3 | Trinity | John 1:1 | Noveta | 160746
You are absolutely right. The correct statement would be "You have to accept the Bible for what it says". This is a great scripture "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil...." |

4 | Trinity | John 1:1 | Noveta | 160734
This is the intepretation that I understand also. There is one God in three persons. "God the father", "God the Son" , "God the Holy Spirit". Co-eternal and Co-Equal and distinct (three individuals) There are scriptures that show the Farther is GOD Matt. 16:16,17; John 6:27,44,45; 20:17; Rom. 1:7; 1 Cor. 1:3; 2 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 1:3; etc. There are scriptures that show the Son is God John 1:1,14; 20:28,29; Phil. 2:6-8; Heb. 1:8,9; Col. 2:9; Isa. 9:6. There are scriptures that show the Holy Spirit is God Acts 5:3,4; Eph. 4:30; 1 Thess. 4:8. Here are scriptures that show they are distinct Hebrews 1:5 , 2 Corinthians 1:3 You almost have to accept the Bible for what it says. There are many things to me that are not explained clear and sometimes hard to interpret. But this topic is repeatly revealed and I think one of the most important. Understanding and excepting , not leaning on your understanding but accept what the Bible is saying. God the Farther can talk to God the Son because they are distinct individuals but yet they are equal because they are one. Same is for God the Holy Spirit, John 14:16,26; 15:26; 16:7,13-15. I hoped I have helped and not hurt. This is the first time I have attempted to repond to a question rather than asking a question. Hopefully I have given you the right scriptures in the right place. But I felt that I needed to express what has been taught to me. |

7 | Jesus called Good teacher | Mark 10:18 | Noveta | 131097
Thank you very much for your translation. I understand and agree with Philippians 2:5-8. This scripture is very important because it explains what some people think are contradictions in other parts of the bible. You have explained this very well.. These are the types of scriptures I must learn to read in context and in harmony with the entire bible. You are right.. people tend to take statements like this to prove their points. Thanks Again. |

8 | Jehovah is the only true God | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130902
Thank you so much. This web site is a blessing. I like your statement: There are many things that are called 'gods' by people, but they are not by nature 'gods'. Jehovah Himself says that there is only one God! Now that it is established that Jehovah is the only true God and there are other (false) gods.. then what does that make Jesus.. He is not "a god", that would of course make him a false god. We know that is not true. Our Savior is not a false god. Jesus paid for our sins. He is perfect in every way. Not false.. He is the truth and the light.. He is GOD in the Flesh..who for a little while lower than the angels and took the nature of man so that he could fulfill the prophecy!!! John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Your Sister in Christ, Noveta |

9 | One God, One Jesus Christ | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130249
With due respect Tara, I am a new christian. I get enough of this in my home. I am so happy to find a christian web site. I have your Watch Towers.. I have studied with you for years. Even though I am new I understand that your bible is different from mine. Out of your bible comes a different Christ. I believe in the Christ.. that is not Michael the Angel.. Read Hebrews chapter one 1. This is what I have learned.. I agree with the other posts.. Please find a JW study forum. I leave you with this wonderful scripture. It helped me to understand Jesus's position as both man and god. It was also stated in another post. Phil. 2:5-8, "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." GOD BLESS.. |
