1 | WHAT WAS THE SIGN ABOVE JESUS' HEAD CALL | Bible general Archive 1 | outfora | 41563
Mathew...this is jesus, the king of the jews Mark.....the king of the jews Luke.....this is the king of the jews John.....jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews the above are all from king james. i apologise for my error in the inclusion of the word 'christ' in my answer. we must remember that the jewish authorites never accused him before pilate of being the messiah or for blasphemy. the concept of christ, or the messiah was a jewish religious concept and was not a matter for the roman authorities. their cause was to have him sentenced to death for blasphemy under mosaic law, law under which jews would have been allowed to put one to death, had they not been under roman occupation and jurisdiction. they could not accuse him of blasphemy before pilot as this would have undermined the roman authority by giving the law of moses (the torah) more credence than the law of rome. they thus accused him before pilot of being a king and placing himself above ceasar."we have no king but ceasar". on this charge was he sentenced to death, by pilot under duress and for the supposed crime of being a pretender to the throne of israel and a enemy of ceasar. The jewish council thus achieved its objective, a death sentence for jesus by subterfuge. so again, my apologies for the mistake in using "christ". outfora |

2 | Who is God? | John 20:28 | outfora | 18490
dear steve, you would agree, i am sure , that thomas, being with the risen jesus, was sure of whom this man was, as we, in faith, are sure, of whom this man is. now if he is god, that is a given. his name remains jesus, and it is in this name alone whereby all things are offered salvation unto eternity, and all things are judged. to call him other than jesus, or lord jesus, or jesus my god, or any variation of the name jesus, is surely not voicing who is our god. jesus himself, at the end of revelation says "i, jesus, have sent mine angel". and john says "amen, even so, come, lord jesus". salaam, outfora |

5 | The city that bears God's name? | 1 Kin 11:36 | outfora | 15361
thank you for commenting on my response. pardon my contradicting your notation. i would agree on islam being the antgonist, however, russia will be first to come to israels aid in the certain advent of the confrontation to come. ( perhaps as penance for their years of national atheism ) as for christians having no need to fear, i would suggest that they have as much need to fear as any man has to fear on this earth. christianity is the most divided body who proclaim to worship the true god. if christians truly believed as a body in the godhead there would be no need for denominational establishments. and i am sure that you would agree that god is not divided. shalom outfora |
