1 | Enoch and Elijah didn't see God yet? | John 3:13 | lana | 232494
Hi BradK, You cannot just take one scripture and speculate on it. You have to consider the surrounding text of that scripture and of course supporting scriptures as well in order to come to a logical explanation that makes sense. If you had carefully read my comment, you would have seen that it was backed by scriptures. So getting back to the original question, John 3:13 supports the fact that no man has ascended into heaven accept Jesus Christ who decended from heaven.(John 1: 1,2) |

2 | Enoch and Elijah didn't see God yet? | John 3:13 | lana | 232477
Enoch was transferred so as not to see death, which could mean that God put him in a prophetic trance and then terminated his life while he was in the trance so that he would not experience the pangs of death.(Heb 11:5) However, Enoch was not taken to heaven, in view of what Jesus said at John 3:13. So it appears that, as in the case of Moses' body God disposed of Enoch's body, for "he was nowhere to be found." (De 34:5,6) As for Elijah, he ascends in a windstorm to the heavens. Elijah does not die at this time, nor does he go into the invisible spirit realm, but he is transferred to another prophetic assignment. (John 3:13)
3 | Did Moses or Noah go to Hell? | OT general | lana | 232434
Hi BradK, My reply to the original question was a simple explanation of the meaning of the word "hell, which is the common grave where most of mankind sleep in death. In its original languages, the Bible uses the Hebrew word she'ohl and its Greek equivalent hai'des more than seventy times, and both words are related to death. Some translations render them as "grave," "hell," or "pit." For God told the first man Adam after he sinned that he would return to the ground from which he was taken,"For dust you are and to dust you will return."-(Genesis 3:19)This is exactly what happened. As for Job, he lived on to be a hundred and forty years, and he gradually died. (Job 42:16, 17) If you'll look at Acts 2:25-27, where David spoke concerning Jesus Christ,Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell neither will thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. So the fact that God did not leave Jesus in hell shows that Jesus was in hell or hades for at least a time does it not? sincerely, Lana |

First of all the word "hell" is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read "the grave" "the world of the dead," and so forth. So the Bible does say that even upright people go to hell also. For instance, at Job 14:13,Job prayed: who will grant me this, that thou mayst protect me in hell, and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a time when thou wilt remember me? God himself said that Job was "a man blameless and upright, fearing God and turning aside from bad,"-Job 1:8.
