1 | A hypothetical question | Bible general Archive 1 | chynna | 47903
I thought it was a good question. If you remember, when Mary M was about to be stoned to death, the men turned to Jesus and asked what He would do in that situation. Jesus said the man without sin could throw the first stone. No one tossed a stone. In this case, he deferred the judgement to man. What's so different with the question I asked? Personally I was disappointed with the answers I received. I'm not sure what I wanted to see but the answers say a lot about the person doing the answering.
2 | Was the serpent satan or just a serpent? | Gen 3:1 | chynna | 44655
Let me ask you this. Obviously God created the serpent to be able to speak with humans. Eve doesn't seem to question the fact a serpent is speaking to her. And she doesn't seem to question the presence of the serpent in general being in the garden. And if satan possessed the serpent, then why would God punish the serpent for something it couldn't control? As for that, why even punish an animal that many believe has no awareness to anything remotely spiritual? Unless the serpent is as susceptable to satan as humans are? Which makes me question how much intercommunication goes on between God and the animals. Before man's fall, men and animals were both vegetarians, both lived in harmony with each other and neither were suspectible to death. Only after this incident with the serpent are both animal and man condemned to death. If animals were not guilty to some degree in this fall of man, then why condemn them to death? Too many questions. Not enough answers.
3 | Mission trips, questionable? | Phil 4:8 | chynna | 40297
Okay. Will God understand if I don't specifically help fund these missionary trips because of my doubt? Or should I just move to another church?
4 | animals and spirits? | Bible general Archive 1 | chynna | 39017
I think the main distinction between animals and man, is that God didn't give animals free choice in good verses evil. Jesus didn't die for animals to go to heaven. He died so that humans could gain access to heaven and God. Animals go there automatically. They are all good in my opinion. And if you read the Bible you find numerous passages to support this. This is why God accepted animal sacrifices. Animals are sinless. They don't have that capiblitity of doing wrong like we do. Thus, animals are not capable of having the 'holy spirit'. Only humans have access to that. But animals definitely have soul and spirit.
5 | God is a spirit? Animals have spirits? | Bible general Archive 1 | chynna | 39014
I don't disagree with that. My point was that God's original intention when He first created man and animal were that we were vegetarian. Yes, this changed. God allows us to eat meat now. Personally, I don't, but to each their own. I feel closer to God taking care of His creations rather than destroying them.
6 | Wife learning to control tongue......... | Bible general Archive 1 | chynna | 38684
Remember to approach an argument with the spouse in such a way you ARE going to stay married and wake up in each others arms in the morning. If things get too heated, both retreat with a piece of paper and write everything down. Sometimes people explain themselves better in writting than when yelling. And there should be no winner or loser. Since you are one, you should both win when it's over.
7 | Did God elect me? Or did I elect Him? | John 6:37 | chynna | 36123
Thanks. I wish I had known this instead of pouring out my life story. Can someone please erase my post?
