3 | Question about Tyre | Is 23:1 | Vannessa | 63545
Johnny, In Isaiah 23:15-18, it talks about Tyre being forgotten for 70 years the span of a King's life. Does the number 70 have another meaning, I know that the number 7 has some kind of meaning. Also is it talking about "King" as meaning a king on earth or a King like Jesus is the King or what? Just curious, thanks for your help. V |

4 | Question about Tyre | Is 23:1 | Vannessa | 63441
Johnny, Here is a response to your information: “Vanessa, that wasn't the question i asked. When you are talking about that prophecy you said it came true because "f) Never be rebuilt (26:14). " and you said it was never rebuilt. However, Isaiah (13-23) prophesied that it would be made desolate only for a period of 70 years. The question was why would an omniscient being tell one prophet that Tyre would be destroyed for 70 years and tell another prophet it would be destroyed forever and tell another prophet it would only be destroyed for 70 years? The prophecy that i asked you about that was only Ezekiel, for example, prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Egypt and leave it utterly desolate for a period of 40 years, during which no foot of man or beast would pass through it (chapter 20). However, history records no such desolation during or after the reign of Nebachadezzer. Also, the Tyre still exists today. Just wondering what are the man's credentials that wrote that book?” __________ Can you or anyone answer this poster's question? Thank you sooooo much for your help, it's much appreciated. Also I'm learning alot from your responses thanks so much! V |

5 | Question about Tyre | Is 23:1 | Vannessa | 63335
Johnny, Thank you so much for your response, it is greatly appreciated. So I understand that many prophets throughout the Bible predicted this destruction. Did any other religion or document predict this destruction? I'm not familiar with this scripture, was Tyre actually destroyed, if so when and do you know the given name of this area on today's maps? Now I'm very curious, LOL. Anyway thanks again for your help. Have a good week, V |

9 | Your best argument against evolution? | Genesis | Vannessa | 59769
Thanks Debbie, I do try to stand strong. I have been to the creation site and I present the facts as best I can from what I've read there. However the people I'm talking with do not accept anything I try to present factually. It is very frustrating to be called a liar, etc. I was hoping for some other strategy. Generally the responses are "prove it!" Now I know this is just a mind set on their part in that they will not accept anything I tell them no matter what. But I was hoping for some kind of new strategy in my approach and perhaps some new information I have not read before. In other words I was hoping to find out what others have used in their debates with evolutionists. Anyway thank you for your efforts, very appreciated. Take care and have a good Labor Day. V |

Ahh “Hank,” If you only knew the things Christians are called at MTV.com. Talk about your basic lion's den. These are usually atheists or science students who enjoy slaying Christians with words. It's not a pretty "site"! But I remain very strong in my faith. I am just, I can't think of the word---sorrowful maybe, about the impact these folks are having on unsuspecting minds at that particular site. I try very hard to combat these folks in a loving manner, even though my knowledge of the Bible, evolution, etc. are limited. Not to mention my debate skills leave a lot to be desired. If you want a real challenge try it one day, :-). I have to stop from time to time to just pray a bit. It can be very stressful, but I worry so much about the impression these atheists are presenting that in all good conscience I can't stay away from there for very long. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks so much for your response. I hope you are having a pleasant holiday weekend. V |

12 | Ack! Evolutionists- -Help?(whimper) | OT general | Vannessa | 57274
Welp I posted about the Creation Museum at MTV.com "fight for your rights" board, cause I was excited about the prospect and it received the usual scoffing response. They said it was a money making gimmick and that it would be like an amusement park. :-( (Sigh) Oh well I'm not giving up. Cuidate, V |

15 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | Vannessa | 57078
Steve that's such a good question, sorry to be so late responding. I think they only want to place some kind of physical value with the idea of Jesus. Perhaps as they judge their own appearance so critically, they want to be able to judge Jesus' as well. Plus they may want to place Jesus with some kind ethnic features so they can stereotype Him. Teens tend to place everyone into a specific category of box, if you will. It makes it easier to judge them that way. I suppose as others have suggested that is why Jesus was somewhat nondescript except for being Jewish. Thank you for the question, very interesting, V |

16 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | Vannessa | 57076
It is possible that the person asking the question is of a minority, but I never assume as such when responding to questions at MTV.com. I generally answer in a manner that does not assume any ethnicity or race because it is the more honest way to answer. I don’t' know that the person posting was as concerned about Jesus' ethnic background, as they were some kind of physical reference to Jesus. I agree I don't care about his looks just that he was willing to suffer and die for the sins of mankind. Have a great week, V |

MrsBinGA, Ahh those words are food for my soul thank you so much. I can't tell you the backlash I get sometimes for presenting other ideas or even other theories besides evolution for example. This morning was especially trying on the MTV board. I don’t' think that I am very convincing and really I don't know that I want to be, I just want to present other options and as you say "God gives the increase.” I did answer that question on the MTV board, just as you and others have described. The folks here have been a great help and I'm very appreciative of all the responses. Thank you so much for those encouraging words. It was a true blessing to hear this morning. All the best to you, Cuidate, V |

19 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | Vannessa | 56972
Ok now you're scaring me, LOL. Are you suggesting I may be sinning or something for defending the word of God, for presenting alternatives to the atheists, for presenting the truth that exists in my heart? I usually do not back away from any flogging of the word of God. My gut feeling is that these youth/adults are seeking the truth or at least alternative theories regarding the Bible. There are those who only want to spit on even the idea of God and I generally do not respond to those. But if there is a legitimate question, no matter how bazaar it may seem, I will at least make an effort to respond. Currently I am reading, "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel". I want to continue with "The Case for Christ." Right now as I present quotes from this book, the questions are coming fast and furious wanting to know more or perhaps challenging the findings of this journalist. Never the less I think it's a worthy effort to at least try and present alternatives. Thank you again for the advice. Cuidate, V |

retxar, I appreciate your advice. I do not regard these teens or adults as "the enemy" but as young people trying to find answers anonymously. I don't know if you've ever spent much time at the MTV boards but many times they fall just short of Sodom and Gomorrah, LOL. I do not feel pressured to give answers but I do feel a sorrow or sickness inside that so many folks may be falling for the traps you speak of and may not realize there are some other more valid and true answers to their many questions. Most of the MTV boards are dominated by Atheists, Darwinists, Satanist and Evolutionist who take pleasure in recruiting young minds or anyone they can possibly influence as a popular way of thinking. I do feel a bit of an obligation to at least present some viable alternative answers other than, "The Bible is a fairytale, God does not exist and the vivid details of Jesus' homosexual tendencies." It could very easily be deemed one of the greatest challenges a Christian can accept. At any rate, I just think there is a need for Christian representation on that particular board that does not judge, does not condemn, but just gives valid and direct information. At least they will have a few options other than constant atheistic representation and recruitment. I believe Jesus went where healing was needed, yes? So perhaps I can follow that example of Jesus as well. Thank you for taking the time and for the great advice, I will definitely remember your words. Cuidate, V |
