1 | Hello!Martin Luther KING???Really?? | Bible general Archive 1 | Justin White | 14369
I thank Him always. My religion was women, alcohol and drugs. I gave my life in my friend’s sister’s room and was prayed for by a Christian I had known for a week. God graciously baptized me with His Spirit and my life was transformed so radically my atheist friends believed in God. You have no idea how thankful I am, I was utterly lost. Now I preach a righteous, which is by faith from first to last, that is why I am so adamantly against baptism and the like as part of salvation. May the Author and Finisher of our faith lavish you with all wisdom and knowledge that you may know more clearly the mystery of God, which is Christ. Your brother in the Faith Justin |

Dear Joe Thanks for the clarity. I have honestly had my wires mixed on that topic. I am a relatively new convert and although some of my historical details may be imprecise (I really only have an interest in the Bible ... in the two years I have been saved I have read the Bible ad nauseum but have never read any other Christian book (whether fiction or non-fiction)) I do know, without doubt and without hesitation, that salvation comes from faith alone … it is sad that this, as the focus of my answer, was lost amid a nitpick of unimportant historical details (This purely my fault as I should never have included any historical details … the Word is enough) Jeremiah 23:28-30 "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? May the truth be revealed, may Jesus be glorified. Your brother in Christ Justin |

Hello, Justin I hope I do not seem confrontational. I am very passionate about the foundation of Christianity. Martin Luther King after receiving the revelation that the righteous will live by faith removed the book of James (because he thought it conflicted with salvation through faith). Later, when he understood James, he had it re-inserted. Faith without works is dead … this simply means that if you have a genuine faith in God you will act in a certain way. Romans 10:9-11 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. John 5:4-6 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God John 3:15-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Romans 3:27-29 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. Romans 4:1-3 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God. Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 10:9-11 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Galatians 2:15-17 know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. The following scripture is one of the reasons I am so zealous about this topic. Galatians 5:3-5 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. Ephesians 2:7-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— So do these scriptures conflict with scriptures from James such as: James 2:23-25 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. No, the answer is this … genuine faith leads to works … salvation is NOT by works … Galatians 3:1-3 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Yours in Christ Justin |

Hello The righteous will live by faith. You are confusing salvation and our walk with the Lord. Salvation is by faith. We cannot do anything to gain salvation except believe. Believe; stop relying on anything apart from Christ for salvation … did He not do enough? Be baptized as part of your walk with the Lord, this symbolizes what happens at the rebirth, it is not part of the rebirth. You are trapped in legalism. A man who gives his life on his deathbed, a man who gives his life in a desert region, a man who gives his life to Jesus and then dies in an accident on the way to being baptized … these people not saved? Matthew 23:12-14 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” I pray that God reveals the truth to you. I fear that you are teaching this to others and keeping them from salvation. Boast in nothing but the cross of Jesus. Yours in Christ, Justin |

5 | But isn't that a contradiction | Gal 2:17 | Justin White | 13735
Hello, Bob, An interesting way of looking at predestination is to view God's will and His plan as separate. Simply put, His will is that we don't sin; he knew beforehand that we would. Knowing us intimately He was fully aware of what our every detailed deviation from His will would be. He then used this knowledge to work all things together … this working together He predestined. Therefore He planned all things without taking away our choice. Like you, I am always open to the viewpoints of others as long as they do not conflict with the foundation of Christ the Messiah. I pray that the Spirit gives you the revelation you desire. Your brother in the faith Justin |
