there are no 'rules' in the new testament. we now have the builder. before they only had the plan. the law is internalized, i will write them in your heart. the 'rules' for deacon are not rules, they are guides. etc... |

4 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57820
the main point is that the good news is that jesus has already died for your sins. the bill has been paid. it is not in the bank waiting for you to write the check. but that is not a lost person's problem. he needs life for death. it is the spirit that gives life. and christians need to know for sure that they are forgiven and get off their guilt trips and replace them with joy and praise. |

5 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57816
that is your choice but i have to think of the scripture more as a unit that doesn't contradict it's self. therefore i can't answer some questions without broadening them. i am not trying to win an argument, i am just trying to share what i have sought out in scripture. there are many who don't believe what i say is true but there are some who will gladly accept it and get ride of their guilt trips. |

7 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57814
certainly they must believe. just as the person in the wilderness had to look upon the serpent to be saved from snakebite. i didn't say that i was a universalist. i am saying that forgiveness of sin doesn't save a person, it is faith in the act of jesus enough to ask for life. will a man give his son a stone if he asks for bread? neither will the father refuse the spirit to those who ask |

8 | romans seven wretched man | Rom 7:1 | packer | 57797
romans seven seems to be a hard scripture to interpret. this is how i see it. explaination, illustration, application, result. romans six explaination, romans seven illustration, about marriage, we can't be married to christ until we die to our other spouse, adam. application, paul killed people for not keeping the law he couldn't keep trying to justify himself. he was as frustrated and a lot of preachers who break the law and then condemn others for it. he was a wretched man. result, he turned to christ, there is therefore no condemnation for those in christ. |

9 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57796
we are in the time period of post (after) the death of Christ on the cross. hebrews says what we already know that a person has to die to have his will probated. that will was probated and the inheritance (promised gift)(the holy spirit) was distributed. therefore the bible has to be divided at the second chapter of acts, not at the beginning of matthew. because of this we can't let old testament override new testament |

10 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57793
i don't mind. i just have seen preachers struggle to get people saved and have wondered why. i think all preachers want people to be saved for selfish and unselfish reasons. but why aren't they being saved. how can they believe if they are not taught... it is the holy spirit who gives life, we are saved by that life. if a person does not receive the good news that his sins are not held against him he won't be saved because he won't as for life. hebrew means one who has crossed over, the same with name changes, saul into paul and so on. baptism is the same thing, a public declaration that we have gone from adam to christ. we have had a name change because we have changed families. that is how we are in christ in whom there is no condemnation |

11 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57780
confession is saying the truth, repentance i changing you mind. asking forgiveness for something already forgiven is not having understanding. we are saved by His life, not by forgiveness of our sins when we ask for it. john three sixteen says it plainly "that they may have life" the gospel is veiled, hiddened by traditional teaching. why can't we get people saved? because we won't tell them that they are forgiven but need life. |

13 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57773
i am 65 years old and was saved in my thirties. i have looked for the gospel for thirty years unsaved and for thirty years after i was saved. finally when i studied 2 cor 5:19 i found it. the good news. then like a new car you bought, you see them everywhere, i saw the gospel everywhere in the scripture. |

14 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57772
no, i am saying that we should not be asking for forgiveness. if someone has paid your bill and you go to pay it, even insist on it, it shows a lack of faith that it is paid or pride in that you want to do it youself. praise and thanks should be our response to the fact that Jesus paid it all. |
||||||
15 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57762
that it needs to be forgiven. if someone pays your bill it is forgiven when the bill is stamped paid. jesus said on the cross, it is finished. the question to me is not condemnation for sin but condemnation because lost people are dead. (spiritually) you burn dead bodies outside the city. |

18 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | packer | 57760
first john 1:9 is one of the most quoted scriptures in the new testament. i believe it is because there is no other one to support it.

20 | Is the Law abolished or not? | Eph 2:15 | packer | 57749
they are not in conflict. it is in fulfilling his mission of fulfilling the law that it was abolished for those who are in Him. it is not abolished for those who are not in Him. it still condemns them. there is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Him.
