I would, add as a scripture that shows the day of week not being important, this: Acts 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Praise the Lord! Norm |

3 | Superior Hope | Heb 11:40 | TheFinalSQL | 127456
Ancient, I can feel what you are going through (I believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, but I do not believe in the trinity doctrine.) even though I do believe church, for me personally, church attendance is required. Not for attendance sake, but rather to hear the word. I do my best to let the scripture speak for itself. In this day and age one would hard pressed to hear the word anywhere except church and even then you will be blessed to actually hear the word. Here are some scriptures that present the need for an overseer, a shepard, one to guide you. Church is the best place to find them, a local assembly. Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Ezekiel 3:17-21 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 8:30-31 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. cometh - a continual process Ephesians 4:11-16 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Church, local assemblies, is simply the best place in these days to find this guidance. Praise the Lord! Norm |

4 | Who did the devil murder? | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheFinalSQL | 127426
The father of lies: Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Murderer from the beginning: Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. I would have to conclude the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was created before the devil sinned. God created evil. He created everything. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Without evil there would not be the freedom of choice, we would have been robots: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 5 | The Real stature of Satan | Is 14:16 | TheFinalSQL | 127015
14:12–14 fallen from heaven … be like the Most High. Jesus’ use of v. 12 to describe Satan’s fall (Luke 10:18; cf. Rev. 12:8–10) has led many to see more than a reference to the king of Babylon. Just as the Lord addressed Satan in His words to the serpent (Gen. 3:14,15), this inspired dirge speaks to the king of Babylon and to the devil who energized him. See Ezek. 28:12–17 for similar language to the king of Tyre and Satan behind him. 14:12 heaven. The scene suddenly shifts from the underworld to heaven to emphasize the unbridled pride of the king and Satan energizing him. Lucifer, son of the morning. Lit. “Lucifer” means “shining one,” but translators have often rendered it “morning star.” Tradition of the time saw the stars as representing gods battling among themselves for places of preeminence. 6 | Lucifer kicked out of heaven | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 127002
I am mindful of your feelings. Here is a scripture to take into account in regard to Satan's fall from heaven. NASB: Luke 10:18 And He said to them, I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. KJV: Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Reading Revelation 12 it does make it difficult to determine what happened when. Reading Matthew 4 Jesus being led to the wilderness to be tempted... I think I just found the answer. I see what you are saying of Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. I think they serve a dual purpose. Luke 10:18 is past tense. Jesus seen Satan fall from heaven. Now lets look at Isaiah 14:12 Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Notice fallen is past tense. Just as Luke 10:18 Ezekiel 28:16 however is future tense Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. I will cast out, future tense. Fall from heaven, past tense. I would have to conclude falling from heaven and being cast out from heaven as being two different events. Satan's fall from heaven has aleady happened, but Satan has not yet been cast out from heaven. Praise the Lord! Norm |

7 | Things people THINK in the BIBLE but not | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 126706
You understand it correctly. Yes, Jesus definately had the opportunity to sin, but a sin nature is not required to have the ability to sin. Adam and Eve did not have a sin nature yet they did sin. Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise the Lord! Norm |

So was he also formed in iniquity? Please advise on this." You hit the nail on the head. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Sin entered into the world through Adam, not Eve. Jesus was not formed in iniquity, not only did Jesus not sin, there was no sin nature in him: 1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. There was no sin in Jesus because his father was not a man, but the Holy Ghost: Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. This is how the blood of Jesus can be substituted for our blood to wash away our sins. Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. If Jesus's blood was not shed it would have had no power to take away our sins: Hebrews 9:15-17 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. "this is just my view, there should only be 1 church, with 1 standard, with 1 purpose based on that rock (Peter)" That rock is not Peter. That rock is Jesus Christ. Matt 16:18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. rock in this verse comes from the Greek petra Eph 4:15, 16 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. 15 | Is a woman to "obey" her husband? | Eph 5:22 | TheFinalSQL | 125347
Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Ephesians 5:21-33 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. Colossians 3:18-19 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 1 Peter 3:1-7 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. |

16 | Who says the Sabbath is on Sunday | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 124194
There is no verse in the Bible that says you are to worship God on the Sabbath or any other day. There is no set schedule to do anything in the Bible. I've posted this in this thread, but I will post it again: Galatians 4:8-11 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. We think since we are told that Jesus rose on the first day of the week he rose on a Sunday. Can you look up in the sky(Genesis 1:14) and tell what day Sunday is? I can not, but I can count 14 days from the new moon after the vernal equinox(Exodus 12:2) and know Jesus died on the 14th day of the same month(Exodus 12:6) and that he rose 3 days and 3 nights after this.(Matthew 12:40) Here is an example of how we are to do things now: 1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. We are not to take communion weekly, monthly, or annually. We are to take it as often as we would. There is no set schedule. Regarding the sabbath here is how we now rest, seeing that Jesus fulfilled, not abolished, but completed the law: Hebrews 4:1-10 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Praise the Lord! Norm |
