1 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63393
Emmaus... thanks for the information about your personal beliefs and some of your "resources". You sound like a very interesting person to me and one I enjoying talking with. You wear your faith well. I am a Free Will Baptist (Arminian vs. Calvin) and frankly know very little about the Catholic faith. I love the Lord and want to serve Him and I sense the same spirit in you. Thanks for being so generous with your time. Blessings - Parousia |

2 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63294
Emmaus... thanks for the further clarification. I like your style. I do not own the NAB or the Jerusalem Bible and they don't seem to be very popular in Bible software. Do you personally believe the Apocrypha is part of the canon of Scripture? Do you use any commentaries? If so, which are a few of your favorites? Presently, I am enjoying the New Living Translation as a good dynamic equivalent commentary Bible. Blessings - Parousia
3 | Is smoking a sin? | 2 Pet 2:19 | Parousia | 63274
Lee-Roy... just thinking about you and wondering if you have had success in giving up smoking?
4 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63272
Emmaus... thanks... an excellent reference. One more thing... what translation are you using? - Parousia
5 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63270
Emmaus... as I studied through your message further I am wondering if the reference to Matthew 1:16-17 is correct. You list it in the final sentence of the first paragraph of your response. I am having trouble making the connection with that verse. Thanks - Parousia
6 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63269
Emmaus... I find your response very thoughtful and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to prepare an excellent study aid to this perplexing verse. Blessings! - Parousia
7 | Hardened Hearts??? | Mark 6:52 | Parousia | 63259
Thanks BobD for stating the obvious. The question is why? Why were they in this condition of mind and spirit?
8 | Is "Revival" A Biblical Concept? | Ps 85:6 | Parousia | 56069
Excellent points Scribe... I believe that in a practical sense, the book of Acts is still being written. I.e. the church age. If we could just get with the program. Thanks for your thoughts. Parousia |

9 | Pre-Wrath Rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | Parousia | 56067
justme: Well friend, as usual, you are right again. No agrument from me although I have found the Pre-Wrath position lines up with the Scripture the way I read it. Sure doesn't make me right but for sure I am sincere about studying the matter. As you noted, Americans really don't know anything about "tribulation" (YET)... I have traveled to many countries that know lots about the subject. I have met Christians brothers and sisters in those places that put me to shame with their faith and acceptance of the "state they are in". I have learned from them... yes, a great deal. I like your outlook brother. Parousia |

10 | Revival? | Romans | Parousia | 56065
justme: I sing all parts equally well... if you get my drift. I love expositional teaching/preaching. I gain so much more from that than I seem to get from topical (there are exceptions of course). Free Will Baptist is my church affiliation, in Joplin, MO. We are neighbors, sort of. Frankly, it was a charismatic teacher who got me headed down the "study to show yourself approved" road. I love the Word of God and what it does to you when we surrender to it, apply it, believe it above all else. Do you have a translation preference? If stranded on an island I would ask for three... ESV, NLT and Amplified. Hope I don't scare you but I also love to read The Message by Eugene Peterson. Very dynamic!!! Choir is dismissed for now. Parousia |

11 | Pre-Wrath Rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | Parousia | 56048
justme: I read your note to kalos just before receving the one to me. You are right on. I do believe that there is a great danger in people believing that they will not go through any tribulation (before the Wrath of God) since they might be less likely to persevere. Pre-Wrath certainly fits the Arminian view of things! Thanks for the welcome. Parousia |

12 | Pre-Wrath Rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | Parousia | 56045
New Creature: Great points. I agree with each of them. I am discovering many people who "have always been Pre-Trib" but can't explain why. Frankly, I studied the Pre-Wrath position when Rosenthal's book first came out and felt compelled to pursue it's premise. The more I studied the truer it rang to me. I am still not very good at defending the Pre-Wrath position when dealing with a well studied Pre-Triber but I continue to sense the correctness of Pre-Wrath. Yes there is a big difference between tribulation and wrath... especially the Wrath of God! Blessings. Parousia |

13 | What is meant by walk by faith? | 2 Cor 5:7 | Parousia | 56039
For we know that if this earthly house of ours, that tent which is the body is pulled down, we have a building which comes from God, a house not made with hands, eternal and in the heavens. For indeed so long as we are as we are we earnestly long to put on our abode which is from heaven, and if indeed we have put it on we shall not be found naked. For, while we are in this tent of the body, we groan, for life weighs us down, for it is not so much that we desire to be stripped of this house, but rather that we desire to put on our heavenly body over it, so that that which is subject to death may be swallowed up by life. He who has designed us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a first instalment of the life to come. So then we are always in good heart, although we know that, while we sojourn here in the body, we are absent from the Lord--for it is by faith we walk and not by sight--but we are in good heart and we are willing rather to depart from the body and to stay with the Lord. So then it is our one ambition, whether we are present with him or absent from him, to be the kind of people in which he can find pleasure. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one of us may receive the consequences of the thing we did while we were in the body, consequences which will correspond to what each one of us has done, be it good or bad. —Barclay's Daily Study Bible
14 | Revival? | Romans | Parousia | 56030
justme: Frankly, I couldn't agree more. I raised the question because I have a good friend who is preaching on "Revival" and he has asked my opinion about an issue or two. I found that I feel like the church is applying the wrong word to an event, as valuable as it is, which is patterned to accomplish something else (generally evangelism). So far, you and I are the "choir". Thanks for sharing. Parousia |

16 | Pre-Wrath Rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | Parousia | 56022
Thank you kalos for a kind response. I may have spoken in a more pointed way than I intended to convey. I could have written your response as my own for the most part. Pre-Trib all my life without knowing why. When I looked into it... it just didn't fit. I have read THE SIGN and am glad you are going to do so. Rosenthal's book THE PREWRATH RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH is not as deep as THE SIGN but it is a very good read. Maybe others will be interested in joining us in some dialogue.
17 | Is "Revival" A Biblical Concept? | Ps 85:6 | Parousia | 56019
I put "Revival" in quotes to indicate the noun aspect of the modern revival meeting. Your verses are nice but use the word as a verb or adjective. I am looking for a biblical concept of revival meeting or gathering.

You must have a very painful experience with the word "support"... chill out. All of the web pages you listed are part of The Sign Ministries. If THE RAPTURE QUESTION ANSWERED is the only Pre-Wrath book you have read... you better read on. |
