1 | Did God create evil? | Is 45:7 | SavedbyGrace7 | 88815
Before creation there was NOTHING. After creation there was GOOD and EVIL. We know that GOD created everything. To say that God didn’t create evil is to say that He didn’t create good as well because both are not things; they’re both intangible, yet, they do exist like the air we breathe. Who or what tempted Lucifer to sin? What motivated him to become like God?... It obviously wasn’t God because He doesn’t tempt anyone (Jam 1:13). Something had to tempt Lucifer to fall? |

Reading the bible I just found this... What do you think? I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Is.45:7 |

I based my belief that God can create whatever He wants (Isa 44:24; 45:7 KJV; 66:1,2) because He has created everything. Now, if I was wrong, I believed that God allowed it to EITHER be created OR to exist. Author Myer Pearlman in his book: Knowing The Doctrines of the Bible, p67, says: “God being almighty, evil exists by his permission. We cannot, in every instance, understand why He permits evil, for ‘His ways are past finding out.’” I believe the author is referring to the mysteries or secret things of God (Deu 29:29). He continues with “Scriptures do not describe the origin of demons; that question seems to be part of the mystery surrounding the origin of evil.” (Pearlmen, p. 91) |

I understand that evil is not a “thing.” It’s not tangible, but it exists in the actions of those, such as Satan, who are anti-good. Now if Lucifer was initially good, but eventually turned evil, and God created Lucifer, did God create evil, which in this case, was the actions of Lucifer? Okay, if that’s the case, and God didn’t create evil, would it be wrong to say that God is ultimately responsible for evil’s existence because HE not only created Lucifer, who sinned, but even gave us a tool called freewill to make a choice between good and evil. I believe if God didn’t create evil, or allowed it to exist in whatever way, there could be no possible distinction between evil and what is good. How can God be say, when He created the heavens and the earth, “it was good,” if there is no evil to contrast the difference? |

I see your point but, if God did not create evil then who did. I know that God permits for things to happend. I know that sin is in an act of desobedience which happened as a result of EVIL. God is the Alpha and the Omega? Nothing existed prior to God's creation of EVERYTHING including ANGELS (AND THE DEVIL)...so then, that leads me to the conclusion that GOD CREATED EVIL. |

Yes, he did create it. The reason why I am asking if God created evil is because a co-worker asked me, How can a God who is loving and merciful create evil. If he is light then how can darkness come out of him.

But how could God create something that is not found in him. I know He can do anything but it just sounds weird to say that God created evil. I don't know. To me creation reflects its creator. If I create something its gonna reflect my intellegence or wisdom or even my stupidity. When God created enerything was perfect. God finished creating on the seventh day. SO in that span of 6 days you're saying God created evil... |
