1 | God's commandment not to worship idols. | Deut 5:8 | Hugger | 35466
Hello Johnny, I was surprised to read your response to my note to Chynna. I have not made nor have I said that is was ok to worship a graven image of any kind Johnny and I do not kneel to any of my jewelry or the cross that is in our santuary at church. I think you need to read my previous post again. I hope that clears up any misunderstandings. PLEASE RE-READ MY PREVIOUS POST AGAIN. Blessings brother. Hugger |

2 | The Ministry of the "Walking Wounded" | 1 Tim 4:6 | Hugger | 35183
Makarios, I spelled your name wrong....sorry! (: I hope those webites can help you. It is a very common thing to happen in the ministry. Even Pastors are human and have need of healing. As with the shepherds of the OT like Moses, David, etc., they all received wounds from their flock. It is very sad but at the same time God will use these situations to bring about something good. So, look for the good things in times of trials. I thank the Lord for making you a part of His body here on this forum. Lord bless and keep you! Hugger |

3 | do you have to go to church | Bible general Archive 1 | Hugger | 31954
Dear openhart2god, I would be praying for your husband to be more balanced. You are right about being involved with a local church would give you better opportunities to serve others in a more personal atmosphere. Fellowshipping with other believers (in person, not through t.v.) is part of a balanced, spirit filled life. Even though your husband doesn't want you to go to a local church....you may still be able to serve in one of their outreach ministries or something like that to fulfill your need to serve and help others. Ask the Lord for those opportunities and He will open doors for you. Continue to pray for your husbands spiritual life too. It sounds like he is unbalanced in his view of the purpose of the local church and the function it plays in a believers life. The church is more than just a place to go and be ministered to, like you have said you can help others through a local church. The Bible says in Heb. 10:25 'Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another...and all the more as you see the Day approaching.' As I have said in my previous post that God looks on the heart. There are circumstances that would prevent some from attending a local church but it doesn't sound like your husband is in that category. He is the one who is choosing to not attend a local church. Keep praying and don't give up! Maybe it would be better if one of the brothers on this forum would respond to your question. Someone who might be able to discern where your husband is coming from. It is my experience that the Lord will not hold you accountable for your husband's leading in the family and therefore you need not worry about the hard battles....we all have some and you will not have more because of what your husband is doing or not doing. I believe that those thoughts are from the accuser (Satan). He is always accusing God of being hard or unfair or whatever...don't give in to those thoughts...cast them out in the name of Jesus. I pray the Lord will minister to you and your family and open your husband's eyes to the truth. In His Love, Hugger |

5 | How important is your Church? | Bible general Archive 1 | Hugger | 29251
Hello again Brian. I'll try and answer your questions as best I can with the Lord's help! Q. What do I expect from my church? A. I expect to minister and be ministered to for/by the body of Christ when we are gathered together to give praise, thanks and glory to God worshipping him in song, word, tithing, communion, breaking bread and excersizing our gifts among eachother so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13) Q. Do I receive this from my current church and not from the former? A. I am receiving from this church and I did from the former also. Q. What do I bring to the church to help make the church more meaningful in bringing other members to a closer realationship to Jesus? A. I bring to the church myself (as God is molding me) with the gifts and fruits of the Spirit as God has mearsurably given to each of us to bring fullness to the whole local body. P.S. I want you to know Brian, that the Lord has used your questions in a timely fashion to speak to me about my heart for the church (local body)and His purposes for me in it. Thank you for your questions!! Hugger |

6 | Matthew Chap.4 verse 2 | NT general Archive 1 | Hugger | 25928
Hi Joecash.......I'm with Hank and Joe on this...I do not see any direct scriputural reference about this so it would be up to your own convictions (as Hank said) and you are obviously wanting to do the right thing and asking for wisdom about it. I do not see taking communion as breaking your fast. I am on a fast right now and had communion on sunday and it didn't even occur to me NOT to take communion. Peace my brother......Hugger |

7 | Alter Calls? | Rom 10:9 | Hugger | 25357
Dear Hank.....hahahaha! Yes...it truly is amazing what has transpired since I posted the question about altar calls. But such is the way of human nature. I tend to take off on bunny trails myself at times so I totally understand and have enjoyed the posts for the most part. I think some people are just "quick on the draw" so to speak when reading responses and tend to get riled over words that were spoken with totally innocent motives....that's what is difficult when posting on a forum like this. It can be taken in the wrong vain it was given. I pray we all will be more discerning in the future! Love to all and Merry Christmas!!! |

Hi There....I think the bottom line is not the subject but the response that comes out of hearts....that is what we need to reign in...we need to be more self controlled in our responses and not give in to frustration or anger just because someone disagrees with us. I think it is more healthy to have anything discussed as long as we are under control in our responses. Nice to meet you. Hugger

11 | Is lusting after wife sin? | Matt 5:28 | Hugger | 23310
I agree with you on this one Searcher...not that you need any confirmation (smile). It depends on what is in the man's heart....is it for only selfish reasons....that would be lusting....if it is to give her pleasure as well....I wouldn't call it lusting. Blessings to you from a Hugger
12 | How has Solomon come to know. | Prov 16:1 | Hugger | 22871
Hi Nancy...his question was from Proverbs 16:1 and how did Solomon know that the reply of the tongue came from the Lord. At least that is what I interpreted his question to be. And I agree....Solomon knew because of the wisdom that God gave to him. BTW....nice to meet you (: Hugger |

15 | Heaven | Matt 22:30 | Hugger | 2190
I am new to this forum and just want to say I have enjoyed the questions and answers. I, too, think this is a good question and agree with JVH0212 that the Bible is "silent" on a clearcut answer....but my next comment is.....if it could be that there will be sexual relations...does that mean the angels do this in heaven, as the end of the verse says "...but are as angels in heaven." I would be hard pressed to imagine there being sexual relations in heaven. I think (and this is not from scripture but by the witness of the Spirit that lives in me)that we will not need the physical expression of sexual relations in heaven because we will be in love with the Lord and we will be the bride of Christ. The pure joy and ecstacy of being in heaven with the Lord is much more satisfying that anything we can experience with our bodies in sexual relations. Just a thought from a Hugger. :) |
