1 | I want to know about Dinosaurs and Noah | Job 3:8 | Norrie | 139428
Adam and Eve were created perfect, they were designed to live forever. Then they sinned and were destined to die. Their bodies were so wellmade tho, it took approx 900 yrs to die of natural causes back then. Since their bodies were perfect and their offsprings were gradually deteriorating, also since there was no one else, brother and sister had to marry. It didn't become a sin or forbidden to have sex w/your sibling until around Moses time. It took that long for our bodies to corrupt to that point. As human race went on, bodies corrupted more and more until we are where we are now...

It's possible to be on several forums, I do it all the time. You discuss different things on different forums. I was just thinking those that want to discuss politics can go there since I have seen the question asked, that's all. Right now I have several windows open, here, there and another. :) |

Well, I just took the time to write a whole long dissertation and when I went to post, I got the you used a symbol that won't take note, go back and nat the whole thing was gone-sorry!!! I really hate that you can't use certain symbols, if it's on a keyboard, it should be able to be used!!! There are many times that urls can't be listed because of that. It's wrong! I've griped about that all along. So, no profile, it went into cyberspace...

From what commentaries I've read, we can't judge whether someone will go to Heaven or Hell but we sure can have a good idea by their fruit. We make judgments all the time, we are supposed to judge, how else will we know right from wrong? Here's your condoning sin verses in case someone other than you don't get it... Romans 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[3] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[4] unmerciful; 32who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. James 4:17 tells us, "anyone then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." |

8 | Can a Christian be a Democrat? | 1 Cor 1:10 | Norrie | 134012
I believe what he's getting at is that Democrats are for abortion, gay marriage, things that are definately against God's Word. I would say that no saved Christian would have any part of any party that goes against what the Bible teaches.

My mil said she thinks the reason Pensacola was hit so hard is that there is a gay church and a gay beach. That's not saying that all are gay...after all, her family is there, that's where she grew up. But it rains on the just and the unjust and God does make good out of bad for those that love Him so...

A friend's response to article... Amen... We are sadly lacking in real Pastors (tenders of God's Flock) these days and the resulting in church buildings (Cribs) full of Babies in Christ, forever on milk and pablum, never growing up to maturity by eating meat... They are more like 'sleep therapists' than teachers of God's Word, who should be teaching their respective 'flocks' they have a duty and responsibility in society to MAKE A DIFFERENCE, STAND UP FOR RIGHT, TEAR DOWN EVIL, TRAMPLE UNDERFOOT EVIL DEMONIC SPIRITS... If Christians don't ______ who will? Freedom is not free and that mostly applies to our freedom to be a Christian... This country was founded on Christians who demanded freedom to worship God as they wished... We have 'example after example' in God's Holy Word of men, women and Christians who dared to make a difference in the most inconvienent of times... We can thank THEM for our freedom to have God's Word today... Are we 'salty' enough?! If not, we're no good for seasoning, no good for anything actually... 'Saltless' tasteing salt is just thrown away... Are we afraid to SPEAK UP, STAND OUT, MAKE A STATEMENT for our LORD? There ARE NO GIANTS out there!!! We fear itty bitty grasshoppers, locusts who will eat you out of house and home if allowed to multiply and invade... God's Word is like RAID is to roaches... Even a little can go a long way... Don't Christians KNOW that the 'powers that be' would like to nulify and outlaw our GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO VOTE? Are we going to just give up that RIGHT by default without a FIGHT? margie |

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/douggiles/dg20040911.shtml Energizing Evangeli-fish to Vote Doug Giles September 11, 2004 Four million evangelicals didn’t vote in the 2000 presidential election. Great ... way to go Church! Onward Christian soldiers [or should it be backward?]. It’s a scary thought: we almost had Al Gore playing Frankenstein around the White House because a few million folks who should have known better refused to get up from the couch on which they were playing potato, go to the polls and vote. Why the vacuum at the voting booth in 2000, people of God? Were you stunned into placidity the Sunday before the last election because of a tedious three point sermon, delivered by a coma-inducing pastor, who left you bereft of hope? Then, reeling from such freshly mainlined pessimism, in your depressed state, you pampered yourself with the Lumberjack Slam at Denny’s which immobilized you with violent flatulence and more material stuff, all the way through election Tuesday. Or, Christian, was your refusal to register and vote based on the no-duh deduction that politics is dirty business and since it is such a DB you shouldn’t be involved in it. News flash! Within the church’s stained glass walls, there are Machiavellian battles, ecclesiastical squabbles and denominational sniping that make Republicans and Democrats look like the Brady Bunch, and Bush and Kerry seem like Paris and Nicole. Sadly, church can be a very dirty business, sometimes even more political than politics … but you still go to church, don’t you? Or have you abandoned God’s house, as well? Or, is it that you will not vote for a President unless he is Mr. Perfect according to your pristine, subjective view? If so, I suggest you do a doe-si-doe out of la-la-land and into reality. Hey! It’s the president we’re electing, not an unblemished savior to make atonement for the world’s sins. That was Christ’s job, and he’s already finished it and hopefully enjoying his retirement. When you’re vacillating in the valley of decision wondering whether or not you are going to vote, remember: we’re electing a president not a messiah. |

Obedience to authority demands good citizenship. The Apostle Paul in Romans chapter 13 clearly states that we must obey governmental leaders because all authority comes from God. Here’s the catch: in America, the people are the leaders! Here, at least, we express our obedience to God by exercising our rights and privileges as citizens. That means voting. Good citizenship sets an example for generations to come. Those who apply God’s principles to government pave the way for generations of blessing. In 1768 a Christian minister named John Witherspoon became president of the College of New Jersey, now Princeton. While there he taught biblical principles of government to his students. Of the 478 young men who were graduated during his tenure, writes author John Eidsmoe, "114 became ministers; 13 were state governors; 3 were U. S. Supreme Court judges; 20 were U.S. Senators; 33 were U. S. Congressmen; Aaron Burr, Jr. became Vice-President; and James Madison became President." As a Christian, Witherspoon exerted an enormous influence on the direction of American government. You and I may not have the gifts of John Witherspoon, but we can still make a big difference if we put our minds to it. Pass this on to friends and family, and encourage them to vote in the every election! Author: Jeffrey L. Myers, Ph.D. From his book Vital Truth: Christian Citizenship (February 2003). WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN CITIZEN There are at least five good reasons why Christians should vote: God has granted us authority. All authority belongs to God, but He has put human beings on the earth as caretakers. What is our task? According to Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20, we are to go out and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey God in every area of life. This includes politics. We must disciple people to make godly decisions about government, and promote the efforts of those who are already doing so. We need to stand against evil. St. Augustine said those who are citizens of God’s kingdom are best equipped to be citizens of the kingdom of man. The alternative is unthinkable. In the 20th Century, atheistic and secular humanistic leaders gained control of nations all across Europe, Asia and Africa. What was the result? According to historian R. J. Rummel, almost 170 million men, women and children have been brutally murdered by these governments, all in the name of human progress. These facts led historian John Hallowell to note, "Only through a return to faith in God, as God revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ, can modern man and his society find redemption from the tyranny of evil." Christian values contribute positively to society. The Bible’s solutions make sense. It is Christian involvement in government through the ages that gave us hospitals, civil liberties, abolition of slavery, modern science, the elevation of women, regard for human life, great works of art and literature, a workable system of justice, education for common people, the free-enterprise system, and much, much more. When we see the good that results from applying God’s principles, and the horror that results from rejecting them, doesn't it seem cruel and irresponsible to keep Jesus’ teachings about truth, love and compassion to ourselves? At very least, we should vote to keep OUT of office those who attempt to oppose God's authority. |

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/voting.html Do Christians Have an Obligation to Vote? I once heard of a church where members thought it was against God’s will to vote. Concerned that a corrupt politician would win a local election, church members gathered for an all-night prayer vigil. In the morning, however, they refused to vote and the good candidate lost--by fewer than the number of votes represented by those at the prayer meeting. It seems tragic, but maybe those church members did the right thing. After all, isn't politics a dirty business? Christians are citizens of heaven, not of earth...right? Every Christian must grapple with this question and come up with a defensible answer. THE HIGH COST OF INDIFFERENCE I teach political communication at a Christian college. Once several years ago students in my class complained endlessly about seedy politicians. Yet the day after the election, I discovered that only two of them had voted, and most weren't even REGISTERED to vote! I told them, "For the rest of the semester, if you didn't vote, you have lost your right to complain in this class." Years later they still remember the lesson. |

I worry that they are all trying to scam us. The Bush Betrayal http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin196.htm by Pastor Chuck Baldwin Maybe that's how the end happens...maybe we should all vote for Petroutka even if he doesn't stand a chance because he really does promote Godly values. At least when the scales are balanced, and they will be on reard day even if we won't get judgment day, we can have them tip in our favor by voting the Godly man regardless... |
