3 | free will or predestine ? | Bible general Archive 4 | joel_way | 217756
Azure, After using the search function I did not find an exact statement FOR free will. Many of the post created by the search are fragmented arguments that have no real structure or scripture. Maybe you can make some suggestions next time ... thank you |

4 | Matthew 5-7 questions | Matt 5:1 | joel_way | 177372
TThe question you've ask is multiple. And these chapters cover some of Christ most famous quotes ... the beattitudes ... the Lords prayer ... and many commands of Christ. Can you be more specific on exactly what your question is? There is a lot of doctrine in these 3 chapters. Please narrow it down for the forum readers. Thanks, Joel Way |

5 | God Question | Rom 10:17 | joel_way | 163193
Hi Jeff, Yes, our experiences must line up with the Word of God or they were not from God, they were meant to lead us astray. Moreover, our feelings and emotions often lend to our creating a god to fit our needs. This is the most basic form of idolatry. Unfortunately the world and some religions have fallen into this lie. Have you ever heard people say " to me God is ...." ? They make God out to be the God they want Him to be, based on their feeling and emotions. As far as experiencing God through experiences that are in-line with scripture.... isn't it great to know He is alive and well... and that His will will be done. in Christ Love , Joel Way |

7 | God Question | Rom 10:17 | joel_way | 163184
Hi Jeff I'd like to start by saying thank you for you input, and I'd like to make it clear that I do NOT dispute what you have said. I am a strong believer that faith is what God ask of us the most. Without faith, we have nothing. Before I get into scripture, let me tell you a small portion of my testimony so you may better understand where I am coming from. As a young teen, I began going to Church with some friends and began to know who Jesus was and what He had done for me. I recieved salvation at age 14, but after my high school years I quit going to Church and I did not include God in my life. I still believed, but I was just to pre-occupied with myself and I grew further and further away from God. As the years went by, I was very successful in life. It was almost like magic that whatever endevor I involved myself in I would come out on top. My world was all about me and what I could do. Well... I guess you can see where this is going... because I had exhaulted myself, The Lord, in His good time, humbled me. It was like one day someone tured off the light and nothing I did amounted to anything but shame. Within a couple of years I had lost everything; home, family, business, career, everything but my life. Now at the bottom, I finally looked up to God and asked for mercy. This was His great revelation to me. He showed me what I am without Him, and revealed His mighty power to bless or take away. Of course there is much more to my story, but I'll just say I have been a faithful follower ever since and I have grown in faith and knowledge for many years. Praise God for his faithfulness. Now I am a minister and a teacher of God's word. And when I see someone who is as lost as I was, I am reminded of what God did to me, and for me, so I try to encourage them to wait for God and He will show up. One more thing I'd like to clear up here; God's revelation to me was not something new. Every thing he did for me is already recorded in scriture. I never intended for anyone to think I was saying God would do something new, something outside of His Word. What He does is turn us back to His word. Everything the Lord has ever told me, even in that still small voice, can be found in scripture. Scriptures on revelation... the seed of faith Isaiah 65:1 I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me: I was found by those who did not seek me. this is found again in Romans 10:20 John 2:11 He thus revealed he glory, and His disciples put their faith in Him. Isaiah 43:12I have revealed and saved and procaimed. I and not some forien god. You are my witnesses that I am God. 1 samuel 3:7 Now Samuel had not yet known the Lord. 1 Samuel 3:21 and there He revealed Himself through His Word. 1 Corinthians 2:10 God has reveled it to us by His Spirit. Jeff you mentioned Acts 26... Paul was not a man of faith in Christ untill Jesus revealed Himself to Saul on the road to Damascus.Acts 26:13-16 And the 18th verse shows us an example of How God brings in those who come to God by revelation " so they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place amoung those who are santified by faith in me." there are many many more scriptures on the revelations of Christ after His ressurection, but I hope I have given enough for a basis on my statements. interested in your reply , Joel Way |

8 | what is this | NT general Archive 1 | joel_way | 163140
Am I in trouble or what? Maybe I'm not doing this correctly. I only ask one question... for which I do not have a verse... if I did I would have an answer. As for my answers and notes... they are on a tread that already has a verse reference. Can that be changed? I have included some in my notes but I never changed the original... is that what you mean?
9 | God Question | Rom 10:17 | joel_way | 163139
Hi Jeff, PLease understand one thing for me... I do not wish to argue my point with you. Some people know God by faith and some by revelation that causes faith to grow. It is still the same way now as it was then; the faithful have a hard time believing in the revelations given to the unfaithful. And even though I am a faithful believer now, by revelation, I wish I had been a faithful servant who believed and trusted God all along. It is my opinion that when he wrote " why doesn't He show himself to me" He too will be one who comes to God by revelation not by faith alone. I don't understand what you thought I was telling him to wait for. What I meant was more like "seek Him and you will find Him" Joel Way |

11 | God Question | Rom 10:17 | joel_way | 163130
Hi Jeff, Ironically, your reply to the original question makes more sense than all the others, and you quoted some great scriptures, and you were an encourager. So why would you lash out at some one else who tries to encourage. My expression of "bla bla bla" was mearly to show that the answer is quite simple. in Christ, Joel Way |

12 | God Question | Rom 10:17 | joel_way | 163129
Hello Jeff, Why do you assume this person is a non-Christian? He clearly stated that he believes who God is and has read the Word. He is looking for God to move in his life. And when God does this it is a great revelation (personally). and not some new way to find salvation. This person is searching in all the right places, so why would you quote scripture calling him "wicked"? We sould always encourage ( especially the lost) to seek God's revelation to them. When people are searching there are many wrong ansers they might find if Christians don't encourage and lead them to the one true answer that is Christ, Jesus. Let me encourage you to remember the fruit's of the Spirit which include gentelness and kindness. And in this Spirit we should welcome God's people who are searching for him and NOT put up a wall that says they need all the answers before they can enter. Welcome them, teach them, diciple them, so they can serve God too. in Love of Christ, Joel Way |

14 | Biblically correct divorce | Matt 19:9 | joel_way | 163121
The way I read this is that a man has been given reasons why he can divorce his wife, but not for a wife to divorce her husband.
