2 | What does heaven look like? | 1 Cor 2:9 | karenc | 145190
Doc, I was touched that you would take such time to explain how you see heaven. When someome is terminally ill, or in a nursing home, they are an easy target for the enemy. It would be hard for even the most mature Christian to hold on to God's promises at such a desperate time. Often, they feel that God has deserted them. Sometimes it helps to describe the afterlife as literal as I can because they often doubt that it's real even if they know the Lord. When someone is in terrible pain, or they are left alone to die without family members, It's not always satisfying to them to say God loves you. I try to equate heaven to something wonderful that they can relate too, never leaving out the wonderful presence with the Lord. Just this Friday, I was ministering to a young girl who had double pacemakers and three heart surgeries, and was living on the street doing crack cocaine, but desperately needing the Lord. When I told her of Gods love and mercy, she did not relate, but when I told her that he could turn her life around and break the spirit of addiction off of her life and give her the desires of her heart, yu could see the hope in her eyes. People fear death. even those who love the Lord. Explaining heaven often helps.
3 | What does heaven look like? | 1 Cor 2:9 | karenc | 145182
mommapbs, Your question regarding how would I like to wear an asphalt necklace was inappropriate. I am trying to learn the bible from people who do not judge or add their off the wall commemts. I am not interested in jewelry. I asked the question regarding what heaven looked like because I witness to the sick and dying and I want to encourge them about eternity with our Lord, and I want to inform them of all the trimmings!!!

6 | Why God allows such tragedy | Bible general Archive 2 | karenc | 140979
When experiencing several personal tradgedy's of my own I asked God why and he answered me. If you understand the true meaning of free will, you will understand that he gave it to us and will not take it back or force us to change our decisions. He gave us free will in order to allow us to chose Him and his ways by our very own choice and not by force. Therefore, If someone chooses to rob a bank and kills the teller during that robbery, the family of the teller will grieve and suffer their great loss but if God interveined everytime people made unGodly choices then free will would no longer exist. Also, God will allow such tradgies for faith buiders, for purposes unknow to the mind of man and for other reasons. We must remember that our walk with the Lord should not be focused on the mishaps of this world but the Glory in the next one!!
