one gives an hour or so of their time and talent to another, they deposit that time for someone else to do something for them that they cannot do for themselves (that is they don't know how to do it or cannot afford to pay for it). I'm looking into getting something like this started where I live. Cheri |

8 | What would make this allogory? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214232
Shalom Bibleman, Sorry, I have neglected to welcome you to SBF. I'm so pleased to have you with us! I thought that they all were, interracial, that is... :o) I attend a fellowship mixed with Jewish believers and gentile believers, and it wouldn't surprise me to find a few ex-catholics (as this state is a big catholic state). We got Russian, Chinese, Mexican, interracial families - all the different colors (not speaking just of skin, but of culture, modes of thinking and behaving, etc.) that make up this little fellowship paints one very beautiful masterpiece that only the Lord could possibly conceive. I feel sooo privileged and blessed to be a part of it. Cheri |

9 | What would make this allogory? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214226
Greetings John, Very well stated, bro. God's family is made up of all kinds of folks, and we each come with our paint brush and colors. When we all get together, the Spirit comes up with ONE extraordinarily fine picture. Cheri |

10 | This generation will not pass away.... | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 214213
Shalom Vintage, You've made some valid points, for sure, but in what context? There are some who believe that it all took place in 70AD and we are now in the 1000yr reign??? Of course, I would beg to differ. (If we are in a reign of peace, I sure would hate to see what a period of discord is like! lol) I'm prety laid back on the end times speculation, it's enough to know that I have a part in it, somehow, somewhere, sometime. For the present, my part is to make the life and breath God has given me today count for somethng, that He shines through. If you get it figured out, let me know :o) Cheri |

11 | Can one pray after his/her death? | 1 John 3:2 | skccab | 214082
Shalom John, This is not prayer for a change of what is already fixed, but it is "prayer" which is what the question was about. Rev. 6:9-11. So, according to that passage, there is definitely prayer-conversation still going on after death... Cheri |

13 | Reason 4 "6" Cities of Refuge? | Num 35:6 | skccab | 213944
Shalom Angela, Yes, I know that numbers very oftem are significant in Scripture, but in this case???? As far as you question about 2 tribal areas per city, I had thought of that for a moment, but the designation was 3 on either side of the Jordan, and if I recall correctly there were only 2 tribes that did not enter the promised land proper, so that figuring wouldn't work.... Sounds like you and your "ladies" are going to have fun...Sorry, though, I can't really help you in the customs thing. I just get little snippets here and there from Talmud, Josephus, teachings, etc. I know very little about the family structure in our Master's time... I know that there are books out there that would be of interest to you, but I don't know of them. I'm sure some of the other SBFers will be able to help you there. :o) Keep us informed on your classes, or email me with updates (in my profile) - it really sounds like you're going to have fun. Cheri |

14 | Heavenly or Earthly Messengers? | Gen 32:1 | skccab | 213930
Good morning Savannah, Thank you for the response. I think you may be right since there doesn't seem to be any further mention of these particular "messengers".... Have a great day! Cheri |

Dear PO Box, The answer is in the Book. Read. Study. We, as Christians, cannot be a part of cheating, even if it's only the cheating of yourself the joy of learning. The mom in me will tell you the very same thing I told my younhg'un - an honest best-effort D is far better than a dishonest, unearned A. Cheri |

18 | How Holy Is Marriage? | Matt 16:6 | skccab | 213580
Shalom Alway learning, I've stayed out of this conversation so far, but maybe I can clear up at least one of your questions. You asked Val (and I'm sure she'll probably give you a better answer), "These things I write only to ask why is it these folks must turn away from and not practice “their” sin without considering our own “repetitious” sins? How am I justified in my adulterous marriage?" You made a vow before God when you married the first time (or maybe you weren't a true believer at that time and maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you can make a vow before a God that you don't know...?) but this marriage was also a vow that you did make before your God Whom you know, the King of the Universe. To break this vow would certainly be sin. The two people that you are concerned about have NOT made a vow before God. Do you see the differences? Your's and your spouse's union is in harmony with His word and will and vows have been made and accepted between the three of you. The two people in question are not in a union in harmony with God's word and will, no vows have been made before God, nor accepted by Him. I, too, have had many very good friends in that kind of a union (two of my bosses from years ago were married, in their minds, to each other; I roommated with a bisexual, a homosexual and one man who had gone thru the transexual operation all at one time - that was a very interesting year to say the least!!), so to a point I can feel what you're going through. These people are so deceived, have such dark blinders on, and the rest of the world's views only tend to deepen their blindness, and it just leaves those of us who care for them hurting, and seemingly at a loss...But our God is brighter than their darkness if we will just stand our ground. Love them, love them with everything that's in you, but in loving them, you don't have to accept and approve of their lifestyle. We have to stand strong in what the Word says. If we begin making allowances in one area, pretty soon, Christians will look no different from the world. Remember, God loves the homosexuals, not the homosexuality, the sinner but not the sin. Just like a heterosexual single person must live a celibate life - so must a homosexual live a celibate life (if they believe they cannot change - and that's something I won't dispute, I don't think anyone scientifically can). Sorry I couldn't help further, but from what I understand of your situation personally, you are not living in sin with your new spouse. Cheri |

19 | is a christian allowed to drink | 1 Cor 6:10 | skccab | 213555
Shalom Beja, We, here at SBF, are pretty good at "correctly" reading typos, no need for apologies. Lol. I have truly enjoyed following your posts, very insightful and compassionate. Cheri |

20 | Did God bless the beasts as well | Gen 1:25 | skccab | 213429
Hiya sis, No problem. I meant to wish you a happy new year but I thought of it too early, then I must admit that I forgot it.... :o( So - A belated Happy!! I can't give anymore ideas on this. Since MJH mentioned the Hebrew wording, maybe there's something there. I'll bring it up to my pastor (we're going thru the book of Genesis anyway). He teaches Hebtew, so maybe he can enlighten us? I'll let you know what he says this weekend. :o) Cheri |
