The phrase "He restoreth my soul" in the 23rd Psalm is better translated in the original Hebrew, He brings me back to repentance. God, through the Holy Spirit convicts His own of their sin. I agree with what you said. Because we are still flesh on this earth, we must continually deal with our sin before God. We must confess, turn, to turn means to have a change of heart.
