I agree. Doc was right. He is generous in his approach to redirecting. I, being new to this forum, am learning the counsel given in the TOU about not having personal, face to face, interaction. By your response, my first thoughts went to Timothy and John Mark in this situation. I have problems, sometimes articulating what really is in my heart with clarity. However I am familiar all to well with forums that get pulled away from the true reason for fellowship. That's why I am here. I thank You and Doc for your longevity on this forum and your efforts to keep newcomers focused and encouraged. At times I may not understand the response but am encouraged that there are those who strive for grace in correction. Thank you again Thanks to Doc and Thanks to our Savior Jesus the Christ In Him Manny |

2 | Is telling a white lie ok? | Bible general Archive 4 | pjmacaz | 237640 | ||
So true and right on point. I believe that the legalistic person has to do what is impossible for most. Look inside ourselves. One who would shackle another without giving the Good News according to scripture, is really condemning themselves. A person who struggles but with a contrite heart to overcome their sin and who goes before God with a true and humble heart, is better than the pharisee (see Luke 18:11) Some ask why the world is so judgmental towards Christians. I would ask "if one would stand a better chance if we took a better understanding of Matthew 7:1,2 ASV. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you. I understand that we judge the actions by (God's word) of those committing the act and not the heart of the person. I pray that as I speak to those who are still in sin that it is Jesus, the Gospel and His righteousness I focus on, remembering were my heart was the day before I turned to Christ. Thanks for your response continue if you please. |

First, please accept prayer that recovery from whatever is causing you discomfort, be swift and complete. I am truly looking forward to your insight and the insight of others that have responded to others with wisdom and compassion. I can tell by the words you have written and the manner of the delivery that you are a person that loves the Lord and are educated in mind and spirit. Thank you for your answer. I find that even with the prophetic, historical and archeological proofs of the bible's accuracies, there are those that still choose to ignore that all persons, born after Adam and Eve's fall at the Garden, were born separated from God. When I did a study today with my wife I found the word "unbeliever" translated differently in the NKJV, NASB and the NIV in verse 2 of Acts 14. In the Greek (strong's #544) it show a willful and/or disobedient choice not to believe. Your reference of Paul's discourse to the Philippians in chapter 3 is evidence that shows that it wasn't until his conversion and encounter with Jesus that he was able to honestly see the sin in his life and referring to all, education and training as "rubbish" compared to the "knowledge of Christ. When we look at 1 Timothy 1:13-15 and Titus 3:3 we can see a comparison of the old and new man. I believe you are correct in articulating that man's need to take honest accounting for righteousness between Christ and oneself is more beneficial than between one another. Only then can we acknowledge the true nature of our sin and need for Christ and His atoning sacrifice in our lives. I pray for the educated when they encounter babes in Christ and future believers. I use to ask myself how could I truly be a Christian when I had such bitterness in my heart when I looked at certain people? It wasn't until my prayer was focused towards seeing those in gross sin as God does. With Love, Compassion and Hope of Repentance in their lives. May God Keep you and I look forward to your response.
