1 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | GTSpeck | 231800
Yes I read your response and thank you for confirming with that attitude what I suspected from the beginning - that there truly is no place one can debate or discuss ideas any more in a civil manner. Too bad - I was really hoping this place was different. To those readers following this discussion - say what you will, I won't be seeing it any more.
2 | Sabbath Saturday change to Sunday | Matt 5:18 | GTSpeck | 231791
I was referring to the timing of the resurrection, which from this last post I assume you say took place just prior to sunset on Saturday.

Given the context of Mt. 24, Jesus was saying that just as the people of Noah's time were living as they pleased and experienced sudden and unexpected judgment, so will his return be. As for Peter, he states that the message had been delivered to those who perished in the flood prior to their destruction (who at Peter's writing were "spirits in prison" - not that Jesus himself went to them in prison). The "spirits in prison" could not have been fallen angels. There is no mention in scripture of angels being given the opportunity of redemption which was given to man. Further, if it was fallen angels who corrupted the earth then why was the flood judgment brought on men and the earth rather than those angels? This scripture also cannot refer to Jesus preaching to the men who died in the flood after their deaths - why would he single this group out and not the remainder of lost mankind? There was no division of hell set aside only for antediluvian man, so even if Jesus had gone there to preach to them, there would have been others there besides them. The sons of God in Genesis refers to the followers of God mingling in marriage with the ungodly line of Cain, to the point that only Noah and his family remained. God addresses this in the law when he tells Israel not to intermarry with those they find in the Promised Land, because they will draw their hearts away from Him and toward their false gods. I appreciate the comments; you've spurred me to look into a couple of things I hadn't before, and that IMO is the whole point of this forum. |

"materialized fleshly bodies" Reference? If they were capable of doing this, why did they bother to indwell the maniac of Gadara, and why did they have to be sent into the swine upon leaving him? |

John 20:1 doesn't just come right out and say it, but the implication is clear. There is also more evidence relating to the fact that Jesus himself said he would rise after 3 days, the timing of the various feast days including Passover, and John 19:42.
8 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | GTSpeck | 231774
"Okay, first of all do you believe the Bible teaches that the Nephilm were the offspring of the Sons of God?" No I'm not convinced of that. |

9 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | GTSpeck | 231770
With all due respect, this doesn't support the statement. These scriptures refer to the time when Satan and the angels which followed him were cast out of Heaven.
10 | Enoch went to heavenwithout death how? | John 3:13 | GTSpeck | 231749
As a side note, if you follow the dates given in the lineage you'll find that Enoch went to be with God the same year as the flood.
